Can't believe I am going to have to wait such a long time before getting another character slot to play with. I don't even want a bloody jedi!!! Did you ever think that some people might just want a second character to use when they aren't in the mood for hunting... maybe an ID or a dancer for when they just want to chill out and socialise.

Looking at this, I am going to have to wait until all the grinders and other players that come before me get their access... then do all the quests... then train in the jedi profession (of which I have no real interest) - whereas, a large number of people who managed to unlock prior to Pub 10 (in what now seems to have been a much fairer system!) have two characters at their disposal.

Am seriously considering quitting now... gonna sleep on it first; but boy am I disappointed!

Wow, I am impressed. Quite a lot of complains raining down on SOE in such a short time. I am very angry, too, folks. But please. Try to remain decent. Weare not getting anywhere being rude.

1. Can TH please clarify how long the people in Group 4 likely have to wait until they can start? I suppose many are angered by the thought to wait an unknown lenthy time.

2. Today I was at the Starsider - Force Village, catching everyone who was able to enter it. After speaking to 4 players in about an hour waiting, I found out, ALL of them where Jedi. All of them reported, all they saw where other Jedi, and only 1 or 2. I walked around the wilderness of many planets for around 10 hours or more now, speaking to everyone I meet, talking on all Planetary Channels, and NO one has said to have met the Old Man. So my guess is: he wasnt there today, either on purpose or by a bug.

Please, SOE, look into this matter. There seem to be no Old Men appearing yet. I wish at least some would have gotten the chance to make it the first day. IMO, better a crowded force village, than people waiting months. If the Group 4 people really are supposed to wait this long, please reconsider. The Jedi Quests will take enough time, we have waited and paid and prepared for this day. Don't let us wait longer now.

OK, I hate this sig, but ya know, SOE did not fix
the forums so I am stuck with this...

i gotta say a few words about the numerous complaints here. Ok im one of those who believed in grinding till the end and hope who knows your silent and your at about 15 masters by publish 9 so i gave a shot and mastered like 7 more professions till last night to get me at 22. First im not gonna say im mad about the 8 professions i mean cmon guys it was pretty obvious all of a sudden no one was unlocking below 20 i mean i probably said to my friend who unlocked in 31 that it was changeda nd didnt believe me thinking SOE wouldnt go with it ... i can see why you did it but for sure its creating alot of bad energy around the game ... the 2nd thing i wanna mention is how come any of you complain about the groups ... im sure more than 80% of these posts are from people that arent on test center and havent read all the posts about the FS quests ... whats the point getting to the camp if you cant kill your 50 siths cauz 10000000000000 people are there and get em all before you .... i mean cmon guys this is really common sense but so far everyone manage to get mad .... now the only thing people make mistakes with is the im silent so i have 1 left so i should be glowing and going next but they have to remember its 8 and its all you guys that need to inform everyone ... why make this game bad ... we all like it so much ... now if you wanna keep sending posts for TH about his posts thats just sad the guy works his ass out for us and we would repay him like that .... thats just **edit**ty .... and the message was clear btw TH i saw all of crap lately onthe forums but that was the best explaination by far . keep it up and if your in a group consider yourself lucky by the time it gets to you everything will be known and you will have a smooth ride not like us ...

Nah, what really sucks is not being able to believe anything thats said by an official due to all the previous unethical behavior done. Can you really trust their word on JTL and the combat balance now? Are we only gonna be allowed to go into space a group at a time? Maybe we will have to unlock the new class changes when the balances go live? Will there be 5 or 8 hidden factors in that? Once you put on the crown, you can never take it off again...

Just wanted to add my 2 cents. I have 3 accounts, and am cancelling 2 over this. I waited too long to get this, got all the badges, got the inner glow message, and no old man visit for me or anyone I know. I am not even really pissed, I am just not wasting any more money on this system, and they won't even give us answers.

Oh well, I still get to play, and they lose $30 a month.

Boy, people sure get emotional in this game. I for one have been playing since beta three and have never understood why people get so upset. I for one love this game and find my time in it very enjoyable. The new quest based system is much beter then the hologrind and gets players to actually experinece the game. Obviously, you can never make everyone happy and that is the case with Publish 10. The bottom line is whether you did the profession grind or not everyone has the opportunity to become a Jedi. Will it be easy? No, but it is possible and the journey will now have actual content. With Publish 10, the positive correspondent feedback on the combat balance and JTL I think this game will continue to get more fun in the months to come. Thanks SOE for allyour hard work! I have no plans to cancel my account anytime soon! Let the flames begin

also, the badge coleections gets you access to the old man appearence.

You need to be out of town 1k for best results in getting him to spawn, on test shuttling to another city and then going 1 k out seems to work well. Of course it has to be on the stage where you are in the group the devs have specified to get the spawn.

What happend?

Publish 10 was looking swell on test, lots of bugs, a nit of a concern about thephases, but i dont mind them, there is plenty to do and the quests are ok.

Badges wa a good idea, old man spawned away you go.

But then you throw this profession thing into the mix.

From what you have said thunderheart (which to be honest for many is still confusing) the more profesions you have the quicker(period of days,weeks, months(?) )

This is as i said such a bad idea, so if you want the old man to spawn faster you will have to grind out professions again, which you said would not happen anymore, again loosing the faith of many customers.

You say that you seeing the old man will depend on the number of professions grinded AND what you devs consider is the level of completion for each group and judge when to allow the next line of players to begin their quest. So it could be a long time for this for many, i myself am "glowing" but iwth only 5 professions under my belt, i all the badges bar other profs, speicial issued badges and rebel ones, and 1 corvete, i have played the game for about a year, and was advised not to grind profs as a better system that was MORE FUN was on the way. Grinding although i want a jedi wasnt what i wanted to do when playing the game.

But now for me it will be weeks, even mroe than a month if people in other groups are slow going in the village. This is barmey and unfair.

In the old system you had to grind professions, and to reward players for grinding profs you have issued them with free unlock of fs slots, people who unlocked after publish 9 will get to padawan, GREAT.

But now the rest of us have to wait and be more or less punished waiting for these guys to play the game. A que to play SWG to its full extent, thats not right.

You need now to, at least, reduce this wait to days not weeks /month.

Prefable scrap this whole "waiting for the old man" alltogether, This anouncment has shocked the players.

The forums being seriously overloaded and all the threads here, and the live chat being under constant omderation speaks volumes of your appraoch and information.
