People like you just don't get it do you? We non-grinders were told that there would be a new system, we were told that it would put an end to hologrinding, because in their own words hologrinding became detrimental to the game.

That's why we got expectations of becoming Jedi and didn't start hologrinding! Because we were told we wouldn't have to! Now suddenly it turns out that we should have been all along! It's not our bloody fault that we were lied to!

What? You thought you'd be able to get a Jedi character handed you on a silver plate? How could you possibly think there would be a way to allow only a small percentage of player to become Jedi that didn't involve an insane amount of grinding?

BECOMING A JEDI IS ALWAYS GOING TO BE INSANELY HARD. Get used to it.

You weren't lied to. No one ever said you wouldn't have to grind. They just said the hologrind would come to an end and, thankfully, it has.

Now suck it up Your Worshipfullness and get to work.

Buxley

Don't be ridiculous, I thought what I was told, that with the new system, everybody (i.e. non-grinders) would have access to a series of quests to become FS, then Jedi. That's what I mean. I've never expected to just be give a Jedi nor does my post imply as such.

It is however moot if Thunderheart's post means what I think it does. But then if he could bloody *clarify* the issue I'd be greatful.

You will have access to a series of quests. It just so happens that people who were MOSTLY DONE in the old system will be MOSTLY DONE in the new system. Whats your problem? Now that things have changed you want to kick the people who actually tried in the face?

Based on TH's latest post he's not backing up or deyning that the /checkforce result means a visit from the old man. Maybe there is more to it since it went live. As he says all the requirements.

Well, I didn't hologrind at all - in fact, I've never owned a holocron, except for a Sith Holo that I keep as a decoration. I've done 5 professions in the year I've been playing - Tailor, Merchant, Marksman, Teras Kasi, and Artisan, and there's no way that I hit all 5 holo-professions by blind luck. But, I've done all the POIs and have enough other badges to be "one with the force", so I qualify under the new system.
Well, which is it?

To be clear:
Lets say Player A has completed 32 professions before publish 10.
Player B has met all the requirements of the new path before publish 10.
Both player A and Player B are eligible for visits by the old man.

TH that is the most unclear thing you have said all day. For extra clarification, does this mean that grinders that are automatically eligible for a visit from the old man (as per your statement eariler, wait time is 1-3 days) are the same as players who were glowing with the force prior to pub. 10 release? So in other words, both player A and player B will get a visit within 1-3 days?

***AN ACTUAL QUESTION***

-note didn't see this posted anywhere-

*already understood* - more then approx 29 profs + / those who unlocked between patch 9-10 will receive a quest from an elder. There is a cap on the number of individuals who can access the quests, etc. (*note*) I am in that group above.

*question* - as time goes on more and more will have access; but for us who are waiting in the 'wilderness'. Should we be waiting 24/7, or is there a specific time / way people are chosen. For example: it is now full, would it be wise for us all to just sit and wait til someone is complete and then another person will be picked, etc. Or is there a specific wait time per user as most are speculating. (*in other words, should I be waiting all the time, or should I turn the game off, do whatever and try another day*)

Personaly i think you and the developers are forgetting 1 thing 1000's of jedi's running around the servers is just inevitable each server has a limited life cycle.

Every person barring a very minute percentage want to be jedi's and people pay good money to be able to live thier dreams in this simulated world.Taking that away from them or making that dream an impossibility to reach is the way forward to making people give up this game and move on to fufilling their mmporg dreams elsewhere.

Now im not saying that things are to be handed on a plate but at the end of the day WE ARE CUSTOMERS!! and sony are the sellers and we have the right to issue our demands of what we want wether or not sony want to listen to us is quite rightly their business but we all have the opertunity to go elsewhere thats what makes competition.

As a player of 3 months clealry the jedi is my ultimate aim and to be a successfull one and i do expect to work at it to get there but what i dont like to see is the developers making the rules on how long it takes for me to get there.I should be able to make that decision wether i want to stay at my computer 12 hours a day or just 1 hour a day because at the end of it i pay just as much supscription as anyone else does wether ive mastered 1 proffession or 30.

My gripe is that people who have clearly done enough to become a jedi (regardless of proffessions) then they should be rewarded so.Every character should be able to choose what specifics they want as a character and just do that not grind a million proffessions just for an unlock. If my character just wants to be a cook or a master rifleman then he should be alowed to do so.

Now personaly i think everyone should have to specialise in some basic combat as in fairness it is combat that we seek to become a jedi for i think every player should have to master a novice weapon or brawler treebefore they are ready to go for padawan status.

Whats happening here is sony is shooting itself in the foot by making to many jedis at once the development cycle was clearly badly thought outand the people that deserved jedis long time ago should have got it then and we wouldnt be in this mess.

Jump to lightspeed is their only saving grace and in my opinion jedi's should not be allowed to become top starpilots they are keepers of the peace because tecnically there shouldnt be that many dark jedi's anyway.

If you kick the jedis from space and let the mortal folk just do the space battles thenthe jedi number will keep to an acceptable level on the planets.I know that when the planets increase in number the jedi problem will seem not so bad.

So to recapp my thoughts.

Let people get on to the path of the jedi when they want (to an ACCEPTABLE time limt) not like a 6 months to a year and keep the jedi's out of jump to lightspeed major play.( as in let them just get to a half decent level not a top starpilot) and the jedi will decrease in number because they will have other characters OR take away any special abilities for jedi in space and let them, as far as jump to lightspeed goes, start a fresh and make them as vulnerable to death as we are in space but with no penalty to their jedi XP.

my 2 cents.

He said requirements of the new path, I tend to assume this means the glowy.

But then that's all we can do. Assume.

TH...you are doing great with the explanations...I have been reading carefully (at least twice for each of your posts), but I have one big open question still.

I am a middle of the road Holo-grinder. Completed 20 profs total...11 since my last holo went silent. I am assuming I am probably in Group 2 or 3, having completed 5 or maybe 6 of the 8 holo profs. I am currently 'surging' with the force.

The question: If I do nothing, will I get a visit/invitation once the crowds thin out? or do I need to 'glow' before I get an invitation?

OK, second question: Assuming the answer to part 1 is 'yes', you will get a visit if you do nothing...if I upgrade my status to 'Glow' will I get invited sooner.

Thanks! Ignore the whiners! Keep up the good work!

Well, since the responses are taking a few minutes,

and no one has given any sworn testimony to the

badge=glowy debate, I have a couple questions perhaps

could be answered amidst the "i hate you cuz what you said" and

the following witty retorts. Lets start with a couple base things we

do actually know about the whole system for us non holo folks. I

played breifly on TC2, and all of you non combat folks who are griping

because the old man aint pawned his rock off on ya yet, better get

ready to fight after he does, cuz its a couple of rumbles before you

actually get inside the village. Also, a question i have is, since i am

IMP, have done said themepark and jabba's, can I do the Nym?

I know he is against the Empire, but it would be a nice badge to have.

Another question i have is, are there different degrees of dizziness that

can be compounded by the same attack? Or is it just dizzy or not dizzy?

And if there are any other LLC users out there, isnt it great to hit things for 7K+?

I likes it. If anyone here is on starsider, and know of a place I could get a good

1H sword, Id appreciate it. Now, on to some answers, perhaps a nice conversation,

and more meaningless literary rough-housing from those of us who dont quite get

what these games are all about.

*just a note to some of the post* -> not a flame

Jedi is both plural and singular (fish/fishs is the same error as jedi/jedis)
