Thread: Desired Rewards
How many of us avoided trips to the hospital because of a first aid kit and loving mother(with no medical iskill)? This could surely be the case in a society where space travel and galactic domination rule the day ! I mean today first aid kits include advanced antibiotics, topical ointments, benadryl and other things that 30 and 40 years ago they didnt have - so why not have a small use pack that islike say , 30 30 or 25 25 or 50 50 stim - no skill required ? that would be valued and heavily traded loot - if they werent added as a craftable item - also MIND ENHANCERS - like mind wound kits that drop off jedi - they would be the most valuable items in the game since currently no class can mind heal on the spot so to speak- which leaves me feeling pretty useless as a DOCTOR - I mean there are a ton of things that could be added that would never infringe on the crafters 50 crate of uber stims or so and sos UBER crafted pistol but would that would greatly enhance the enjoyment of the game - its getting pretty stale - at least for me
Traveling all over and placing harvesters almost daily with the new shift system is getting old fast ..
I used to see these things drop and for sale on vendors - no all I see are crafted items and resources for sale on vendors and I cant EVER find enough herbavore or avian meat to even come CLOSE to the amount of partner goods I can get harvesting ( Class 4 petrol - Domesticated OAts) one small harvester can get in a day what would take me days to collect hunting and skinning - that whole system needs to be looked at - why are so many animals WILD meat ? Is there a class product that uses that ? Why not have more animals drop more herbavore meat ? I mean hunting stuff isnt something the a ranger will do and a market is definately not emrging fro good herbavore meat - and paying 32cr/unit for 150 pieces of this and that kind makes the end result useless since I cant craft alot of anything with that and cant make a schematic for stims with it - its really open ended the loot tables - meat - make npcs that are killed always drop some
Its not like rangers will care - I dont see 50 rangers all trying to sell me large amounts, and by large I mean 1600 a pop( TINY in resource terms ) , of even crappy meat - so - I mean there needs to be something in the interim between the evolving meat market and the present day lack of one !
Sorry for the post spam I'm doing here, but the wheels got to turnin and I gotta say it in what little time I have to post.
and the ability to make an all one wound pack would be nice at master level too !
Oooo good idea there too =)
Make items that enhance the construction of a weapon, similar to the uses of Krayt tissue. You still have to have the weaponsmith to acomplish the task, but the reward is that you're going to be able to hunt for a WS to craft you a hard-core weapon.
You don't drop the weapon, and you keep the crafters an integral part of the whole system.
This could be used as a type of reverse-customer service type reward. During beta, a contest was being held that would allow the winner to obtain one of the first houses on their respective server when the game went live. Why not create a type of "Badge for Rewards" program or something....such as, one particular quest could be difficult..long, whatever... The reward could be a badge or something that recognized their hard work and dedication, and could be redeemed for a complementary month of SWG or something.I think from a players standpoint, this would add a lot of "real-world" value, if you will, into playing the game. Also, from a Customer Service standpoint, provides a fantastic opportunity to provide an excellent gaming experience for your customer, and a worthwhile reward program just for playing the game. "Hey, mom! I just won a free month of SWG, and I got a cool holo-graphic to place in my house!".....Mom would be so proud..and she saved a buck or two....or 14.95.
Oh..about the holo-graphic thing..that's another idea. Remember..(duh) Leia's holographic she programmed into R2?? Wouldn't it be cool if we could record a holographic (canned graphic, nothing fancy) into our R2 or other droid units? Kind of like a holographic module....where you could place it at your door..the R2 unit, looking supercool, projecting a holo image of your character that has a pop-up window above the graphic that can be programmed to read whatever you like...such as "Sorry I am away fora couple days. Feel free to browse my vendor or look around." or something..well, that's stupid, but you get my point. Holo-Graphics...maybe a schematic that you have to earn with a large quest that can be used to make a holographic module for your droid unit. Man, that would be cool....It's vague, but you get my point.
Think of the possibilities...like making your droid into a mobile vendor..and leaving it in town or something-----the Holographic Image of yourself, advertising the wares...then you access the droid, which only contains like 20 items or less, depending on the storage----then you can restock it whenever you like and move it wherever you like.. Mobile Droid vendors...is that another idea? I better shut up, probably just looking stupid.

Even though I'm in the minority(I don't own a house) I like the idea of some unique furniture. Anything "uber" makes me a little wary since it invaribly brings up questions of game balance. But I like the idea of unique and rare items of little or no consequence. Bring up more unique furnishings, maybe some clothes (not armor, per se) that will stand out. Heck, you could even have some rare pets without "uber" stats that could be just plain status symbols for those willing to give up additional pets space for them in the datapad.
Granted, at issue are the so-called Epic quests and more involved static quests. I understand the desire to encourage people to undertake them, but EQ proved once you start the "uber loot" reward, everyone will end up with one. That makes me think the rewards need to be more interesting than useful.
Money, FP, items -- that's all good for NPC missions, I don't care which it is, as long as it is a worthwhile amount. I was extremely disappointed with that Dark Jedi NPC on Dantooine. 50 credits? 10 fp for killing a padawan? Ridiculous. I would have been better off keeping that padawan lock of hair and selling it than returning it to that guy. Something cool like a jedi cloak would have been a perfect reward.
And another thing...when you finish a string of missions, they should be concluded better. You should feel some sense of accomplishment...a badge perhaps? Or just better dialogue, not something ambiguous like "The Master may accept me as his apprentice..." Or at least make something of the dialogue through another NPC. Perhaps when you do the missions for that dark jedi, you can go to the "Master" (Darth Vader) and what he'll give you will tie into it. There are a bunch of cool possibilities...doing missions for a dark jedi has such potential for awesomeness, utilize it!
Of course everyone wants armor or weapons or buff schematics for either. Those are sound ideas. However, I would be happy withan uniquepiece of clothing or jewelry, a statue or an unusual plant for my house, or a unique personal (non-combat) pet.Like atrainable bird. I would be more interested in a schematic for an unique piece of furniture than for an uber weapon or armor even though I rely heavily on both. I want something cool for my house.I think unique schematics are the way to go. I mean, who wants another looted useless CDEF carbine? To me the problem with weapon schematics is that not everyone uses weapons... or armor. I would do a long, intricate quest for any of these things.
I have 3 very good suggestions, not that theyll be ready by now, since this thread is sooo long already.. but here goes:
1) Armor and clothing power ups.. pretty simple, but I want some decent power ups here pls.. and have them repeat with the quest, or if they are a reward, and not a loot/mission item.. make sure they are worth the one per character limit.
2) More paintings, area rugs(oh pls, pretty pls) and the other plants, and tree styles.
3) Heavy weapon power ups.. there is a catagory on the bazaar, why cant we have them yet?!?
PS- If anyone knows where to get clothing or heavy weapon power ups, consistantly (repeatably) please post here, or email me ingame if youre on Flurry my characters name there is Commanchee. TY
Ive been thinking that maybe loot such as it is isnt perhaps the answer may be it should be extraordinary interactive mission to an unreachable planet under normal circumstances or maybe set in motion some chain of events that effects us all in the SW universe such as an attack on a city by the empire etc - hence adding some spice to the story lines etc.
I'd like to see decent equipment as rewards. Not decent schematics..you shouldn't need a crafter to make use of your reward.
not sure this is on your topic here but here goes
Pubam and Panshee lairs on Endor.
64,000 ham
doesnt matter if you kill all the critters for the lair or not you still get NO upgrade to damage.
I thought it was suppose to let your shots do more damage after the lair inhabitants were gone.
as it is i am usinga 126 + damage rifle on a 4.9delay and it takes me 20 minutes to kill the lair.
most hits are 230 - 300
Please at this rate i will need new weapons every day i go to endor.
This does not seem to be very inline with risk vs reward
the other lairs on endor seem to act correct but the two i mention are really bad. I actually go afk twice usually before the lair is dead. using the auto afk as a guide for time.
I know you want to help drive the consumer market but this is insane to push everyone to have to buy new weapons every other day for killing these lairs.
