OK guys, I think weve all had enough of you all threatening to leave the game too. First off, SOE doesnt want you to leave, but you do HONESTLY think that by threatening to leave, its gonna make them miraculously speed up and do whatever it is your asking? And second off, I have seen many people over that last few monthes say they were gonna leave the game by such-and-such a date if so-and-so isnt fixed, and you know what? Its passed the date, its not fixed and those same kids are still here on the boards complaining about something new, and once again, threatening to leave. So get over it everyone. You all your not going anywhere. haha
I don't think everyone is threatening to leave, they just want an honest answer up front to make up their decision.
They said schem limit is 100. Changes are already made to TC to 100. Then they come and ask us what crafters think, and overwhelming number of crafters said no.
So lot of crafters are left in limbo. Are they gonna make it 100? or will it be changed back to 1000? If this is just small issue, then it is no big deal, but for LOT of crafter, this is pure game breaker and they will be unable to play anymore. So they need to know the answer to this without being in limbo for 3 weeks then find out at patch day.
I for one would definately cancel my Doctor/Chef account and CM account since I can't no longer be able to do anything productive thing with them, but I will keep the CH/Pistoleer account.
It is not a threat, just asking for solid answer to make my decision on. I will still play one way or another.
There are way too many broken professions and other bugs that need to be addressed before we start adding MORE buggy content (and YES, the Player cities WILL be bugged, and ANYONE that thinks differently is a fool and an idiot).
SO.... you're adding HUGE new programming that it's a given will introduce at least one, if not dozens of bugs, and you've choosen NOT to address several OBVIOUSLY broken professions, pre-existing bugs and balance problems that have been on-going since retail start, and you are severely nerfing crafters and the economy and choosen NOT to respond to our questions about the schematics, which seems to be a HUGE concerns for hundreds, if not thousands of the player base.
AM I the only wrong that see something deadly wrong here?
Nice to see that most major bugs/exploits have been overlooked with this patch. So now a whole new bunch are going to be released and we just have to deal ![]()
As is so often the case on these boards (is it due to lack of age? lack of maturity? lack of intellect? ... I think moreso than that it is lack of effort on the posters' parts...) there is a few recurring comments here that need to be corrected / educated.
1.) There is no "stealth nerfing" occuring. There has been a major discussion held on the part of the developers asking for your opinion on the 100 schematic limiting. Just because -currently- they have not replied with their conclusions or decisions means they're "stealth nerfing" something. They did exactly what they should have... asked for input, and they are now weighing internally on how they wish to proceed... but, recall 2 things- the 1000 input was a bug and never intended all along from the overall design, and also they get the final say in deciding the best way to change it. As a former tailor character I knew about the 1000 limit and never used it once due to knowing it was an exploit and against the spirit of the intended design. Common sense will tell you when something was not intended to work the way you see it can- and a strong nature will let you stop yourself from using it when others flock to the weaker path.
2.) The design and implementation of Player Cities has -no- bearing on the efforts being worked on player character class improvements. Not only did they clearly state the Player City code is based mostly off the work of one person only, there seems to be a lack of understanding how development teams work. You always have numerous people assigned to different tasks. Under no circumstances can all developers work on the same issue- there is only one "hot copy" of the code able to be passed on. In other words... if you have 10 developers, and have them change something each uniquely pertaining to class "X"... they still have to all pass their work to 1 developer in the end who has to take almost as much time pulling it all together and testing each code segment works together. This is very inefficient, and therefore often you only assign one developer to a specific task. (i.e. One developer to fix class "X", one to fix class "Y", etc.)The Live Content team has several divisions... there is the Events team, the developers who fix current issues, those who work on the database, those who create newcontent, etc. Therefore, pushing Player Cities live improves the game for a very large percentage of the player base, but does not slow down or impact the work being performed on other existing issues.
The boards would be a far richer source of information if others would stop to use the "advanced search" feature just a bit more often, to gather the necessary data before posting themselves, thus eliminating repeat comments and falsehoods. Being informed and educated makes yourself feel good- I highly recommend pursuing such a course- it will better the entire community around us, and in turn, the game service SWG we all love!

I AM NOT A CRAFTER! I could care less about the 100/1000 schem thing, what im talking about is that for the last2 days, (at least)and many times in the past, there have been patches without notes and no Dev posts as to what they are...that I dont like, I am far from young, I unlike most people probably playing SWG had to pay for the game and all its monthly fees myself.
See, thats what makes it hard for you to understand.
Like if they come out and say it is a bug that weapon had condition of 1000, and it should be 100. And that only weaponsmith can repair them.
Most combat profession would protest and say what a bad idea that is.
But some crafter would say "umm.. so what? just get two dozen weapon and rotate after every 3 kill or so and visit city to find Weaponmaster every 4 hrs or so. Whats the big deal?I care less about that change"
Unless you know how big of change it is, it IS hard to understand.
You are all misunderstanding me, I totally understand the whole thing and I never said anything negative or anything to down play the importance of the schem problems, all ive said was enough with making us download some smaller patches without letting us know what they do, we pay for this **edit** game, granted i love the game, but we all have the right to know what they are doing to the game behind our backs...
It doesnt bother any of you, to log on after work or school or whatever...and it starts downloading a patch of some sort that is not accompanied by some Patch Notes or a post on the boards by the Devs letting us know what they just did to our game. Thats right, this is OUR, we pay for it, without us, there would be no SOE therefore no SWG. They own the game, but its ours, we have the right to know what were paying for. Am I the only person with the common sense to feel this way? So stop shooting this topic of the schems to me, cause i agree its messed up but I never once said who cares let it be broken. I just said i could care less about it being brought up to me because none of you can understand that THAT IS NOT WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT when I say stealth nerfs. Got it now everyone?
Kevin
Heres a prime example of why making player cities and mounts a priority over fixing, balancing and improving general gameplay, is wrong.
Three weeks ago we were promised Green Marine would be looking at Smuggler class over the next week and would soon be in touch with us. Lets be honest, Green Marine has too much on his plate. Consequently he is juggling his responsibilities and I guarantee he hasnt got enough time to do all of them justice. Id be very surprised if he is the only one of your devs with too much on their plate.
Something has to give. At the moment thats general class fixing and gameplay improvement so that player cities and mounts can be implemented. This is not going to be a popular move with the majority of folk and I'll be surprised if the implementation of mounts and player cities doesnt promote a reaction which will surprise you guys. ie we arent overwhelemed by this stuff because of what has been neglected to work on it.
Let me repeat, for clarity, the work you and your folk are doing is very much appreciated.
Q, this is gr8 news but one question...I've heard of this warren being placed into the game but where might I find it (planet). Or are there a lot on different planets?
Thanks
When are you going to fix the Chef profession?? We are grossly outclassed by Doctor and Smuggler.
Hell screw PLAYERCITIES!!!!!!
We want mount. Playercities are only a extension for a few of us who rotted their house close enough to get a playercities staus!!! Mounts are usful für everybody..... damnit!
