Thread: Weekly Roundtable Discussion (Week Ending 4-19-04)
Player titles,
Can we have our current faction rank able to be displayed instead of a profession title?
Also, what rank am I? I have no way of knowing unless I talk to a recruiter? seems silly to me...

OK, here's what we are going to do in tomorrow's update:
You will get 75 items per lot, instead of 25, up to a max of 250 items per house.
No vendors nor their contents will count against the house limit.
Factory crates will count as 1 volume, not 5.
We realize this doesn't get you all the way back to where you were, but it should improve the situation. A fuller solution cannot be accomplished by the morning, which is why we're only going this far. We want to do as much as we can as quickly as we can.
There are other things that we can and will be doing, but they will take longer.
(Since I am sure someone will ask: why not just roll back the code? Because it was multiple integrations and changelists, and it'd be somewhat hairy. This is safer).

I am going to ask my questions in order of the statements from Holocron.
What is the "fuller solution"?
When can we expect to see it?
What "other things" have you done to deal with this issue and what is still to come?
So, can you please tell me and the community if and when you:
Can just up the items per lot some?
Can not have a hard cap for large houses and PA Halls and such?
Axiously awaiting your reply
Amom
I've been eagerly awaiting these answers for the last 6 months as well.

First off, thank you TH for a response to this issue. Before you read anything else in my response, please understand I am directing no anger at you, since I know you are only fielding the question, and are not responsible for the error nor ignoring the error.
The answer is that it never was kinetic. If it ever was seen that way, it wassome sort ofoddbug. In the data tables themselves, they've never been listed that way.

ON ARMOR
Hello.
Is the team going to do anything about the fact that everycharacter (including Jedi) wears composite? What's the use of having all these neat types of armor whenonly onekind is used byan entire population (excluding Wooks)?
Each armor type should have strengths/weaknesses against the spectrum of damages inflicted in SWG. Current composite resistance capabilitiesare far superior to any other type of armor made. Is this how you want it?
Also, do you plan to make your upcoming death watch armor a big waste of time like RIS? Broken, shifting stats and loot camp madness?
Basically what I am asking is are you ever going to make armors like Padded, Mabari, RIS, Death Watch (Mandalorian?), Bone, and Ubese worth wearing or are you going to let the composite craze run its current course? Its kind of sad when everyone standing next tomy toonis wearing the same stuff, only in different colors.
No, its not how the devs want it. The rub is that with the crafting experimentation bug, everything is uber. To change that, it needs the crafting experimentation change integrated, but its been pre-empted due to popular demand. We're hoping to equalize that with the combat balance.
And for those of you who are following the Combat balance news story, we had a strategy meeeting yesterday and myself and a couple of others investigated what could be done to get the combat balance back in the mix. The programming team is putting together a plan that may get the "development sandbox" that JustG mentioned in his letter to accelerate this.

Ok, you said we could use this area to ask questions. So here is my question!
Why, do these games never have "children" in them? Every NPC is an adult! Where do these "adults" come from? Are they hatched or what?
Inquiring minds, need to know!
This was a big request pre-launch too. Its always a big player interest, but the answer is that with the family rating, the lack of children has to do with keeping vulgar and/or upsetting images out of the game.

are you serious? The world is crazy!
Heh, actually I think this is where the phrase, "Only in America" is best suited ![]()
<Thread Hijack>
TH, can you please read the PM I sent alittle while agotitled "concern over missing friend"... any assistance at all would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Something really has to be done about creatures, I am not speaking as a MCH here wanting uber pets. I am speaking as someone who is bored with PvE.
Things that I should not be able to do that I can (even without pets or buffs)
Solo rancors of all types
I will remind everyone that in ROTJ the rancor Luke killed was a YOUNG rancor. not fully grown, and certantly not a ancient bull rancor.
Solo Krayts
Yep it was only a juvinal and I didn't use any structure exploits just stragety.
Solo a Mob of GSP's
these are supposed to be pack hunters and fierce and deadly not killable in like 5 shots.
Also Faction bases
Useless nice faction farms for the opposeing faction my suggestions for imporveing them are here

Essentially TH after playing since June, I am getting really bored with this game. I understand things take time, but when you scrap a plan after already implimenting part of it you need to unimpliment what was. Give me something to be excited over today not 6 months from now
You might be right. At least I think this wouldn't be a problem in Switzerland. But I still think it's possible...WoW has also children walking arround.

Why weren't interplanetary shuttle times lowered to 5 minutes as well in publish 8, since that would be the bigger time waster in game?
Also, my gf would make me get and give away 10 krayyt pearls if she could get the type of outfit Nightsister elders and protectors wear. Any possibility of making some of their clothes a loot drop?
we're not in publish 8 yet, still 7. Sometime in May the shuttle thing will happen, i hope/suppose....
Travel Time Takeaway

Thanks for all the input everyone. I wanted to close this out and let you know what the final decision was. With Publish 8, the shuttle times will be reduced to 5 minutes.
For the Spaceport times, this will all change with the GCW revamp. The GCW revamp vision includes a great many dynamic world features. Basically, depending on who is “winning the conflict” in any given area will effect the travel times.
Additionally, plan on seeing Smuggler NPC’s that will take you from “anywhere to anywhere”.
