Don't hold your breath about getting 1 single thing back (or even a credit equivalent). Think back to all the bugs in the past 6 months that have caused you to lose something. Now think back at how many times you got compensation?

What Eola said. The thing that surprises me is that the devs don't appear to be treating this as an *emergency* situation, which it clearly is. The existence of the bug itself - well, it's a really bad one, but bugs happen. It's the lack of urgency in the response which confuses and worries me.

I agree. I am not angry that the bug exists. Bugs happen, and sometimes bad bugs happen. I understand that. And I don't assume its a simple timer issue that is trivial to fix either. There's no reason to assume a 14 day timer ever existed just because the two previous 7 day time limits added up to 14! It's possible, but not a safe assumption.

I am upset at the way it is being publicly handled. There is no honest reason I can think of for not informing players of this issue at log in. I'd really like to know what the reason for not doing so is.

So, the Emporor has been "acquiring" items to help continue the war efforts against the Rebellion eh. Guess all these "missing" items would be with in the story line, its gonna take a load of paint and shingles to replace the last death star that little force sensitive twerp had the nerve to attack.

Oh...........and what about the last vendor bug where the vendors just disapeared before player cities? i never got a response back............

and last night i got 0 feedback when i went to my retired vendors to retrieve my items, then destroyed the vendors because im done crafting..............

and then out of the blue i lose connection, and im warped back to wherei had just logged in..........i return vendors gone, names removed off entry list on the mall, and all my items are no longer around on the floor or my bag..................soi had some pre nerf fwg5s in crates im missing over 300 of them..........im missing about 150k of the best steel on the server for corbantis..........and some other items............

and why does duping still work ???

how can u nerf t21s 5 times, but leave duping in the game..............

Why do i never get a email response saying sorry for the inconvienence................i get 0 response, except the classic your request has gone unread over and over................and to think i m paying 60 bucks a month for this type of service...........not for much longer though...........

You guys are above average intelligence, I can tell by reading these posts so im very surprised that noone has figured out what happened. Its very simple grasshoppah....

There are too many items in the game and way too many credits, whats a better way to take a big chunk of both out of the system thenby putting in this "oopsie" that eats literally millions of credits (value) and items across all servers. Then fix it in next publish while saying "Sorry no way to track your items and no reimbursements".

Ill bet the guy that thought this up got a new corner office eand a new Beamer....

That's good to know. I never assumed otherwise.

I'm still wondering why something isn't put in the message of the day login screen. It doesn't effect me, but I'm just wondering why. It seems unquestionable that this issue will affect any merchant who buts items up and expects them to stay for the full 30 day period (if there was anyone who successfully put an item up for 30 days and was unaffected when "14 days remaining" kicked in, then they would have posted here by now). So why not warn everyone up front until the issue is resolved?

At the very least, it's the polite thing to do.

TH stop and READ exactly what we are saying. We have explained how to duplicate this without any doubt. People have verified it's the 14 day timer and watched items poof in person.

SOE and YOU have majorly dropped the ball on this one. Most of the damage has been done, and now it's all just icing on the cake as no one listened to the players when we tried to tell you there was a very serious problem with the game.

Unfornately you have become as big a disapointment as SOE has allowed SWG to become. The compensation for this issue better be a good one, or I can go ahead and cancel this waste of time.

Yeah. I've never had a vendor because I am new to the game. And even I know how to reproduce this problem, just from reading the posts on this thread.

Just a heads up, there are lots of people working on this right now. Its a top priority. In addition, Im working with the Merchant Correspondent and some other regulars to chase this down.

If anyone can show us how to duplicate and repeat any of these errors consistently, it would be very helpful.

(and no, no one wiped out items to clean the database. thats just silly. )

Just an observation here,

Old system:
7 days on vendor, 7 days in stockroom, item deletes, no e-mail sent.

New system (with bug)

14 days, item disapears, no error or email sent....

14 = 7 + 7 Coincidence?

Tell someone to look at the item cleanup code....

Am I misunderstanding something here? Doesn't the problem kick in when there are 14 days remaining in the sale rather than 14 days after you post the sale??

If so, then the 7+7=14 issue that everyone keeps assuming explains the problem,is very likely not what they think it is. The item isn't deleted 14 days after putting up the sale. It's being deleted 14 days before the sale finishes. Which would mean it's probably not related to this so-called "item cleanup" phase that so many people are assuming happens after 14 days.

It is probably pointless for us to speculate about what is causing the problem, but come on, think before you jump on the 7+7=14 band wagon.

"If anyone can show us how to duplicate and repeat any of these errors consistently, it would be very helpful."

ONE SIMPLE STEP:

1) List items for sale from your inventory

In 14 days it disappears right from the vendor. Not from the stockroom, but right from the for sale room.

There IS NO trick.

Now countless posts here have indicated possible explanations as to why this is happening. Someone needs to look into how the auto-delete timer is triggered and CHANGE IT. Our guess is that when the sales timer got extended to 30 days, no one bothered to change/test this auto-delete timer and so anything put up for sale gets deleted at exactly 14 days.
