Great ideas on both parts. I would really like to see this turn into an exciting story and not just an NPC giving some gineric search and destroy quest. Please go to Lucasarts and get them to put some writers into this. Maybe tap some of the authors who write the novels say maybeeeee....Stackpole or Denning?
HAH, I know that's a longshot but boy would it be great.

Village idea: NO. I mean, the idea of this unknown path looks nice but I don't like the idea of ONE PLACE where everything is centralised.
Quest Journal: GREAT. Now we just need *REAL QUESTS* to fill it.

TH, a couple of things.
1. I like the idea, but I think that jedi should be able to go here and do the quests...
2. This should be like the corvette, where you shuttle and everything.

Any plans on doing this?

I just want to say it sounds really great. I really like these quest ideas that are getting put into force sensitivity and that also somewhat goes along with the knight quests. I would really like to see more of these type things in the game. It will keep the game more interesting!

Let me guess how it's going to go down:
- Speak with NPC
- NPC gives you a mission to kill X number of a certian creature or to escort some one back or to find X resource.
- Player does the above.
- Jedi exp in pitifually small amounts is awarded.
- See step 1 until you have 24 Force Sensitive boxes.
Based on the DEVs previous level of creativity, this is going to be a version of Knight Trials. In order to accomidate entertainers and artisians, the "destroy / explore"missions will be replaced with "escort /delivery" or "entertainer / survey" missions. Why not just add in a Jedi exp terminals where players can pull missions that give Jedi exp like BHs? It'd be a lot less work to implement and would accomplish the same thing as what the devs will come up with.

If I had to guess from the post I would say it's Dagobah. 8)
I think Aurilia is a fine idea TH, certainly better than the HoloGrinding.
The quest journal seems a bit incongruous to the current system but not an unwelcome addition. I'd recommend that if you are going to add that mechanic to the game that you make it have wider implications than the FS system.
My concerns on this system follow.
1. Aurilia being overrun. But looking at the post it would seem that the village is on a different planet so likely it would be like the corvette a separate location that you can travel to, and hopefully it would be instanced.
2. Mindless tasks. Don't make it a laundry list mission for the combat professions. I think a special schematic for crafters is fine, I think location based missions for dancers/musicians is fine (or something like 'Simon' where they have to pass a dancing test by mimicking another dancer etc. But whatever you do don't make it take this letter to joe. Or kill X bugs.
I can't imagine that you have had enough time to come up with enough content to make this meaningful. Or that you will have enough time. The player base has had a lot of ideas regarding the FS mechanic but I can't imagine that you'll have time to implement them fully. To make a lot of this stuff meaningful you'd need thousands of different missions of varying types. A delivery, a riddle, travel, schematics, special dances. I'm just really nervous that it won't be rich enough. Ya gotta try to make it rich. It'll be the last straw if it isn't.
Good luck. I really hope it works out.

Do you like the city?:
Yes:
- It gives a bit of a Jedi feeling.
- It gives safety
- It gives Jedi the time to be at ease for BH
No:
- Spammers?
- Lag?
Question:
Tef? Will it be put back in then, cause the jedi have a safe place.
Mysterious? I don't like the idea of some people able to get it and some not, just depending on luck. Everyone the same chances.
Quest journal?:
Yes:
-It is the best thing for RP'ers and it will give more of a quest system/feeling.
Conclusion:
I don't want it to be mysterious like the old system. Everyone the same chance. Not someone that nds to do 7 professions and one 32.
Make the story GOOD. Make it so that you read the quest. The normal NPC quests aren't rewarding. Put info they will nd in the comment of the NPC, so they are forced to read it. Make it balanced.
Make it so that you encourage people to get a jedi, but not that much that they all go. We nd crafters too.
There are loads of things I would like to see in that village. There are loads of things you can do with this. Get some people that correspond decently on this to give their point of view. It will help you making a game for us. See the input of some normal players. For many people it's the suscribe or cancel button publish. Do this publish good. I and a lot of people belive in you guys. Don't rush it.
Friendly greets,
Rubiburn

I like both ideas!
Concerns:
Do I need combat skills? I am a tailor/merchant without any combat skills.

How does one get approached by the NPC or is that the 'secret' part of the equation?

hi,
I don't fully agree that this is a splendid idea. But it seems to be more feasible instead of hologrinding.
Well, the heck, after 19 professions and nearly a whole year of playing I want some loving. Launch this village thing
! And give me my Jedi, I pay for it
Kind regards

Cute. The Village of Aurilia. And the land is Rich.
You do know that MLB shortstop Rich Aurilia was dropped by the Mariners recently?
