I too am happy and pleased to see the probot on TC. I am still very concerned about the probot taking five generic service modules as a side effect of the combat module revamp, and want to see some feedback on that issue. If that is not a bug, then the probot will be a better utility droid than the R2. That would be a horrible step backward for the professions non-combat functionality.

I assumed it was not a bug, and am sorry about that if I am mistaken. So please, tell me its a bug that is going to be fixed before this goes live.

Currently what I am seeing is an Adv Probot with a Cluster of 3 combat modules with and additional 2 added when final product is built. This means that the R3 will be our only hope as THE best combat droid available. TH stated that 6 100% experimented combat modules would be needed to make the best combat droid available.

IMHO an Astromech does not make a combat droid. It would be better to modify the Adv Probot schematic to take 2 Combat clusters hence reaching the 6 combat modules required to make the best droid. The slot for cluster should also allow for a General Component cluster if the 2 combat clusters are not used.

From my calculations and crafting observations, the ADV Probot is still on top of the food chain, when it comes to combat droids. The maxium damage Adv Probot appears to be 110 -130 damage, .35 To Hit, and 1.5 Speed. The maxium damage Adv R3 appears to be 70-80 damage, .35 To Hit, and 1.5 Speed. I haven't played around with all of the combonations, but the Adv Probot still appears to be the best at what it does. At least until something else comes out down the line.

Making SWG more Star Warsy. One droid at a time.

Those are great stats - comparable to the Pre-nerf Probot. I have doubts that they will make it live this high (the first round seemed low-ball, this one seems rather high), but it's a huge step in the right direction.

Information seems to keep crossing threads, but you confirmed on the DE forum that current Probot Chassis will work in the new schematic - has that Chassis schematic changed? I'm not understandig if the chassis has a combat cluster module, or if the final deed has the CCM and the additional two slots? In other words, are the combat modules divided between the chassis and the deed or are they all in the deed?

Thank you,

I just answered my own question - Jenden's excellent page has been updated since I last visited ( http://jenden.endofinternet.net/testcenter.html ).

I do have a suggestion- because of the additional requirements of five Droid Brains in a Probot, is it possible to eliminate the final Droid Brain required for the deed? Seven brains for a Probot (including the one required for the chassis) seems a bit excessive.

Hahahahahahaaaaaaa!

It's pretty funny when the most excited I get out the Droid Invasion is all the cool new components we're getting.......

Because I like to DECORATE..........

Not because I think they'll be much use.......

I can hardly wait!

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

Hello combat droids are not legal !

I hope that everytime when anybody walks into a npc city with a combat droid next to him,
two dozen stormtroopers will spawn and attack instandly.

Hello Droids are not like spice that you can hide in a pocket or Backpack !!

Everybody with a combat droid in his inventory or datatpad entering a npc city (faction doesnt matter) should get attacked by spawning oimperial troops !

Gimme a break Dwarf. Combat droids are illegal, but having a trained Kimo or Rancor that kills on demand is not. How is this different besides being totally unfaithful to the SWG universe ?

I never said that the huge pets shouldnt be illegal.

I think everything bigger than a bantha, and all naturally aggressive pets should be illegal too !! But that is another point !!!

The big difference is that all all Combat capable droids in this time are millitary equipment and highly illegal.

To compare it with the real world !!

It is absolutely possible that i own a elephant but nobody will allow me to own a tank !

1. If it's military equipment - make them only usuable by faction members yet constructed by DE's.

2. Cloning is outlawed too. Funny how that works.

3. There is no real-world comparison nor justifcation for anything because this is not the real world.

Droid invasion hmm what a joke, you telling me after pub7 comes all im going to see is more advanced probots omg how BORING. I wonder if anyone on galaxies team is creative at all. Give them at least 5 new combat droid models, each with their own pro/cons. Also make it so you have to spend skill points to use the higher droids and make them expensive for a really good one lets say a droideka(ar1,8kham,300dmg) yes you must be like thats insane, making ch in effect useless ,o well you should make a whole new profession for commanding droids then. Im going to be so mad if all i see are a few more probots and R2s running around .This will give gamea MUCH bigger star wars feel which its currently lacking (hardly and droids or jedi, which is what star wars is all about)
