Thread: The Path of the Jedi: Reckoning of Effort

This makes little sense. In one statement, TH says that those who HAVEN'T hologrinded at all are in "Group 4" and are gated, and in another breath he says "if you qualify under the NEW system, you are eligible for a visit immediately."
Well, I didn't hologrind at all - in fact, I've never owned a holocron, except for a Sith Holo that I keep as a decoration. I've done 5 professions in the year I've been playing - Tailor, Merchant, Marksman, Teras Kasi, and Artisan, and there's no way that I hit all 5 holo-professions by blind luck. But, I've done all the POIs and have enough other badges to be "one with the force", so I qualify under the new system.
Well, which is it?
Should I expect a visit in the next 72 hours? or in the next 72 weeks?
?????
AFK grinding > Playing the game. Actually in front of the computer?
We all played the game and I'm kind of tired of this sense of entitlement people who hologrinded have. How much of this effort that you should be rewarded for was setting up your computer and walking away from it for 8 hours? Leaving the game running while you were asleep? AFK camping the Geo cave?
Mine = 0 hours.
The grind for grind reward is fair, but other then those that unlocked between 9 and 10 the old man should have been random.

Well it would seem you are wrong i did all 32 professions, ive been all day reading the no0bs, crying about not doing the old holo system, when they knew it could be the path to Jedi, and yet still didnt, and now crying about it. I'm sorry but guys, i pay the same ammount you do, i mastered all 32 at the KEYBOARD, and im sorry you guys can't be patient and let the folks that grinded out their souls to be a Jedi , not a casual player, have their day in the sun, although i havent gotten a visit from the old man i know that soon my time will come, and for that i do not regret the countless hours grinding my professions, yes something i did enjoy very much!
,Learning about the people, who will wait till the last minute to whine they dont get a jedi. I cant seem to figure out why the half that cry about not being visited are running all over the planets trying to do all the POI's and Quests, if you are not interested in being jedi, seems like the old Fox and Grapes story, 'well if i cant reach them i didnt want them anyways. 'Now i know a lot of you are going to flame me for this, and if so then have at it, its all good, this is a game i bought it to be a Jedi ,and i learned Quicky that grinding and not Cybering in the game, or Getting married, the regular role playing that i know some of you enjoy, was the only way to get what i wanted, what i paid for. To those that started thegame to late, im sorry this game has been out for over a year, bad timing maybe, and maybe you still think it is, but i will continue to play this game until the servers no longer cease to run. This game is prob the Best online MMORPG that i have ever played and yes grant you there are problerms in this game , can anyone point out one that doesnt? Just 1? For The jedi i will say this, this has been named the Jedi revamp, and yeah they revamped it alright, the robes dont work, force regen is so slow its pathetic, and they didnt get a reroll for the things they changed due to all the PVP role players in the game. If you dont like Jedi being in the game, go play Star Trek, no jedi there, If you have no patience, Flame and Cuss till you get banned, it will still not change the fact that yes we all have to wait, even me.

Your absolutely right, and I play this game with blasters. I have for the last 13 months. What others do with their "GAME CHARACTER" in no way influences my gameplay or my feeling of being in the SW universe. The actions of others and their perception of this game have no bearing on my "GAMING" experience. Each time I log on to SWG, I am re-living those backyard blaster/lightsaber battles of my childhood. This has nothing to do with "truth", "falsehoods" or "fanaticism." It has everything to do with looking at the acorn and seeing a thriving civilization (just in case"anyone" missed it, that was a reference to the ability to think divergently in regards to this GAME).
Good defense.
Question thou, do ye PvP a lot?
Hummm... Good Response.

To answer your query, as often as my abilities to stalk my prey will allow. The thrill of hunting a Jedi (I hunt alone, with few exceptions), and the excitement of pulling out my favorite carbine in a crowded cantina, far out way getting my arse handed to me (with a few exceptions) after the initial 3 - 5 minutes. After all these months, it still takes me a half hour to come down from these encounters.
I would have to acknowledge the point you are making has some validity. I can see how those involved in the GCW might be frustrated with balance and continuity issues. My approach to the game definitely differs from those that enjoy (or wish to enjoy) the GCW and PVP aspects of SWG. I have to admit, I have a few years on a vast majority of those participating in SWG, so the "investment", whether monetary or time in general, has a lesser impact on my perceptions as well.

It will depend on how many of those 5 professions were holo-professions. This announcement is primarily for people who were trying to finish 32 professions to unlock. Because there was such a strong correlation between how many TOTAL professions were completed and how manyholo-professions were unlocked, its a fair guess that if you finished better than30professions, you are in the "automatic"crowd.
If youentering into the path based on the new system, then it will depend on if you have met all the requirements.
To be clear:
Lets say Player A has completed 32 professions before publish 10.
Player B has met all the requirements of the new path before publish 10.
Both player A and Player B are eligible for visits by the old man.
