ok here are mythoughts on this, i think the new jedi system is STUPID, i dont want it to change but i think should happen is make the quest a second option to becoming a jedi so you have a choice of doing the holocron professions or doing the quest to unlock FS slot, the no perma death i like but its just the quest part i absolutly hate.

taking away the loss of all skills is a really stupid idea. is this becuase of all the whining these "initiates" do??? if so, they knew from the beginning that that would happen. and if not, you guys suck. why not just make it a starting profession stupid.

So wait...

Is the holo grinding obsolete already? And if it is how is the slot unlocked now?

I havent worked hours and hours grinding professions for nothing. I liked the profession based jedi, its alot of work and people that shouldnt be jedi, usually dont put in that kind of time. If all my professions mean nothing and i'm basically starting over the same as every other lazy moron, i will be ending my subscription. I do like the new death system. Kinda of stupid for a jedi to grind to become a dark jedi and then die and be busted down to lowly rebel status.

Change the name to:

JEDI ACADEMY!

So now that it is hard enough to find quality armorsmith and weaponsmiths and so forth, no it will get even harder and the idea of a community economy will die. IMO

Ok let's see:

Alot of people wants (as far as I can determine):

1) A clarification. Are you changing the system to BECOME a jedi or the system of BEING a jedi.

2) Another death system. Haven't read all pages, but it seems like the majority agrees that this new system is just too **edit** forgiving.

3) A focused effort on the developer side to find a system of unlocking Jedi slots that will LIMIT the population instead of delaying it.

4) A way to maintain a rate of jedi's to ensure continuity is maintainedwhile ensuring that all players can get the slot (IMHO not possible, but who knows...)

This is just what I can determine from the posts so far so if you disagree, TOO BAD.

Persoanlly I think the permadeath is the best solution... It helps keep the rate of jedi's down and makes sure that only the ones trully dedicated to playing a Jedi for real keeps at it.

I started playin this mmorpg because it was the only large one that had the balls to apply real permadeath.

Short rant on Topic:You've got to at least keep the PD if you're gonna let more jedi in the club, if only to keep some consistancy with universe, keep the player econ. afloat and give the (currenlty pointless) Bounty hunters some real targets.

Lets keep the jedi population down by having permadeath for everyone. This will prevent almost all players from even being able to get through whatever (insert word here)-grind is put in place to get to Jedi. No reason to have permadeath for just Jedi...it will work equally well on everyone.

Actually after reading my joking/sarcastic suggestion I see another benefit....money sink. Think of how much money can be taken out of the economy if everyone was dieing and losing their weapons, armor, and credits permanently...the player economy would be booming trying to replace all these items.

I like the idea of a quest based path to jedi and I think it should have been that way all along. The only thing I am interested in knowing a definite answer to is if the latest group of holocrons will remain useful or become shards like the last group of holocrons (which you could farm on several themepark quests). I would hope the devs could just give a YES or NO answer to the question: Will the holocrons we received for Christmas and loot now be useful after the jedi profession revamp patch?

Any kind of reply from *REDNAME* here would be most appriciated...

If I read the PD changes right I dont think it is as forgiving as you would think... You get 3 free death points after that you start losing entire skill boxes... If you continue to die you could essentually go back to newb status... Losing an entire box of a prof is rough... but imagine it being that 4th box of combat xp in an elite prof.... I think that is like box 1 of a padawan....

I would like to give it a chance, but I am not a jedi yet... 1st holo said wepsmith... on my fifth mastery since 1st holo and still refuse to do wepsmith... I dont want to grind my way to jedi.... I want it to have a meaningful and fun road to enlightenment...

I think everyone should have a jedi... after the major jedi wars is over you would see alot less jedi's....

not sure if this has been said or not...but it would be cool if u could make like a jedi faction.....and have only jedis be able to join that one....because with all the jedis on the imperials and rebs....gonna make PvP terrible.....

This sounds great. Although I haven't gotten my jedi yet, it must be nice to not have to worry about LD deaths as much.
