I must say that I'm impressed with the drop increase of the heavy duty leather, must have looted about 7 or 8 sets off some ewoks and nightsisters in aperiod of about 3 hours...

out of about 60 or so ewoks killed I only got one color crystal and the numerous nightsisters dropped nada...

I havent been able to test on TC thanks to my Jedi being Nerfed on the reset (All I got to allocate was my FS skills then it said training completed) but here is just a humble jedi newbs opinion

We go down this road and there will be no light jedi council.
remember these lines (or something along those lines)
A jedi uses his power for defence only never for attack
Fear, Hate, Angression the dark side are they

and yet we have to kill kill kill kill kill kill to get crystals BAH

I may want to protect sweet fluffy ewoks not slay them

oh and another thing. Having different jedi specialisations is cool so you can have healers and stuff.
Best thing ever. Cept if you want to specialise in being a healer and play a somewhat passive jedi you got no chance of moving up the jedi council as you have to kill kill kill kill kill kill to stay there

I can't believe how utterly dissapointing this "revamped" system for obtaining crystals and maintaining a lightsaber has become

I can camp these mobs for an entire day- 3 buff sessions or more, even, if i get lucky to get them, and not get a single thing. Killing hundreds upon hundreds of these npc's for 9 hours straight and not loot a single thing we need (pardon my honest opinion here) is just redundant, boring, and foolish. The entire system ends up being a camped-out, ninja loot fight in one area, competing with everyone that's just trying to get the same thing you are (on live, i see a nightmare coming). While I confess, I spend a lot more time in this game than a lot of players (guilty as charged) I feel very bad for the casual gamer that can't play for more than an hour or two at at a time- this system cuts them out of the loop at the first step on the ladder. I realize this system is still only in testing, and may be subject to change. I really, truly, sincerely with all my heart hope that it does, but frankly, I don't see that happening. It's too close to the publish datethe team has decided to stick firmly to, and at the risk of sounding corny, "I have a bad feeling about this..."

Perhaps it's just the cynic in me, but I forsee a lot of bad things happening with this.

As it is now, the problem of saber decay has not been improved, it's gotten much, much worse. No more ability to repair the saber itself. With crystals decaying faster than the saber decay rate on live, compounded with difficulty of obtaining a replacement crystal, saber life simply hasn't improved, it's only expanded on existing problems.

Think crystals or pearls are expensive on live now? Wait till this goes live. I'm pretty sure we'll see nothing short of extortion to the Nth power.

I'm sorry if I've ticked anyone off, and I realize i didn't exactly post the exact format that this thread called for. Quite frankly, I've lost count of the senseless killing. This is not a flame on anyone, just some feedback from a saddened player.

I seem to remember a thread/post from the in concept forum when discussing new possibilities for making jedi a more fun, enriched experience and making them more self-sufficient. The idea of /jediforage (which i'm sure has been debated at great length) struck me as interesting. While not having to be a forage command, the idea of simply exploring the game environment and "focusing your thoughts" to find a crystal out in nature, instead of simply slaughtering endless amounts of people, seemed like a wonderful idea to me, and honestly fits into the true Star Wars storyline so much better than what it looks like we have coming. I realize that this system is likely very difficult to implement. But my one question is, wouldn't it be worth it?

I truly hope this isn't the final system we will see. It's been said before, this publish is going to make or break the game for a lot of players. I can't speak for the rest of the playerbase, but i'm pretty sure i'm in the latter half as it stands now.

Well I have rambled on enough. Good luck team, and good luck testers. I hope this gets ironed out.

Keep in mind that they are asking for your experience with crystal drop rates for a reason... If they weren't looking at changing it, this thread wouldn't exist.

missions like the alderaan ones sound nice for getting good crystals/pearls I think... Why have to slaughter 100s of creatures?

still needs to be upped, when you can clear out the entire kunga stronghold and area around it multiple times and get no dmg crystals.

killed alot tusken and got 0 crystals

    -------------

    crystals decay way to fast

color crystals should be craftable. period (never a jedi should depend on loot just to be able to use the saber.

dmg crystals you can leave as dropped loot but some less rare
