Thread: Crafting Experimentation Changes... resolution.
Galaxy copy is the real hope hear devs, please do it.
take some money out of the game and you will start to see some balance begin to take place as people actually have to start learning that six letter 'B' word...
way to go, devs.. slowly but surely you are beginning to restore some of that faith i used to have in you...
I think the intentions where right, but the solution was not. Something still needs to be done about the crit fail rate as compared to master and novice. Something needs to be done about experimentation, as compared to benefit of sucess/cost of failure. You guys had everything right except the affect of resources on experimentation, which was already covered in the original design, which I feel was correct from the start. The other changes you had in mind were correct though, and I hope you bring those out in another publish.
Thanks for listening.
No wait, I changed mymind, it's a good idea! LOL
Thanks for not making this drastic change.
That's not to say there should never be any change.
I think you guys should think about more subtle changes that do three things:
- Ensure that someone who has worked to a high level (two 4's or more) and who has access to REASONABLY high quality materials as found in the game, can make a DECENT weapon/stim/tool that will sell -and kick some scaley alien butt.
- Work in the real game economy, i.e., the one where people can stockpile items, and the one where people are good at gaming the top stuff.
- Give experienced, active, productive Masters the opportunity and ability to craft some things that truly put them at the top of their profession, galaxy-wide.
Why don't you have a chain of minor fires in the code, and have to deal with them and unfortunatly leave this in through, say, next Monday, revert, and then get feedback, maybe via popup in the Holocron....
Just an idea.
G,
Thank you for taking the player feedback into consideration and making changes accordingly. This demonstrates to me that the developers are willing to take ANY step neccessary to make this the most fun MMORPG to date. I look forward to future publishes and the Space Expansion with great anticipation.
Also, I have completed 29 professions in my quest to open the FSCS.Where is my Jedi? ![]()

If we craft with high quality resources (like in my testing on TC) and end up with superior results compared to what we normally get and make schematics, the schematics will not be reverted with the hotfix will they?
With due respect I think this is unfair thinking. We're lucky we got what we wanted; it would be highly dishonourable to take advantage of it.

Thank you!
I agree the intentions were goo, but hte solution wasn't going to have the intended effects
That is why I (and many others) argued against it. I'm not against "nerfs" as long as they result in adding more fun into the game. I'm interested to see what you devs come up with to resolve the problems you were trying to adress. Hopefully this whole "episode" helped focus and sharpen your ideas so next time all we can say is "wow great idea!" ![]()
I'll keep my fingers crossed!
