Stat migration should be left as is.I don't want anyone but myself messing with my stats. Besides,stat migration has nothing to do with IMAGE designing. Key word there,IMAGE. Grr!

You guys care to read, right? Stat migration still works on TC.. got it?
Now if the Devs say it's a bug and really take it out, then you may have a reason to cry, but right now it's a non-issue.

This is a really bad idea. Right up there with requiring players to master several professions to unlock a Jedi slot (and in the process totally screwing up the entire economy of the game. Great call there guys). This ID change just makes absolutely no sense. You take an ability away from everyone in the game so that you can attempt to make a class, that should never have been in the game, useful. Really you guys should just admit your mistake, remove the ID profession, and spread their skills throughout the entertainer tree. I really doubt anyone would care. The holo-emotes, while looking neat I guess, are really out of place in the game. Rather than focus efforts on stuff that maybe 2% of the people in the game care about, why not do something that the other 98% DO care about. Making this game actually feel like Star Wars.

And this "mini-publish"is the reason we wait an additional month for the Death Watch Bunker?


This may be all very well and good for Image designers who would likely prefer this to the DW bunker, but for the rest of us we get screwed over for the 100.000000 time. Back when the Geo dungeon went live, we were assured a new dungeon for each publish. If publish 9 is getting the death watch bunker then we want to know why and if I am correct and these ID changes are the reason, well If I were responsible for the image designer content, I'd be equipping my flame proof jackets and have plenty of doctor blankets at the ready, cause I can see things REALLY hotting up. The image designer tents and stationswere added with the droids rebuilt update, so why on earth weren't the rest of the features???

What about SCARS?


I think there should be scars too. If you got hit really badly (especially by melee weapons) you will get a scar by that wound. There should be scars on heavyly hit body parts from time to time. And those scars should only be removable by image designers. It would give them or at least could give them a steady cash income.


It alsou would be a lot easier to play the old nasty mercenary

Absolutely agree with you on the holo-Jedi, disagree that the ID class should not be in the game. Why? Because there are non-hologrind ID masters out there. Given that, some people want to play them and that is all the reason there needs to be for the class to exist. This is a roleplaying game and for many who are not typical gamers this means that the social aspects are far more important than combat. Combat junkies can can get their FPS/RTS fix in many games, and combat in SWG is very prevalent (and fun IMHO) but to say that a class shouldn't exist because it doesn't match your style of gaming is a little narrow-sighted. I really would not want to play an ID but I support fully anyone who will gain their enjoyment from that. Given the high level of customisation available for characters, theprofession is a very logical and handy one. I know a lot of characters look kind of the same but there are enough people who want a distinct look.


As to not being Star Warsy,I imagine there are IDs in Star Wars, look at Amidala! Now, we need more ott ID work like that I think.


I doubt the dungeons are being held back by ID changes, most likely the ID changes are running late. I doubt they are the same design people involved, and even if they were, dungeons are not that important to a lot of people but more social content is. If I want to have a good bit of quest adventuring I can play KoTOR or similar, mmorpgs offer interaction with other people that you don't get elsewhere in computer gaming (ie, not just shooting them).

Makaldren, I read TH's post and I understand what he posted.
That means:

1. It's a bug and migration will really be removed. But.. the complete system for migration is still in. Why would they leave it in and then post such a statement. I mean, the new ID UI is setup completely different. I have no idea how that 2 things would fit together.
That makes me belive that

2. TH is misinformed.


Let'stake it(or hope if you prefer that) that 2. is true. At least for me that makes most sense.

Yup, I hope 2 is correct (and it has happened before kind of with decay)but Rogue_5 posted the same sort of thing. I imagine it would make sense leaving the old system in just in case of unforseen bugs or a turn-around in light of feedback occurs. It would also make sense to give TH a line, see what kind of a hornets nest is stired up and then not go through with the change without making it look like the devs are back-peddaling, but that is a little more cynical than I hope is the case.

Well, if you change some code you always keep a backup of the old code (better say you should keep). Now if you need to change it back you just need to copy the old subroutine back in. If you coded properly you don't even need to change variables. On the other side, we talk about SOE Take the last sentence as a joke


Your hornets nest idea might be very possible. Maybe they learned from the crafting change and now just test reactions before doing a change, tho there may be better ways to do it *rolleyes*

Curious........


How many other online games let you change your stats after creating a character?????


Giving the Image Designers this sole ability is not really a bad thing.


Lets look at it this way,

Old Way: Stat migration could take several days

New Way: Stat migration could take up to 10 minutes.


You do the math.....


As for finding a Image Designer, join a PA or become buddies with one.

(the stat change will cost you at the most, a few credits or some chat time)


Stop whining and start playing....................
