Last night I completed the artisan quest. I had expected the CDEF rifles to disappear from my inventory but they did not. Other than that, no problems with the artisan quests.

I believe a few better starting locations would be Tyrena and Mos Eisley. When I was in beta can you guess where I started? Mos Espa on Tatooine. I was such a noob that I ran all the way from Espa to Bestine. I didn't even think about a shuttle. Maybe that's just stupidity or ignorance but be sure to explain the transportation system also.

Try running from Mos Espa to Wayfar doing some 900 credit delivery mission as a novice scout playing the game for the first day. I didn't know anything about shuttles, having to avoid a lot of agros, and I think I actually died, and had to start all over. Took me about 2 hours... hehe, fun experience, but sheesh, did get tiresome.

I would also like to add, please, PLEASE have some kind of faction related info's in the helper droid, trust me it will save you a lot of headache. I remember when I first became a rebel, I remember that there was an ability to go overt or covert. However, one thing the manual forgot to mention was about TEF. I thought the overt imperials were exploiting some kind of pvp exploit forcing me to go overt, when in fact I was actually TEF'd (wish the little TEF symbol was up there when I first started).

Anyways I made a huge rant, then people explained to me about TEF. IE you kill any faction related npcs, trade, or heal them, you get a TEF. There should be 4 things in the helper droid that should bementoinedon how to get a TEF: Dragging an Incapped overtplayer, or a TEF player(which I think needs to be mentioned highly since a medic can get it at Diagnostic 2), healing a overt or tef player, trading with an overt or tef player, or doing faction related missions that involves killing faction npcs.

Also another nice thing that would be GREATLY appreciated (and I know it's a bit off topic) is the ability to see people on the same faction have a TEF symbol by their name in target, so the TEF thing don't spread around. Also, maybe some kind of comfirmation saying, "You are about to trade with a overt player of your faction, you will get a TEF, are you sure you wish to trade, same thing with healing, dragging incap, would also apply to TEF players of same faction.

I know this is sort of unrelated to the thread, but this post got me thinking...is there a way to check how old our character is?

That would be kind of cool. I know when I created my character and all, but it would be cool for others to see it.

I'm gonna have to go with the group and say starting out in Coronet and Theed is a bad idea. I didn't start hanging around this cities until well after I had gotten use to the game and knew that they were not represenative of the rest of the game. The spamming would definately be overwhelming and I'm sure the low FPS would be very discouraging to knew players. They would have trouble even walking anywhere on slower computers. Othe large cities on these planets (and tatooine)would seem to be much better, new players would get the chance to adventure with those at the same point in the learning curve, enjoy the new player missions without the lousy frame rate, and get a feel for the rental mounts and vehicles without making the conditions in theed and coronet worse. Honestly, people new to vehicles and mounts will be tearing around everywhere in the city they start in. This is something not possible in Coronet and Theed. It'll be as bad as when vehicles weren't storing properly and creating duplicates.

In response to many players' suggestions to change the starting city away from Coronet due to the lag as well as deciding to choose a decidedly more iconic Star Wars city as the first visual impression for starting players, we have decided to change the starting city to Mos Eisley. Thank you all for your input!

Great!

I know I was confused when my first character, a Mon Cal Medic, started on Rori.. It seemed a fitting match for a Mon Cal, but I think it was 3 days before I saw another player! Needless to say my next (and current) character started in Mos Eisley

thanks! I can't wait for this to go live...i am already trying to get groups together to be in the city on the weekends to help out with tips/advice/training...

knowing where to go to help out people will be nice!

I used to think they should be able to choose a starting planet (naboo, tat, corellia)...but narrowing it down to one city is even better!

good work!

Mos Eisly being the wretched hive of scum and villany that it is - doesnt seem like a nice newbie friendly place.
I started on test last night and instantly used my travel ticket to get to bestine.

I like this idea, although as has been stated : "wretched hive of scum and villany" could make for an interesting first time experience

I started a new character to test this out and had many problems, but those have mostly been fixed and now I have completed most tasks except for those involving interacting with many other players (entertainer) as there were only 5 people in the area (Bestine) at the time and I was one of the 5 so the task of getting 7 people to watch/listen was impossible and will remain so until possibly next weekend. Medic was another that required interaction with other players and is also a problem on TC, but I don't see either of these being a problem on the live servers--in fact it would probably not be a problem on TC if I played at more normal times instead of 3AM to about 6AM PDT.

Hi all:

I have accomplish the six proffesion Quests.

1.- Marksman, Artisan, Brawler, Entertainer, Scout where not bugged (24/04/2004) The msgs I saw and rewards worked.

2.- Medic had problems withh the last quest. It seems:

a) Either the counter of the playeres being tend dont work.

b) It says accomplish when done on the med center only onces. (I will test this this afternoon

3.- Rewards worked ok, I have test the ticket voucher and the cloning free ticket, both worked. Fireworks worked ok, Vehicle worked ok. Survey tools worked ok. Cash was ok and was added onto the bank. (100 credits for each quest except the last one that is 2000 credits )

4.- The experience was great however I am gonne list a few more rewards that I think would be nice:

a) A Survey Droid (5 uses) for Artisans.

b) A mount instead of a vehicle for scouts (5 uses).

c) Harvesting Droid for scout (5 uses).

d) Weapon with sope for Marksman and (5 medium power ups, so they can learn how to use it).

e) Brawlers (same as "d" for them).

This are some ideas

Hope it helps.
