TH,

Can we get a response as to what the devs consider "high end content."

I have played through the corvette many times, and I personally do not consider this "high end content" at all. On a scale. Of 1-10, I'd say the corvette is not even a 4 on content. The only thing I can find that was "high end," was the difficulty level of the mobs. Difficult mobs do not equal content. The only reason for difficult mobs in any MMO,and this has been confirmed by the devs on many occassions.is to keep players from breezing through the content too fast. There's nothing wrong with that, but the devs cannot add increasingly difficult mobs to cover up a blatant lack of content and storyline.

With the mobs as difficult as they are, the devs are purely catering to the power gamers with elite profession templates. This is something the devs swore to never do. They are cutting out the casual gamer. I welcome to be proven wrong on this point by seeing some metrics, but I think that they would confirm that only a very small population is being allowed into the new areas of the game... the power gamers. With a dungeon like the vette, which has many different versions, there could have easily been a stealth version involving less combat and more puzzle solving skills while leaving another harder version for the power gamers. Also, with the vette being instanced, it could have easily been scaled to fit the skill level of the players inside.

At the next meeting the devs have, please remind them all that difficult mobs and loot are not adequate. We need storylines! Not loot.

I hope that you will deeply consider all of this when discussing the upcoming death watch. Sure, the new jet pack is cool, but without some decent level puzzle solving and storylines, the new dungeon will be pure crap. After all, this is a role playing game, not a first person shooter.

Another couple of class ideas I had, and this would supplement the suggestion I made in a previous post about permanently increasing character stats:

Gene Witch: Master Doctor + Master Bio-engineer + 5sp + XP. By tinkering around with the genomes, this fringe scientist would be capable of modifying the genes and abilities of sentient (player) species and characters, allowing for additional stats and/or abilities. To balance, there could also be a chance of failure (decreased stat or undesirable mutation). Once experimentation is complete, you will have to die and when you re-clone, the new you appears.

Cybernetics Engineer: Engineering IV + Master Bio-engineer + 5sp + XP. This scientist would be capable of replacing body parts with robotic ones (such as Vader has). This might lend to greatly increased strength, quickness, or provide some types of additional bonuses or protection. Lots of possibilities with this one (i.e. skeletal hardening, subdermal armor, cybernetic eyes). Of course it would have to come at some cost to the recipient.

Elite Personal Trainer: Master Image Designer + ?. Carry Image Design one step further and have them able to more quickly help a character stat migrate, or permanently increase physical stats through intense training.

I like the badge revamp suggestions on the first page of this thread.

Graphical badges would be very good

Ability to desplay the badges you want and not the others (check boxes or something)

Oak leaf clusters or starson a badge(military people know what that is) for missions (like corvette) that are done more than once.

Ok I have just really been looking for time to right all this idea for the Jedi Proffesion.

- Becoming A Jedi

First of all as anyone knows who is a SW fan that certain people are very inclined to Force Sensitivity because of something called medioclorians. So my proposition is to base how you can even begin to train to become a jedi knight you must have a good medioclorian count. If you do not have a good medioclorian count you can still become a jedi but it is about as hard as grinding 16 holos. Now you may ask how do get good medioclorian counts. First you must be intouch with your surroundings and nature. Then you must master a proffesion that you are given by a Jedi given Holocron which only jedi's can buy off a certain NPC. The holocron will be very vague as to what proffesion you would have to master. It would say something close to that of a riddle and it would be your job to figure it out and master the proffesion. Once you have mastered the proffesion you must seek out a Jedi Knight which they will then use a device that jedi's can use to check the medioclorian count of a player. If the player has a high count of medioclorians then the jedi knight or another jedi knight can take the player under their wing as their apprentice. At this point then the Jedi Knight is able to give you special jedi holos that you used to get you medioclorian proffesion that will give you more riddles to 3 or 5 more proffesions that you must master. If you do not have a high enough count you probably did not finish the proffesion all the way through for example if you got a riddle that lead u to believe that you needed to master scout and you mastered it but you still do not have a high enough count that probably means you would need to master ranger to.

After you have master all the holos the jedi can give you then you can now unlock your FS slot. Then create of course a jedi player,

- Starting as a new Jedi

Once you start as a new jedi you need to once again find a jedi knight to be your master and he/she will need to agree to let you become their apprentice. Now here is something pretty cool i think. Because new jedi's are very weak and not at a level yet where they can take on others when they put up a tef when they use there lightsaber or force in a fight or hunting there is a secret jedi training ground. Only Jedi's will be able to access this planet at starports and when the space expansion comes out they will be the only ones with the waypoint of the planet i geuss you could say. This planet would mostl likely be Myrkr or The Lost Planet of the Valley of the Jedi. On this planet their will be a Jedi only themepark. The theme park is long an hard but made in a way that it will help you become a Jedi Knight by the end of the themepark. Quests given in the themepark will also require you to head to other planets to pick up resources etc or take out a BH that is threating a fellow jedi. When you are able to learn a skill you will have to meet up with you master to train you. The Jedi Trials will also like every themepark have rare items that regular jedi's cannot recieve unless they do the theme. Such things are:

1. Schematics for a double bladed saber

2. Schematics for dual sabers

3. Schematics for different hilts

at the end of the Theme you are given randomly a schematic for a double bladed saber or a dual saber schematic. you will not ever be able to repeat the theme once you have completed it because then you will be a Jedi Knight. Also on the planet an vendor NPC for jedi where they can buy Jedi Trainee Holos that you would use for your apprentices. Now a lot of people think that not many jedi are going to want to take on an apprentice but to continue down the Jedi path you must take on a apprentice. Some of the Skill tree branches will require jedi xp while others would need jedi apprentice xp. This way there is a continuious cycle of apprentices and Jedi Knights. The planet that the jedi would train on provides secrecy of those who are jedis who wish not to become know to other players. You do not have to do the Jedi Trials if you do not wish but it is harder and you do not recieve the jedi trials perks. Also for those who decided to do 16 holos to become a jedi once they hit their silent holo they can consenta Jedi Knight to buy for them a Jedi Trainee Holocron that will like the rest give them a riddle about the final proffesion rather than just stating master a proffesion like regular holos do.

I do believe that the idea of a jedi trials and jedi planet is the very accurate to jedi training in the story of SW. I know that it is very complicated but i think it does emphatize the role that jedis play with those who wish to become there apprentice. I feel that it is more accurate than just grinding holos and never having to take on or be an apprentice of a jedi. Just let me know what you all think.

-- Bounty Hunter --

just a quick thought - when you access the mission terminals you see who posted the mission i think that player should be able to place bounties on other players in the glaxy on the bounty hunter terminals that the bounty hunters can accept and be able to attack the target player just like they would of a jedi. Like the bazaars the player posting the mission for a bounty hunter would need to place the amount that you ar e paying the bounty hunter. If the mission is incomplete or expires before a boumty hunter can accept it you recieve your money back in full. Bounty hunters will get xp for fufilling the mission. I think this way it would really capture the power and deadliness and working for the highest bidder for bounty hunters.

-- New proffesion ideas--

- Pilot Skill Tree/ Fighter Pilot Skill Tree -

- Vehicle Engineer --

Right now Master Artisans are like Vehicle Engineers but i do think that their should be a new skill tree dedicated to space ships and vehicle makings. Pretty much you could do what watto does for a living lol.

-- New Factions --

Yes we all know that the main factions are IMP and REBs but i do really think that you should be able to be part of the Jabba faction and part of the Black Sun Faction (Xixzor)

--New Themeparks/ New Faction Perks--

One thing i am dissapointed about is that there is no Black sun POI. I think that you devs need to make a Black sun themepark with prince xixzor etc. Also when you do this themepark you should recieve the red ST looking armor that xixzor uses for his troopers.

Also we need more faction armor, helmets, clothes etc on the recruiters. For expample if you are an imp the regular armor that you can get is ST armor but when u say reach the Sergeant position you can now buy a wearable Srgt ST shoulder pad. Then when u get higher you can buy Scout ST armor, then Snow Trooper armor, and at one of the highest levels you should be able to buy Royal Gaurd armor. Also new bodysuits like the Deathstar trooper helmet and body suit, X-wing bodysuit and helmet, Y-wing bodysuit and helmet, Rebel uniforms (such as rebel commando helmet and clothes). Also i think one of the biggest things is that players NEED to be able to buy faction vehciles like the AT-ST, land (snow) speeder, and maybe even the AT - AT. They should not be npc pets like the AT ST is now it needs to be a vehicle. Also IMPs should be able to turn in certain resources to recieve fp for aiding in the rebuilding of the Death Star. Also Rebels and Imps need to be able to travel to theNebulon-B Frigateand Imps need to be able to travel to Star Destroyer from starports. Also imps need to have the stormtrooper backpack instead of a light weaight military backpack.

-- New Items --

-Infared Goggles for night vision alows players see farther and more clearat night time and on dark planets and in caves

- electro binoculars - allow players to use to scout further in the distance but can only be view from 1rst person view.

-- New Weapons --

- Rail Detonator/ Seeker Rail Detonator - usable by Commandos

- Imperial Repeater Rifle - fast speed imperial perk gun.

- Concussion Rifle - i am sorry but this is a must it is one of th coolest guns ever used in SW bossk uses one. Available for Master Riflemen

- Carbonite Gun - usable by Carbineers has modifiers to slow down enemies

-- New Planets --

- Bespin - I know bespin is almost impossible till the space expansion but when u do release it i beg of you plz let bespin be available it would be a great place for Pilots to get XP etc.

- Corsant - I know there is an issue of lag problems because of the grandure of the city but it is a center point of the SW story.

- Nar Shadda - Also a pinnacle point of SW.

-- ARMOR--

plz more armor and certification of armor!!! Like for example have Mandolrian armor VERY rare and only worn by BH's. Also I have a concept idea for mercenary armor that i can scan and send to you guys if you want it is based off the armor dash rendar wears. Also the BH wookie armor that chewy wears in the shadows of the empire.

-- Clothing --

MORE clothes plz such as make the cloaks be able to have the hood up or down by entering in a command like /hood on or /hood off. CAPES WHERE ARE THE CAPES!!!

Posted this to the Entertainer, Dancer and Musician thread, but don't know if it was in the right place, so I'll repost here.

Forgive me if this has been suggested prior to this post:

I was on test center a few days ago and noticed that the Image Designer vendor areas have been added to cities. Nice touch! This made me think about a couple of things.

First, I haven't seen very many Image Desginers running around in my 2 months of SWG. Maybe 2 that chose to display their profession flag. Does this profession need more appeal? More interaction with other professions? Here's a solution:

A new quest type for smugglers! Recon, or whatever you want to call it. In order to complete his mission, the smuggler must have his appearance temporarily or permanently altered by an Image Designer or Entertainer, be it an NPC or a PC. The better the Face Form skills thedesigner has, the better the chance that the smuggler will succeed in his mission. Provide Image Designers witha new schematic for temporary alterations to a PC. This alterations fade over time, so the smuggler must achieve his goal before the effects wear off. Of course, permanent alterations will be harder to see through, and stand a better chance for success.

I was wondering if something could be put in toease the pain ofall the spam advertisers at the Starports

I was thinking some sort of command that would auto-ignore /shout and /yell speech from other players

I've seen it before in a MUD, I think it was something like /earmuffs.....

That waypeople could pass through Coronet without being attacked to badly by the lag-beast, but could turn off the command if they were there to buy things

I for one would be able to reserve my ignore list for those people I really wanted to ignore and not just those who were trying to sell me things.

Thanks for listening

I was thinking about jedi last night. I myself don't have one, but a lot of peeps in my guild do. They are always talking about not having any defenses and that is suppsoed to be fixed.

Here is my idea:

I think there should be a bonus for a jedi and a padawan to be grouped together like squad leader. I mean in the movies we see a master and a padawan and we see a sith lord and apprentice. I think it would be more true to see 2 jedi's working together lvling than to go and hide and secretly do it out on dath and endor hiding and sneeking around. If you hunt and lvl with 2 peeps it is always more enjoyable IMHO.

Also this would be like the AP system and let jedi's get to know one another and help form new friendships and enemies. When the pvp system to lvl for jedi comes in, it would be nice to know who you can trust, and have a master/padawan relationship would seem to work.

Again you don't have to do a master/padawan, but if you did, maybe you could get a bonus to defense, or maybe the padawan will get more xp as the master will probably getting more since he can kill faster.

Just a thought.

A couple of things I'd like to see:

- the ability to place furniture on balconies, roof terraces of buildings and on the stage of the theatre.

- the ability for a Bio-Engineer to make a creature with flight! Even if it is just to fill all those birdcages that are around.

- more for the politician profession, like an involvement in a planetary senate or something.related to the GCW.

GameSpy:How do you plan to connect both parts of Star Wars Galaxies so that they don't devolve into two separate games? Will there be quests or content that requires you to do stuff on the ground and in space?
Cinco Barnes:The space experience offered by Jump to Lightspeed is tightly integrated with the Star Wars Galaxies ground-game adventure in many ways.
Great job of making the playstyle like X-W v T-F and bringing it to the best MMO platform out there!

GameSpy: Do players take off and land manually? Or is there some type of an automated "break" in the game?

Cinco Barnes: We don't want you to worry about learning how to land and we definitely want to be able to thrust you into the action immediately. You'll launch your starship from a starport, and be taken directly into space via a loading screen where you can immediately engage enemy ships or plot a course to another planet.

Do you play hockey? That was the best deke I've seen in the 2004 playoffs! I am very, very sad we'll see no player-piloted craft flying about the sky, and the battle of Hoth is just plain not possible now. I already had a group of people planning to get into base raids. I was also very interested in the how game would change with tie bombers. It looks like we are going to see very divergent worlds. If this leads to NO LAG space battles as the load should be miniscule I could come around to enjoy it, but much like the jedi saber duel video was A GIANT LAGLESS LIE I'm afraid we're headed to the choppy, lag-plauged future. The Devs are not capable of predicting the future, but they are certainly capable of predicting the rosiest version of a non-existant future. I wish I could find the post where officially they claimed that flying into the planet was the desired direction. Blackman's comment a few weeks back about "flying bomber missions over Tatoonie" was a carefully constructed statement indeed!

In regards to the Droid Engineer Profession,

Would it be possible to add more types of droids to the DE profession (example: destroyer droids or something similar). It would add to the ambiance of the Star Wars Universe...

I dont have the timeto look through the whole thread soI will assume that it hasnt been brought up:
I spend a lot of time waiting for the game to load up and was thinking that something interesting would be to make the players have access to put stuff up on the loading screen. How it would work is that a player city could submit a description and screenshot to be reviewed by someone from SOE. If the description and screenshot are good then it could get put up on the loading screen of the specific planet that the player city is in. It would make each server have a distinct quality and allow crafting cities to advertize to a greater group, you could even charge a maintanance fee or something. It would have to be something that only specific people like the mayor of a city would have access to doing and would be an extra incentive to get much like it is to get a shuttle in your player city. Just something I thought about while waiting for the game to load.
