Thanks for all the good information guys. This is a big help.
Thunderheart -
With all due respect, now that you have read this thread, I would strongly recomend that you edit your origonal post.
If people follow the insturctions in your origonal post, their items will be destroyed in 14 days after they do it.

No, TH, it doesn't because the damage has already been done and YOUR Csrs are already refusing to compensate. The whole lot of you deserver to be fired.
HA!
People are so entertaining when they get pissed off. Especially when a GAME as doesnt work 100% exactly as intended.
I own my vendors. I pay the maintenance on my vendors. So why do my items unlist in the first place?
Since when have you ever gone to a clothes store and found them empty because they decided to box up all their clothing and send it to the warehouse then put it back out..
Sales on vendors having a deadline is absurd to begin with. No matter how many days.
Great reading skills I might add.
Dont Forget the "Factory Strike of Q1 and Q2 for 2003" badge, that is the one i want

I did put in a CS ticket, but I'm not looking forward to the discussion with the CSRs. It isn't their fault either, but I am now having to face the reality that:
1) I have lost a lot of items on my vendor that the CSRs will probably only reimburse me for a portion of (the ones I KNOW I've lost and they can look up in their logs).
2) Vendors cannot be trusted. I now have to track the several hundred items I have on my vendor as well as when I put them on the vendor so I can withdraw the sale, retrieve the item, and put them back on the vendor prior to the 14 day wipe.
This is something that needs to be hotfixed. Not everyone reads these boards and even those that do feel quite a bit of pain with the existing workarounds. This is a game breaking bug!
Moving forward, I would like to see in game tools to do what I'm being forced to do out of game right now. I would like to be able to query my vendor for a variety of reports:
- Summary report of items sold in the last 24/48/72 hours, 1 week, 1 month.
- Sales summary report should include quantity, item name, price, and buyer. Make it so you can collapse rows as well (have one line that shows the quantity of "Large Potted Plant" sold)
- Summary report of items currently on the vendor (collapsed down by item name/price). For example, 6 large beds (on one line with the price).
- Make it so an option is available for the sale email we get to either not receive them, receive a daily summary, or continue being spammed with them as they happen.

Indeed, and these tools should even be off-game online web tools, á la AO character data as XML. I'm sure as heck that the community would rise to the challenge and create good tools for crafters, if only SOE did a little work on a modular back-end.
Thunderheart - something to consider - this patch with the 30 day timer has only been live about 20 days, so the process you are describing here which would take 37 days is not possible.
Best guess I have seen so far is that the item stays listed, but the old delete timer is sill there. So a listed item will be deleted in 14 days. To work around this, you must relist before your 2 weeks is up.

How about throwing some "good information" our way?
Like, what are you going to do to compensate those that have lost items?
And, why do we have to wait for the publish for a fix?

My problem is, I've always trusted my vendor. I dont know if anything has gone poof, wont be int he game until later tonite
. I'll see if i have anything left in it. I wouldnt even know what to claim because I build stuff and put in vendor and forget about it until i get the "Vendor sale complete" or the "unsuccessfull" message.
So, I am probably screwed.
Rollback???

The problem is when they take that game, throw so many hoops for us to jump through, make it feel more like work...and THEN we lose the reward for all that hard work when we bite and do it.
This *IS* the game for crafters.
And yes, as you point out - it's only a game. So why are CSRsbeing such tightwads about it? If it's only a game, why can't they just give people what they lost? Worried about balance, or proving it? Why...It's just a game? ![]()

Thunderheart, your post will ruin people. This does not reflect what is happeneing. Please dont let this disinformation remain on the boards like this.
FACT: After 14 days the items dissapear!
I just don't understand why legitimate merchants have to be punished because a non-merchant decides to take novice artisan, and grind up to business 3, tying up thousands of credits and 27 skill points just to have more storage space.
Face it, real merchants NEED the storage space. A non-merchant who wants it is giving up over 10% of his skill points and a fair amount of credits to achieve that storage. Just take limits off of sales on vendors and stockroom postings and be done with it. Save the CSRs and the crafters a ton of headache.
