Pt 3I'm very relieved to read this. My biggest problems were with the removal of the third pet and the lowering of Master CHs' max level of pets. I'm still concerned about one thing. Earlier it was said that Masters would have 2 pets so they could call a fighting pet and a mount. Does this mean a Master would be unable to call a second pet that is NOT trained as a mount. Will I still be able to call several lower level pets, or will I essentially be forced to call only my most powerful pet in order to use all of my available levels?

 Pt 3

I'm a BH / CH dabbler/exploiter. From what I've seen. CH is key to being able to tank and handle high level content in PVE. Using just BH skills I am toast on a Dathomir for instance as most mobs can kill me in one or two shots. Before I picked up CH I used Pistol Whip to keep mobs off me and still kill them (that was nerfed). I was also a big fan of lieing prone at max range with mask scent on and shooting. Usually you can kill something before it figures out where you are and can get in range of you. Now that Mask Scent breaks when you enter combat and prone warping is so insane that is gone. So I picked up CH so I would have a tank. This currently works for me very well. So in a nutshell CH=PVE Goodness.

Now onto PVP. There is no Master CH alive that will stand up to my BH I am convinced. You simply target, burst run, and spam your weapon shot of choice while avoiding their creatures. Result=Dead MCH. So in a nutshell BH=PVP Goodness.

There is nothing wrong with either class that needs to be nerfed. Just know that some classes are best at some things, others are best at other things. Thats how life is, we are all good at some things, not so good at other things. We can't all be exactly good at the same things (thats whacky).

Thanks....

Pt 3Very nice changes. Makes very good sense. I like how you left in the flavor of more pets active, but reduced the xp award to gain your desired effect. It's nice to see devs that find a way to meet their goals without taking the easiest, first way to do it.

It is not that I don't understand how the profession works, I understand you only have to have 3/2/0/0 to have a mauler. What I am protesting is that, for PvE and tanking, a graul mauler is BETTER than a gnarled rancor, and the average use of a graul server-wide is probably more for PvE than PvP, so I would consider PvE the part that matters.

In which case, the ability to control a graul mauler at 4/4/0/0 is considerably more damaging than the ability to control a gnarled rancor at 4/4/0/0.

As a 4/4/0/0 CH, I understand perfectly which pets I can and cannot control, and when they came into my possession. I do not consider myself an exploiter in the least, but I do see the problems with the current system. I use a graul mauler as my primary pet at this point, since I am max'd on skillpoints and have nowhere up to go in the CH line.

Hope that clears things up. And next time, please refrain from taking an underhanded swipe at my knowledge of the game when trying to make your point. A simple question for clarification asking if I knew that a mauler could be used at 3/2/0/0 would have been sufficient.

Im sorry but you not makeing a whole lot of sense. You are compareing useing a graul mauler in the new system to useing a garled rancor in the old. Both 4/4/0/0. If cl remains the same (And it wont) then you need to compare them in the same system. A gnarled rancor will take significantly more to use then a graul mauler under the new system.

No as for the point of a mauler being better then a gnarled rancor. That also is not really true. If all you want is a tank then sure, but they are two vary different pets and should be used for different situations. For damage the Rancor is better by a significant margin. This will be more important in the new system I believe.

But beyond all that it is doubtfull that Maulers will remain cl 34.

OK now this I like thanks for clearing everything up and not making it as drastic as a change. That is the one thing I always hate about MMO's they always go from one extreme to another and then come back to it far in the future in put it back to something more reasonable.

You guys have made changes that will keep pets from being completely rampant while continuing to make it worthwhile for a Master CH instead of just those that go up the training and taming tree.

You can always come back later and take away the +1 pet and +10 max cl in the future if these changes are still not enough.

Also like to hear about actually making ranks and class mean something when controlling faction pets and droids.

I realize that these changes may fix some of this problem, but I am REALLY concerned about the galactic civil war looking more like a zoo fest than a battle between rebel and imperial forces. I have a thread on this here:

If you look at the screenshots you will see the problem....

Well, the developers need to move Graul and Graul Mauler to CL 37 and CL 42... that would "tame" it down a bit.

Additionally, they need to introduce a new and improvedcombat version of the Probot and introduce a Droideka for combat purposes.

Thunderheart,

I have another question:

People complained about game balance of creatures (powerful CHcreatures), and about the prevalence of creatures (mostly about rancors and grauls in cantinas, but also some complaints about non-ch creatures like gurrecks).

You say the devs are going to fix the problem by nerfing ALL pets (creatures, droids, and faction pets). Goes a little overboard and doesn't make any sense because droids have no combat usefulness, and faction pets are only really useful in pvp, but whatever...

Originally you framed this as a nerf to ALL pets equally. Now you post today, and because CHs and their correspondant complaineddevs have reversed almost EVERY change that you proposed to pets that effect CHs, and NONE of the faction pet and droid concerns (other than vague comments aimed some time in the future). All that is left is:

(1) CH creature levels are redistributed in the tree (not much of a nerf...most are striving for master anyway)

(2) Non-CHs are limited to worthless CL10 creatures

(3) Non-CHs can have to choose between only ONE creature/droid/faction pet, the two latter ones being basically worthless in most combat situations.

So basically there is nothing left of the "creature" nerf except a non-CH nerf, plain and simple. However, there is no Non-CH correspondent. I don't get any feeling that anyone is listening to or consideringnon-CH views, and many of us are feeling really upset about this issue.

My question: How exactly do we get our concerns heard?

ok i see the direction this is heading...Not totally disappointed. However Master CHers should be able to use 2 pets no matter what......They got the title it should stand for something.

It seems to me you are really working on the dabblers, and that's good, but it makes more since to me to have the pets that they use rised to a higher lvl. For example GSPs moved up to 27 CL and Mauler Gurals moved to 35. Couple that with the tree re-arranging you would force them to take more boxs to use them.

I still got to say if a MCH can't call 2 pets to fight within the range limit im going to chunck it and go to another skill. I know that this seems childish, but you guys should read the bio you have for the Master CH box. "Often surrounded by powerful and vicious beasts....." or something like that... Lets live up to that and i think CHers will stay.

Thanks for the answers on the beginning changes to the entire game.

1) Please nerf all of the non-CH pets so they can use them. Also give the entire player base BIG TIME notice that the changes are on test and HOW they will effect the players!

2) With regards to one pet out at a time, please inform all of the players.....honest some overts may want to go covert if all they can have out is one faction pet, or one droid, or one creature that they can't call anymore.

3) When will the process of "redoing" all of the creatures begin. As a master I have used 3 20 something pets often. This is as important to the profession as redoing all of the skill tress!

4) Crowd control methods are: warning Shot, knock down, and using pets on each mob. Thanks for not taking away one of the methods.

5) Are you sure you want CH spamming dizzy with pet A, then knockdown, posture change and you say it has little effect, or the case of say a pistoleer health shot 1, health Shot 2, strong posion , weak posion mixed with warning shot, with a little 3-5 minute break in there?

6) So you are aware of this scenario in the future... rank maxed 1/2/3 faction pets, elite combat + 1/2/3 droids, + MCH + 1/2/3 pets and how is this different then what is happening now?

7) Please expand upon the mounts....As I read it now (probably/hopefully incorrectly) all non CH are limited to CL 10 mounts leaving a choice of 2 to sell from a MCH, but a BE should be able to make CL10of the other 4? Then he sells them to his truty MCH who trains them. Please add alot of mounts that are CL=10 and NOT from the birds. <talk about a change to kill the CH mount markets...wanna opps you must by a bird...you're too weak for a big animal>

8) formations and patrol...thanks for putting those back in, they are some of the fun elements.

9) I'm a little confused by the getting exp too fast. I was under the impression that the game was geared for the casual gamer. Why would you make it harder for him to get perks. I was expecting that you can master most skills by playing casually except the BH which is the elite of the elite?
