I understand you guys get frustrated and I can handle that, just try to help me think through challenges so we can get really good answers to challenge the devs with. FWIW, I do care very much and the reason this came up today is I went BACK into the pit to get this decay thing worked out.(and let me tell you, people hereare starting to groan when they see me coming....

Here is the important thing. There is a huge community for this game. Roughly 20-25% of the game community come by the boards and roughly 10-15% post regularly.
*inserts sap and corn*
If we make this a nicer place to be, more and more people come to the forums and get involved, conversations become more interesting and stimulating. We really can work through this to make this the most fun game possible and the best forums, but it takes time and cooperation.

First of all I know you guys work hard, and I AM NOT BASHING YOU,
but...
your post and Gs post make no reference to the fact that 99% of the people posting and playing want no decay on death for armor considering it decays just fine as-is. And maybe the whole fiasco can be rectified by making clothing decay in battle just like armor, only at a slower pace considering the condition limits. And how about the same for crafting tools? Every use they get a little worse until they break... And camp kits.... camp kits poof when you use them last I checked, no need for insurance there. Just tryign to help the game I love to become a game everyone can love.

So? This is how ANY kind of poll works. You will never get everyone who plays the game to come post here for numerous reasons: some accounts are 2nd, 3rd or even 4th accounts (although I wonder who'd pay that much money for the game in its current state), some simply don't have enough time, some simply don't care, some don't like having to registeron the message forums, some honestly don't know they're here, etc.
One thing I do know: I have yet to see anyone with an informed opinion (ie not trolling) disagree with the fact that PvP decay is annoying, frustrating, counter-productive and lame--in game or out..
You know.. The NASA guys have come up with a new phrase.. or maybe its old, i dunno, but they use it.. i like it... They call this stuff
Temporary truths.

The thing that I don't get and the point I think the Devs keep missing is "Who are they making this game for?"
Are they making this game to entertain themselves or entertain us? Normally we see a lot of people saying NERF this or NERF that...or begging for changes to their profession (or no changes)...etc...
But on this issue we see just about everyone united on how this is a VERY BAD IDEA, yet the Devs choose to ignore our opinion and keep with what they feel looks good on paper...
I ask JustG and TH...who is your hard work for? what is the point of what you are doing? If it's us, then why won't you listen to us and grant us what we ask for most?
I can understand turning down something that the minority is asking for, but when it's such a substancial majority making the request and extremely upset over, why wouldn't you want to make them happy?
Again...I ask you...why do you do what you do? Try listening to what your customers are asking for...it's not unreasonable and by giving us what we all are asking for here you show your intent is a Community Fostered Game...It's that social aspect that was a selling point of SWG...

But please proofread what you write in the future. Not once have I heard you actually admit that your words about decay were contradictory.
Statement 1: "Players will no longer have to insure their items after each death in PVP."
Statement 2: "The reason is because there is no way to tell the difference between a "PvP Death" and a "PvE Death""
The intelligent community caught this mistake immediatly but from scanning through the entire thread I still have not seen a direct response to this. Can we at least get a promise that there will be an effort to make correpondance logically sound?
TH, don't worry, we all groan too when we see you coming ![]()
But there are other things that really concern me about the Imperial Crackdown here:
1) Rebels being turned Overt when being scanned (from your post). If this is true, the jedi profession is completely messed up now since we all start as covert rebels and cannot talk to faction recruiters to go covert.
2) Sliced armor - Armor has to be sliced for all races but humans really to wear them. Is this part of the new HAM combat system that is coming through? If so, is this coming out at the same time as the Imperial Crackdown.
3) Sliced weapons won't be shown as being sliced until Publish 7, it really seems like you're putting the cart before the horse on this one, it's unfair to penalize people when you're not even going to disclose to them what they have.
There are some very good examples of his communication in action: The quick improvements to the scythe, and the long-awaited small improvements to a couple pikeman weapons. When he was pressed about this, things happened that hadn't happened since the beginning of the game.
