So why cant a clone be just..a clone?

You return to whatever state you were in when you saved the clone data, buffed or unbuffed no matter, you just return in your normal state, hungry and unbuffed?

Similarly, if you store clone with wounds, those wounds should be there when you activate a clone.

Where is the harm in that? Genuinely, If i'm missing something simple here, please tell me

Any loss from your original state is just not a clone...

Yes, but when you store your "clone data" it's not a replica of you. It's your genetic information. Which includes a blueprint of your being (dna) but not what foods you ate 3 hours earlier.

Back to the original topic of this thread. What does number 3 mean?

3. Added quest progress info for the final quest for each profession.

Does this mean the new quest system of becoming Jedi is now in place? So we should give up on the holo grind. Is this something else?

The Corvette is difficult now due to not being able to clone on board and having a limited time available. What if stomach's emptied on death? Your TKA/Swordsman combo would heal themselves, use food and drinks to buff their stats, then go back into the battle. They could do this 20 times until the mobs were defeated. Make this 10 TKA/Swordsman combos and the Corvette would be a cakewalk.

Doctor Buffs need a Doctor and either be in a city or have a droid handy. Also there are specific resources required. Entertainer buffs need no resources but need specific locations (no droids here..) and take much longer. Spices can be taken by anyone, anywhere but have significant downers. Chef buffs can be taken anywhere, by anyone, and have no downers. Some downside must be in place or, possible exploits aside, there would be no balance between chef buffs and the buffs from the other professions.

You allknow the advantages/disadvantages of each buff type -it is up to you to decide which buff type touse.

I am glad to see there are a few people here who can see the possible exploits that instant thirst and hunger decay would bring.

On PvP ... if food was instant decay you would w/o a doubt see people dieing/revenging .... dieing/revenging. Not to mention the PvE facts stated above. Sorry guy the Devs have a case so all you anti SOE people have to find something else to whine about.

Actually, the dieing/revenging thing is the only possible bad part to warrant not completely resetting buffs/stomach. But, since this change also affects PvE people, shouldn't they be concentrating on PvP death instead of secondary effects such as the stomach which also affect PvE?

I would think that there should be a death "time" penalty to recover from your trauma. that would solve so many more problems that have been plaguing PvP. Anarchy Online implemented this well by having a lowered-stats recovery period that lasted a good 5 minutes after you died. It really was stupid to try to jump right back into a battle because it was certain death as you were so vulnerable.

So, let me ask you this. If your goat escapes because of a hole in the fence what do you do? Put him on a chain? Build another fence to surround the existing one? Nail him to the ground? Kill the goat? All of these will work. Perhaps fixing the hole in the fence would be best, that is IF YOU KNOW HOW TO FIX IT! LOL

PvP "exploit" (or just new strategy) with instand stomach clearing on death.

Base defending "runners" would be able to re-buff on food in 5 seconds after failing to sprint from a cloning center to the base they are defending to stop a countdown. This in and of itself doesn't sound all that bad *BUT* it opens up the options to use some foods that are normally not an option because they're stomach filling is quite high compared to the duration of their effect. One specific food I'm thinking of that would come into favor for these runners would be Flameout whouch has 90%+ damage reduction but only for 5 or 10 hits. If you play it right you can tie 2 together and become mostly immune to attacks on your way in... and then since you are expecting to die anyway the extreme filling on them, that normally balances the high output, can be totally ignored causing a situation where you get high output for almost zero cost.

Now, should this one scenario prevent a change to how the stomach behaves on death? No, I'm not suggesting that, I'm just pointing out a situation that would be created and possibly quickly labeled an "exploit" if it was instantly changed with no consideration of foods other then brandy.

What does number 3 mean?

What are the new player quests? Are they "new player" quests or new "player quests"?

- New Player Quests:

1. Added a distance check for the travel voucher.

2. Changed starting location from Coronet on Corellia to Mos Eisley on Tatooine.

3. Added quest progress info for the final quest for each profession.

4. Fixed bug where if you log out in the middle of a travel purchase, you get stuck in "Purchase Pending" mode.

dude NO, if you read the dev tracker you'd know that the fscs changes won't go into effect until P10 (or P9?)

this is referring to the NEW PLAYER QUESTS

how old are you? like 5? "starting location" means the-place-where-a-new-char-STARTS

You must be such a better person than I am. That must be why when I ask a question you can try to insult me about my age. I asked a question about something because I was unsure about a change. Either give an answer or don't. Do you feel a lot better about yourself now that you called me 5 years old?

My question still has not been answered. Are there new player quests that have been added or are these quests for new players? The wording is why I do not understand what this addition is. If they are quests for new players it should be worded that way, not new player quests. This implies that there are new quests for players that have been added.

look man
if you'll spend the time to read the previous patch notes about the quests for new players, it would be obvious to you that these are referencing the quests for new players; they are not new quests for players, but quests for new players

I have figured out the answer by now but you or someone else could have just said this before. I wanted the answer quickly and that was why I asked. I could have just looked at the notes and did not want to. I guess this community is more about trying to insult others than to help them out with answering questions.

- Entertainer: Fixed the delay between entertainments message to update the time left. I still have no clue what this is referring to.

- Raised the hover height for the jetpack to 4.0 meters instead of 3 will we be able to fly over short objects? ... I've noticed that if I'm on my speeder and go over a big cliff there seems to be an invisible 'collidable' wall that extends up from any 'collidable' objects on the ground

thanks

This is what I was talking about in many other posts. Someone saw Jedi in this although it made absolutely NO reference to Jedi at all. If you take it in context, (which means reading everything else around it), you would discern that we are talking about newly created characters, only. Quests for new characters.

Take a rest dude, your eyes are starting to see Jedi.

Hey Vass I don't know if you will see this but when the crackdown shuttle lands it bounces off cliffs and lands vertical the best planet to see this is on Yavin if you want to check yourself so in future when the shuttle lands could it spawn a flatarea similar to camps so it'll land properly?

(Theground would also turn back to normal when the shuttle takes off)
