You want our feedback huh... well here ya go TH.. hope ya insured your asbestos long johns....

Myself and 2 friends set out to the 3 Imperial NPCs to get tickets to the shuttle. We split up, each taking 1 NPC, and 3.5hrs or so later we've all gotten our tickets. We meet up at the Imperial pilot, decide we're gonna do the assassination mission, and off we go to the corvette.

We arrive, it looks like we blasted our way in. Pretty cool. Step into the hall way, nice looking. Reminded me of episode 4. Blaster bolts come flying by, look up the hallway and our swordsman/doc is taking on a reb, and the tkm with flame4 is on another, so I join the fight. Kill'em and we start exploring, killin the random reb as we run into them. Enter a control room in/above what looks like it would be the engine room, kill some more rebs, check out the desktop computers. Pretty cool. Taking us a little longer then we would have liked, but we expected to have a hard go of it since we went with only 3 of us. Around this time two of us get the idea to try our AT-STs and see if we can use'em on the 'vette. Sure enough, the bucketbutts come out and group up and we continue, keeping an eye out for operations disk #4 (just to see if it would do anything with the desktop computer that wanted it). We found the escape pod terminals, killed all the rebs we could find, and found the elevator. We've got like 35minutes to finish the mission by now.

Ok, we figure we're going to head for the flight deck, as that's probably where the target is going to be found. Down the elevator, take the hall to the right, make a right, another right, killed a few rebs on the way, get to the round room with 5 halls branching off. BIG fight here, a couple of us got incapped a time or two, pretty tense. One of the -STs had about 1/3 of its bars left, so it got stored. My friend tried to pull out his second one, but he couldn't command it after pulling it out. Couldn't even store it again. So, immediate area cleared, we continue forward and enter the compartnet where you can set the power to the hyperdrive (which doesn't do squat except tell you fuel is at 0 I think it said). From 30m away, and through the bulkheads, 2 commodores open up on us and the fight for survival began. It was a losing battle. We managed to drop a couple sailors that came in behind us and then the swordsman/doc went down. We managed to finish off the 2 commodores and 1 npc that didn't have a title, but the remaining AT-ST was had like 250-300left in the health bar.. stored. Doc clones, tries to rebuff, can't, rejoins us, and we decide to try and continue. As soon as the door opens 4 more of these super rebels agro and, to make the story short, 1-2 shot incaps all around. Like we weren't even wearing armor. Like we didn't have any buffs (and we all had buffs in the neighborhood of 2400-2500 to all HA stats. Talk about rediculous. I was the last to be incapped, and the NPCs agroed on one of the others as they cloned, so I didn't get DB'ed. Yet.

Stood up, healed, attacked one of the npc's, and 2 shots later I'm sucking deck again and wondering if my armor had simply fallen apart (it hadn't). Ended up dead from 3incap rule. So we're at the start, the NPC's are agro'ed on me from the second I clone, and we're wondering what we're gonna do now. We start looking for a med bay, figuring we couldn't buff with the droid inside the 'vette the same way you can't inside the NPC city cantinas. No med bay found, I try to get to a room a deck down and I'm promptly cut down and killed. By this time I was expecting it. We ended up going to the escape pod terminals and getting out of dodge.

Now, our little group of 3 hunts krayts and kimos for fun. We'll go take on nightsisters when we get a wild hair. Geo cave is a nice distraction during slow times when people aren't fighting over spawns/loot. We're experienced players and we know how to fight, how to support each other in action, etc. We've been hunting together since a few weeks after release. We expected difficult, down to the last second to get the objective done. We had no idea that the development idea of hard meant 170-200k HAM npc's with medium armor and lowest resists at 30% (no vulnerabilities) coming out and shooting us through the bulkheads from 40m away to 1 or 2shot incap us through full, top quality composite. Drop an ancient canyon krayt into that hyperdrive compartment and I'd be surprised if it lasted more than 5-7minutes. I doubt it would kill any of the NPCs.

You went overboard with this one. It started out mind numbingly dull (over 3hrs!!!) going to find what we needed to get the tickets to get to the vette. We got there, ooh'ed and aah'ed over how nice it looked for a minute, and started having some fun exploring it. Til we took the elevator down a level and tried to continue forward to the flight deck. Reminded me of how another SOE team gimped the Rathe Council for so long because Time wasn't finished, and now with GoD how they've got a couple of zones jacked to the max because the rest of GoD isn't finished.

We all logged in disgust and severe disappointment. Went from fairly challenging and having to pay attention to banging our heads on a steel bulkhead in 10meters. Well... you see the stories of groups much larger than ours running into the same steel bulkhead. Ya'll blew it on this one.

Dying can be fun and interesting. But to stand any chance you need good comp. 500-1 million cr. Not something you want to be decayed. Otherwise, who cares if you die? You just get back up and run through it until time is up.

Reason I don't like decay is because it don't make sense, not in the least. And as of right now, is one of the contributors to killing this game.

I'm not going anywhere near this, as a crafter, but I will gleefully point out one thing about this thread:

The only support coming in the form of "Stop whining!" posts, are exclusively from folks who have not done the dungeon.

so is there any perticular reason why you have to be overt to wear the stupid rebel insignia shirt? its not an armor, it has no mods at all, and the devs want us to risk our own butt just to wear a shirt? if anyone can make a argument as to why you have to be overt to wear this shirt, please feel free? personally i dont think it would be that much of a gamebreaker to be able to wear these shirts as a covert. maybe make it so an npc or something could do something to you, but why completely going overt just to wear a shirt. when you wear your rebel rings you dont have to declare...

Honestly i think your missing the point of 'cover' and 'overt' here though, and their part in this virtual game world (as a lot of people do).

If your a covert rebel, it is unknown to anyone (who's not rebel anyhow) what your faction alignment is. So as far as 'they' are concerned your a neutral citizen in the galaxy. (hence when you attack an imperial (npc) you get a TEF.. some ppl saw that you fought against the imperials so know your not a neutral)

If your an overt rebel, you outwardly visibly declared your self as being a rebel.. Imperials will attack you and the hunting season is open!

To take this in game logic to the shirt your refering to.. By wearing a big sign on your shirt shouting "I'm a rebel" your by definition overt.. So the designers and developers of this game had 2 choices really.

1) Either make you instantly overt when you put the shirt on (and bypass all current mechanics of becomming overt, and upsetting a lot of balances.. Not to mention get quite a few unsuspecting people killed the moment they put the shirt on) or

2) Make it so that you are already declared overt to be able to put the shirt on.

I'm glad they went for option 2 really :-)

My group: 4 good combat guys and myself. (2 doc/sworsdmen, 1 fencer/pistoleer, 1 BH/pistoleer, and me, just flame4 commando). We're worked together before, we were killing npc dark jedi masters over the weekend.

BUGS:

I had all my graphics details turned to minimum (including the debug options). And about 60% of the corvette had no walls or floors, so it looked like I was running in empty space. That was annoying, and disorienting.

I was able to call my AT-ST even though I was covert. This didn't seem so bad at the time, but he got killed later so I was pretty sad.

One companion got booted quickly by using the escape pods. I got booted much later on, as we were starting to get wiped out. This really needs to bring up a dialog box to confirm.

Based on the occasional catastrophic damage we'd occasionally take in one hit, the "armor hole" still seems to exist, and the corvette makes it really scary.

Shooting through walls.

GRIPES:

The super battle droids. We were doing fine killing the dudes with 80k HAM, even small groups, but then THREE super battle droids... man, that's too much. I didn't even really get a chance to examine their resists, but those guys are better suited for wiping out entire cities, not for a dungeon group.

I might be wrong, since I don't really know my way around the ship, but if we need to kill every single npc in there to get through it, in one hour, that seems excessive. (both in terms of body count and time limit)

Hospital: There was no place we could re-buff in there. Possibly have an infirmary somewhere on the ship, maybe even in the starting room. Either that or let droids medical facilities work.

The starting room: This needs to be safe from marauding npcs. it should also have an escape pod access in it. And maybe even insurance/cloning terminals, depending on how that works out. You'd want to keep the npcs out in a way that prevents folks from exploiting it, but still, its worth it since being camped by npc's is no fun.

KUDOS:

I really liked that the rebels looked like the commandos from the original movie.

There were lots of neat buttons and computers to push and stuff in the Corvette. (I didn't really get to do anything with them, since I wasn't the leader, and was generally lost most of the time, and pressed for time.)

Maybe youshould develop a game beforebefore youcriticize how another game runs.

Look, most of what I was talking about has to do with PvE or mass PvP in ANY situation. It's about utilizing your professions properly in a GROUP, and not as a mob of individuals. Just because I haven't done the Corvette yet means that I have no idea how the game works? Or that I have never participated in a battle with a tough monster or NPC? Is the SWG combat system completly different in the Corvette than in the rest of the game?

I don't think so.

I'm not much of a hardcore player, so i find many thingsdifficult aren't difficult for others. But I also don't live in my armor and am not constantly buffed and I don't min/max a combat template. So I make my own decisions about the game. Personally I'm glad that there's a mission out there that is difficult for the hardcore people too.

The Neutral Corvette is no better.plus I ran into some art work bugs that made the place even harder.

Went in with a group of 4 (it was all of our guild we had on at the time) Full armor, full buffs, food, drinks and spices..

1 Master Rifleman

1 Master swordsman/Smuggler

1 Smuggler

1 Pistolieer <<< ME

Talk about rough. first few halls where not bad. then you ran into the 51k HAM CorSec Security Specialist with crazy resistances. it was a slaughter, the mobs would chase you every where. you would have to move up or down on decks, and even then they would still just keep you aggroed.

I like higher level content, but I dont like stuff where I cant even get past the first few halls, and with an hour time limit if you get boghed down in one spot its all over.

I died5 times on the corvette, and because of Decay and no way to insure items again we lost 1 full suit of armor, I lost most of mine. damage like crazy to the others armor.

Personally I dont mind decay on normal worlds, but Decay on the Corvette is Crazy, the damage they toss out is so high, that its going to chew through all forms of armor with ease. to top things off I went from a 99% condition suit of armor and in the 5 deaths on the corvette my armor had decayed 25%(uninsured deaths)+ about another 15% from combat. Decay should be shut off for the corvette level, while your up there. condition loss fine, but not the 5% decay!

I dont mind getting 500 of 1000 wounds and over 500 BF, But when you have two or three people having to pull parts of their armor off because its at condtition 0 of X thats a bit much.

You should not need 2 CM's, 2 Commandos, 2 Melee tanks and other assorted Combat professions or templates, just to even complete the place in an hour.

The dungon should scale according to skill levels of people in the group... so that way if an all master group goes on to the ship, then they can get the dungon that we are presneted with right now... I am not saying make it so that its soloable, or a group un armored or unbuffed could go in and survive and win... Make it a challenge, but some thing that people can do and enjoy over and over.

I suspect a lot of the problems that come from the Silly Con symbols on the sides of all the targets names. The Devs have put too much into that little symbol thing and instead of thinking and being realistic. They just decide random numbers like 150k stormtroopers, and 250k Dark troopers, and 50k rebels is ok, because its fair, the players can take it.

Lets get real even with 3k buffs and your hams all equal. your still not going to survive 6000 damage shots for more than a few mins.

Plus I ran into a graphics problem while on the corvette.

Most of the ship was missing its textures, Its walls where not there, doors would open, but i would not know it was a Door until I went through it, floors where non existant..

It was like I was walking on air, and only had the over head lights to follow.

I could see sections of the levels textures in select halls like in the escape pod room. plus with the On screen map up made things worse.

Furniture was just floting around on the ground. I knew it was ok, but it makes it a lot harder to even consider navagating when you cant even see the turn in the hall because the wall is not there.

It was kind of annoying to get all this hype that you can run around the white halls of the corellian corvette, but then you see nothing but stars and can only feel your way around because your a rat traped inside an invisable maze.

I am probably not going to try this out again until they change the dungon to scale according to power levels of the players in the level... but others may have a blast in there... But right now I am not happy with this new content, and once again its some thing IMO that has potental to be a lot of fun, but breaks down because the devs did not think longer on how tough it is because of the silly red dot Con thing...

Ok guys we've heard the negative and the positive.

Now tell us what would YOU do next time?

Would you up your group to 20 people?

What profession would you bring?

What seemed to work the best?

What didn't work at all?

How was the lag?

Some Advice?

Thanks.

Me.

The place is WAY too tight.. anyone who is not a melee or pistoleer will have problems keeping any distance to the NPCs.. You need to make the corridors bigger. Who would make corridors where only one person can fit at the time?

Ranged area attacks NEEDS to be fixed inside.. take rifleman as an example.. he will not be able to contribute anything to a group unless the group is created to target mind.. as soon as he fires one strafeshot2 he will have 3-4 NPCs from all over the placeaggroing him and kill him quick.

Lastly the NPC AI needs to be tweaked. none of the NPCs engage in melee, but yet they try to get to close as possible to you.

And ofc as everyone says, things are abit too tough. As I read another place. It's like confronting 4-5 NS elders and a few ancient krayts inside a small house. The High armor ratingsmakes the place very restricted for certain classes (pistoleer, carbineer, fencer, tka). Why not cut down the general armor abit, and raise some special resistances abit more?

I think you might have missed the difference between ranged attacks, as these do, compared to melee as almost all other high end content do too. Generally the tanking classes are way better vs melee than ranged, so with these NPCs doing the same amount, and maybe even more damage than a krayt it's closing in on impossible.

I predict we will see new Corellian Corvette templates coming soon.. and with a group of 6-8 tight players they will be able to do the place with some minor luck, they will probably not be too good at other stuff though. What I'm afraid of is how this place will be once the combat revamp hits. Are you thinking in advance or pushing a problem in-front of you? do you expect the place to become easier once the combat revamp hits? But as I said in another thread, I dislike how most of the high-end content are made for melee-chars primarily. This is star wars, we want to see blasters and lasers and stuff like that, not hammers and swords.

had a blast.. its tough as hell, but never had so much fun dying.

AOE attacks are your downfall up there. I wouldn't even shoot one the whole time. If you can go up there and stay together with your group.. and let someone pull the mobs in singles or pairs, you can do pretty decent up there.

My experience so far...

  • Went to Sobal in Bestine..easy enough..was told of 3 places to go for documents

  • Went to *EACH* one...Cave.....rebel base....& crashed ship (Giving the wrong direction by npc btw..)

  • Realised when I went back to Sobal I only needed one document..

  • Went to Imperial Retreat and clicked on pilot...and just as it was loaded..thought..."I hope I didnt need to buff *before* I left..."

  • Got to Corvette..alone...couldn't buff..couldn't wear armor...ran around and died

  • Cloned!..but couldn't insure my decaying items...

  • died again...cloned again..still couldn't insure decaying items...

  • died...cloned...died...cloned...died...cloned...died...cloned...got bored

  • can't find the escape pods...logged off w/ 45 mins to go

  • logged on again..huh?..Im still on the Corvette??!

  • logged off...logged on....logged off...logged on...31 mins to go

  • quit

We're toying with the idea of sacrificing one team member to the battle droids as a distraction, while someone else goes in and flips switches or whatever.
