Thread: Corellian Corvette Feedback

Aibo, you do know that you don't need to use camps anymore to call your vehicle / pet don't you?
That was from back in the day when bikes would just randomly disappear.
I will be as absolutely positive and constructive as possible in my criticisms on the dungeon.
OK, first off the minor annoyance of travelling around for almost two hours trying to find the documents to get the ticket. Then, with a group of four I had heard that you had to be overt to go, so I went first and tried my ticket with my group members out of range and alas, I was soloing the dungeon. I figured I was in for a tough ride but had no idea what awaited me.
The first ensigns went down quickly enough, I'm a master commando with a BA flamethrower and TKN with medic at 2-3-3-4. I also had a fulll set of buffs putting my stats at 2900 for the primaries and 1800 on the secondaries. This coupled with my full suit of 80% resist composite armor lets me solo most anything planetside except krayts, so I wasn't too worried.
After the ensigns I ran into a rebel with 66k HAM who hit me with a special from his laser carbine that did almost 2400 points of damage. Now, I would like to know EXACTLY what to do to be able to get my own stats and abilities to this level, or was this obviously human MOB somehow related to a divine entity thereby giving him that much power?
The rest is pretty standard, I fought, I died, I fought, I took some with me, I died more, and fought more, FINALLY getting to the escape pod. During the course of these last 20 mins. or so I had the chance to wander by a couple more interesting MOBs. The first and most intrigueing were the 33k HAM ENGINEERS, now in RL and the Star Wars universe I'm quite certain that military engineers do not do ANYWHERE near enough physical or combat training to make them that tough. I also ran into a rear admiral with 170K HAM, this to me was astounding, as at one point in the life of my character I ran into a couple smaller krayts that were of similar HAM status. Also I've hunted with two full guilds working together (about 30+ people) to take down an ancient krayt that had 320k HAM. Now how exactly again do I get these kind of stats? I can understand something like a wild creature being this tough, but nothing humanoid should be this nasty. If the NPC's can achieve this level why can't players who are supposed to be toable through learning professions and xp achieve similar results to the NPC's of their race?
Now the second major point I would like to make was the hype about the quest itself. Originally it was said that the quest would be fun and rewarding while somewhat difficult. I also remember something said about it being possible to solo the quest. This isn't the case. I did read the newest blurbs on the website that stated you might want to bring a group along. Heh, this statement also didn't compare whatsoever with the grim reality of the situation.
Lastly I would like to say that after ejecting from the corvette I hung out a bit to get some of the other players reactions and see if I just was missing some point to the whole thing. No, it turns out I watched groups of 10+ players mostly comprised of TKA's (some master), commandos (some master), and BH's with support docs and CM's getting buffed running off, and in 10-15 minutes later showing back up with their tales between their legs. Several of them also mentioned that they had lost their ATST's in the battle. To me that shows the dungeon is WAY to overpowered for the game. That many players plus pets, plus the buffs they were getting from docs being wiped out that quickly and giving up is a bad sign to me.
To wrap up, I love the idea, I love the art, I even love to be challenged, I don't go whining when I can't solo the nastiest mobs in the game, or cry that my proffession is broken because some of the skills aren't they way I would want them, but I had a rough enough and unpleasant experience with this to try to bring it to your attention. I hope you (the devs) will take this and I'm sure many other posts into consideration and make the quest a bit more managable, especially considering the biggest enticement was the reward of a "BRAND NEW SPEEDER" which I want badly but don't feel that is great enough of an item to warrant the ugliness of the dungeon. I also hope that most of my fellow players will be positive enough that you guys will listen to us. You've done an awesome job listening to your players and giving us so much of what we as a collective group want, and I hope that doesn't change now.
I do hope the JEDI quests are this nasty to keep the population down still ...
hehe
And that's a reward warranting that kinda work.
Thanks,

Well , looks like a malas team from the radiant forum managed it in 40 mins , apparantly not one of the team using tripple sliced weapons or armor , or exploiting in any way ![]()
Personally , props to em , I thought it was damn hard and got killed , just a bit ![]()
MAN! I am sick of losers screaming bloody murder that they are not getting their way. Too hard! Too easy! Bad loot, too good loot! Exploit, exploit, exploit! Sheesh!
Maybe I just don't take the game seriously enough, butI would never whine about not being able to beat the boss monster in a video game to the guy that wrote it and demand that he make it easier for me. If the dungeon is impossible, then come up with an impossible crew and fight like the little GCW soldiers that you are! Sure the game is supposed to be fun, but when you strain for seven hours just to get in the dungeon screaming at the monitor over every little road block, are we supposed to care about your anger issues? Did you throw the Nintendo thumb pad at the television when Mario got 'pwned'? Surely some of us remember what it was like to fight the boss characters in old video games. It was hard, wasn't it? You were elated to finally beat that **edit** right?
I haven't done the Corvette yet, but it sounds like the groups that are complaining are not bringing along enough support crew. 15 fighters and a couple of medics? I think that the groups seem a little lopsided.
Why not a Squad Leader? (Oh that's right, it doesn't "pwn" in PvP, it's a useless profession.)
Lord knows there are enough Combat Medics around, they could heal... (wait those combat medics don't heal they all just mind disease.)
Judging from the reports on the resists of the mobs in there (very high kin resist), you won't see any intelligent Jedi going anywhere near this place.
