so can we get a timeline kinda thing to show what is coming out when, like when JustG made a state of the game letter that showed what was in publishes and mini pubs

like this

The development cycle still has momentum and we still have some other important items, big and small, coming out of the pipeline. Here is what still lies ahead:

  • Before publish 10, we plan on launching the character transfer system

  • In Publish 9.2 We’re publishing Wookiee armor sets #2 and #3, new crafting quests and the second swoop race

  • Publish 9.3 will bring us the third swoop race

  • Publish 10 will be the Jedi Trials. This will be the new gateway to the Jedi profession that will by a mysterious path to unlocking Force sensitivity.

  • Publish 10.1 is going to bring us an exciting surprise and also a list of Correspondent requests

  • Publish 10.2 is focused on the entertainers which features a unique new game experience where entertainers, Dancers and Musicians can perform for an NPC audience for the reward of a new song and dance.
Publish 10 is slated for the end of August, but one of the reasons for these delays is to make as much room as possible for extra implementation and testing time.

Just found this one of the other forums and im not sure how old the post is however reading between the line does this mean theyve already decided the path to being FS is going to be unknown ie mysterious?

MYSTERY

the last thing we need is half of each server running around with lightsabers making it impossible for normal profs to compete with them

If the path is too mysterious, I'll most likely cancel. The regular professions in this game are so ridiculously easy to master that I would have quit after the first three months if it wasn't for hoping someday to be able to be a Jedi like in the movies. Take away that hope by leaving me completely in the dark about how to achievethe goal, and you will likely take $15 a month out of your own pockets.

I like the ideas of time being implented into the situation, kind of like a hidden veteran reward type of thing. "A mysterious email and waypoint was recieved from an unknown source". Or at least it could be a way to help people who ahve been playing a year like me, and have nothing cause we waste our time roleplaying lol.

It needs to be mysterious for each individual, or maybe in a way that you would never even know you were on the trial... Mysterious voices being heard telling you to search out people or places, or do certain things... You know kind of like Obi-Wan's classic, "Use the force..."

I like mystery. Unfortunately it may be too late to introduce mystery, since so many people got Jedi in a "walkthrough" kind of way.

Unless it's a fun mystery, I think people will just get frustrated seeing all these people running around who got their Force Sensitive characters "the easy way". Much like the grief ID's felt like they got once their own profession became long and arduous to grind.

Known path, but I like the idea of a different order for the quests/story for each person.

I'm all for a known but pain-in-the-butt way to Force Sensitive, either questing or just playing the game. (Remember the old 'Jedi Experience' posts that were passed around about a year ago? That kind of thing.)

IMHO the mechanics should be known.

Maybe the progress a player has made may be hidden from her but at least people should know wht is good/bad in terms of FS.

It could be wrapped into a nice story or even a series of quests, where layer after layer of the mechanism could be reveiled.

Make it, say 7 steps each player has to go through, to start on the path to FS, make it easy and story-driven along the virtues of a jedi, since the real difficulty should lie in the amassing of "FS points" or whatever it takes to get FS.

Of course, this won't stop people from posting the solution, but it would a addlot of in-game depth.

People will post the solution anyway, so hiding it won't do any good...

i think force sensitivity should be a known path but should match up (and more for some challanges) to how trong u r like a master commando may be asked to go blow up a krayt with some of his friends but a tka should be asked to take down a creture stronger or the same strengh as him but i think the crafter types entertainer types and medic types r completly differint

you can take the jedi out of the fight but you cant take the fight out of the jedi

This is my post from another page that someone started on my views of how to become force sensitive.

I think your ideas are great and I wanted to add what I had put together for possibly unlocking the force sensitve slot.

The force is in everything but you must achieve a way to sense it. This could be done by having a hidden experience meter such as "Metachlorian Count" or something that increases when doing certain above and beyond actions in your professions.

For Crafting professions: a player could receive an amount of this hidden xp for every amazing success recieved or by crafting high complexity items with over 95% experimental value and achieving a great success. This would show that the crafter is sensing something within his crafts.

For entertainer professions: a player could receive the hidden experience by having a certain minimum number of players watching or listening to them for a specific amount of time. Ahowing their ability to enthrall the weak minded.

For scouting profesions: a player could receive some of this "metachlorian" xp by being able to walk amongst high challaenge creatures for a period of time, taming a high challenge creature, or being able to track well.

For combat professions: a player would receive some of this hidden xp for displaying courage and bravery by fighting creatures that are higher in challenge to himself if solo or to a group while grouped.

For medic professions: a player could recieve some by tending wounds, kind of giving of himself to heal others also crafting would fit here for being able to sense the correct type of medicine.

For politician: a player could receive this xp by swaying the population to his ideas. This could be done so that if he/she receives a certain minimum number of new votes every week when election rolls around.

Once you have achieved the needed "metachlorian" xp then a system message could tell you that you are becoming more in tune with the force and must seek out a jedi, NPC or someone who will being you on some quests related to profession. These NPCs orForce Teacherscould be random spawns like in the Hero of Tatooine quests. Have one for each basic profession located on the outer rim planets and not the three core ones since all jedi are supposedly dead or in hiding.Have each one of these Jedi/Force Teachers/NPCs begin you on a set of 5 -10 quests. These quests could be related in a pattern like the Luke skywalker example or request you to do extraordinary things in the profession you are in.

Crafter professions could be given a high complexity schematic that requires certain resources and they must then deliver it to so and so on whatever planet.

Entertainers again would probably have to visit different cantinas around the galaxy and enthrall the watchers/listeners.

Medics could be required to heal some NPC at some remote location and then when healed have them converse and brought back. Kinda rescue mission with healing twist.

Scouts might have to find creatures on some planet using scent capability kind of like searing for the Bladeback boar in Hero of Taooine quest.

Politicians may have to get involved in politics of the static city capitals and convince players to vote for their side in an issue.

Combat professions could again be required to kill that difficult lair that is terrorizing so and so NPC.

I think the path should be KNOWN. Each person's progress on the path should be kept a mystery. In other words, I wouldn't necessarily want to know how far along the path I am.
