Cmon, TH. Count all the posts that scream for the removal of 1% decay, and then count all the posts that say its a good idea. You can easily see who has the great majority. Quit pushing the stupid faction day pass(which you are misrepresenting anyway, you know what im talking about) and actually do the right thing this time. 1% decay on insured items is stupid. Either remove the 1% decay from items that have been insured and make it so that you clone with your ham bars empty(damage, not wounds)so you have to rest before you can go back into battle. OR you can change the cost of insurance to 2-3 times as much and remove the 1% decay. OR how about adding a NEW option for "full insurance" that costs 2-3 times as much and doesnt decay on death.

Any one of these systems is better then the current system.

In the teams effort to resolve the PvP Death and Decay, what we are going to be able to implement (for publish 7), is a Faction Combat Day Pass. This "day pass" is Insurance.

You check in with your faction recruiter, purchase a day pass for faction combat (PvP and PvE), and for 24 hours, you will have no decay on your insured items.

How much do you think this should cost?

I think you should scrap this stupid idea and do something better to remove 1% decay.

TH, no matter where I go I see to see the same theme emerging.

Devs say "Do you want Ice Cream or Cake?"

Players say "Cake for sure!" and then list all the possible kinds of cake and why they're preferable to ice cream

Devs say "What kind of Ice Cream do you want?"

Players say "We don't! We want Cake!"

Devs say "We here what you are saying about not wanting Ice Cream... so we are giving in... you can have Sorbet instead..."

Players pause and wonder what they missed... "... Sorbet? Who asked for that?"

And so it goes. This is a replay of the droid engineer debate, but with PvP and insurance instead.

Item decay on death is pointless-- that's what insurance is for in the first place. The community has made this clear. You (and by you, I mean whoever is making the decisions, and asking you to relate them) have made it clear that you don't give a flying leap what the players want. They're going to get freaking ice cream because that's what you've decided to make, and if they're very nice you'll let them decide what color dish they get it served in.

Just do whatever you're going to do and stop pretending the community gets to decide anything.

100 fp, however it should be no decay if you were overt when you died. This will get rid of the tefers and like I am thinking, plus will mean more interesting combat.

A better question would be, how is this going to get more people involved in PvP? I can see that by implementing this new systemyou will be forcing people know decided to stay neutral to pick a side in order to be able to buy this "Day Pass," but that really isn't fair to them. It also means in no way that more people are going to PvP. Why not add more perks or rewards for being a part of the GCW to entice people to join.

If this goes live I would buy/build a special PvP suit and only get it out of the bank when I had the daypass. I guess I'd be spending about a million credits or double that with skill tapes. So 1% decay would be 10k of cost to me - i.e. at 100 FP it pays for itself with one death. I don't think thats particularly exceptional, I can see RIS armour being worn in PvP combat if it can avoid the 1% decay for frequend death (I'd use it if I could afford it).

I'd not use the daypass more than once per week, probably no more than every other week. 100FP is pretty trivial, I'd do an hour of Faction grinding before my friends loged on and then just /delegate the faction to them to get the perk. If I wanted to just do casual PvP then I'd use my standard cheapo equipment.

Bottom line:
Day pass insurance should cost 500 FP per day or 100 FP for 3 hours

Surprise, yet another dumb idea from the dev team that brought us insured decay, and didn't even have the decency to filter all the useless crap off the insurance menu that no one would in their right mind ever insure, hence forcing everyone to waste even more time clicking and scrolling.

So, through battle, armor gets considerable decay. I have to pay insurance on it. Then I'd have to use hard earned faction points to insure it again? For 24 measly hours? Pinch me for I am dreaming?

How about 0 FP?

Ok - Since most PVP doesn't happen as a planned event how in the world would this work.. Rebels and Imperials don't go around telling each other that they are going to raid. I can see it now - a strong force invades your city - "Um - Excuse me guys - can you wait a minute we need to go get our insurance."

lol - If this happens I will need to add this one to my signature...

The Decay system already suxx BIGTIME - and you almost managed to kill the joy of PvP so my suggestion would be to drop it alltogether and just remove the decay and reintroduce corpse runs or if you absolutely must have this stupid decay for deaths then atleast don't make us pay for PvP...

DECAY allready kills you armor fairly fast as it is without the extra 1 or 5% added on. On top of it the main reason is to show our armor smiths and tailors some love. Well the best armorsmiths are selling **edit** from 500k+- dont think they would feel too much of a sting in that department. And the tailors? Well when the clothes decay to 0, the stats still work so no need to buy new clothes.

Take out decay totally-- add a little more normal decay of fighting if need be. Also when clothes hit 0-- make them destoyed.

As for the main reason of this post--- No faction insurance--- Get rid of decay totally. Also find other reprucutions to dieing-- a no fight timer after you die perhaps. Needs to be somethign in place so people suffer some sort of penalty besides lousy faction loss.
