well i'm not here to whine or anything i just have a question that i'm seeking advice for:
I'm a post 9 unlocker and have not been visited by the old man yet:
so i decided to wait and see what happens...then it dawned on me that i might be bugged so if i dont get the old guy in the 3 days what should i do? wait more, file a ticket, talk to a csr, complain on the boards? i'm afraid this is the case, but its probably groundless..../sigh

On the morning of 8/31, after patching and logging in, I immediately did a /checkforcestatus and to my delight I saw that "The Force is with you."
I had read TH's post on the "Reckoning" thread and the part about groups confused me a little bit. I was never a "hologrinder" (HUGE congrats for ditching that system, btw), rather I was "glowy" based on the requirements of this new system. You guys warned us many months ago that this new system was coming, so I just relaxed and tried to have my character live his life like he normally would. Ive done 74 badges, countless unbadged missions and quests, Ive mastered 4 professions (including one that was from a holocube), and I'm a captain in the rebellion (The Republic will rise again!). Anyway, the groups thing confused me a little, but at the end of his post he said that those of us that are qualified under the new system are immediately eligable for a visit from the old man.
The old man didn't come see me the first day, but the second day he almost knocked me down as I was coming out of my house to go place a structure factory. We spoke briefly and he gave me a crystal. The only problem I noticed after that was that I was unable to call my swoop. I tried several times over the course of the day but was never able to. . . I almost destroyed it and and went to make a new one (I'm a master artisan), but thought I'd just give it a day to see if it came back.
The next day (today) I went home for lunch and logged on and was quickly visited by a couple of Sith Shadow somethings wearing some nice-looking padded armor. Before I could compliment them on their nice armor, they attacked me. Apparently they were after the crystal the old man had given me the day before. I killed them quite easily and proceeded to loot a couple things off of them. One was a resource container of some material Ive never seen before, and the other was a data disk with a waypoint. I opened the waypoint disk and got a very powerful urge to investigate the location it gave me. Fortunately, my trusty swoop had been returned to me and I was able to get it out of my datapad.
Once I got to the location, I encountered more of the Sith Shadow somethings, and sent them quickly to wearever it is these people store their clones. I found more odd resources (one container if I remember right) and another data disk with a waypoint on Dathomir. I was on Dantooine at the time, but I felt another incredible urge to travel to this other planet and investigate.
I flew to Dathomir and rode out to a village that seemed to exist within a wall of fog. I sat in the village before talking to anyone and camped for the night.
In conclusion, everything seems to be working wonderfully so far. The only glitch I noticed was the one that caused my swoop to be uncallable between the old man's visit and the Sith visit.
I congratulate the development team on a MUUUUUUCH better system for becoming Force sensative!

I can't seem to get my free branch unlocks at the village. I am a post-9 unlocker so I assumed I would get the six branches given to me. When I speak to paemos, however, I do not get the response option that allows me to get these branches. PLEASE HELP.

STOP WHINING AND HAVE PATIENCE. Don't you learn from what we told you yesterday about Old Man. Did he come within the three days as EVERYONE told you?

Hi Darthrotten. Been reading your posts. I who never holo grinded got visited by the Old Man twice today. I asked him the second time If he knew you were looking for him. He said , "Yeah I know. I'll come to him when he quits whining."
For the Devs, I actually tried holding the Old Man the first time so my friends could see him.. in under 5 minutes he fled.. I logged off. Waited 20 minutes, logged on, 10 minutes later the Old man sought me out. Waiting for the Sith right now, while going about my life. the only change is I had to dfer on a krayt hunt with my guild so I can make sure I can see the sith and take them out.
thanks for the good work.. Most excited I've been in a while.. At first I did not even want to be a jedi. I'll try out pub 10 though see if it's worth going all the way.. so far so good. Hope JTL is this good.

Wow, why don't you guys mind your own business and let him vent if he wants to. If somebody killed his sith's twice then thats pretty crappy for him... he deserves a good venting session. You guys are huge losers to be saying these things about darth, get off his back and mind your own business... NOOBS!!!

speaking of losers.... how about the 1000+ posts that this board had of whiners and vernters saying I DONT HAVE MY JEDI YET the first 8 hours of pub 10 hitting live.. how about 80 percent of all posts have been whining..Get something constructive to say... like the following
I believe I am bugged.. I got the visit from the old man got my crystal then when I opened up my journal it is entirely blank. nothing completed nothing pending for quests in the jedi system. I have the box checked for show completed quests but still nothing. now I patiently wait for the sith to attack me.. however I have a faint feeeling they never will as I have no status in the new quest system according to my journal.
But I have bug reported it and am calmly waiting. I am not out whining about how I have seen 2 peoples sith come and not me.. So if yer gonna complain about somthing go find a bug or post some real ideas and not vents. If you want to vent go cry to your mommy in the next room.

uhh isnt there a journal entry for the quest of protecting the crystal?
I just clarifying? Cause I have had multiple people tell me that after visit from the old man they had something in thier journal

Not to be a whiner or anything , but i would like to know what the politics are involved in who gets what here , an yes i said politics .
I have seen people in game bragging about their accomplishments in the quest to the village , an they have their rights to do so , but what i dont get is this .
Ive seen people with no holos get the visit based off of badges befor unlockers an those with holos done , ok they can be grouped together under new an old systems an just qued that way .
Then there is the second stage people are now complaining about the sith spawns . I have seen once again people with less priority in my oppinion getting them faster . An example is this . Myself an my wife are 50m apart she gets the vistit by old man , 5 mins later i get mine . No i have all but the vett badges an missing professions all holos done , she has about 40 badges total an 2-3 holos compleeted an about 3 extra professions , neither of us unlocked . Now 5 mins isnt a big deal an i never complained there , but now the sith part comes , 8 hrs later in almost the same spots once again withing 100m from each other her sith spawns , 14 hrs later im still waiting for mine , an i know there are others more qualified then me that should have been an gone to the village .
By chance is this a reverse politics thing as in those with less advancement goes first an unlockers last cause the 2 unlockers i know havent even been visited by the old man yet , or so i have heard ?

Ok I got attacked by the 2 sith. However I got message stating I was not allowed access to them after I killed them. My PC froze up each time i attempted to loot the corpses also.No waypoint to Village, yet Journal shows the missions (both sith attacks) are complete. Now what?
I have seen others post this same issue ? No response on those yet ?
