Question to ask yourself. How can we believe anything they say to us now? They wont even come clean about coming clean. Can we believe anything about JTL? What about the supposed new planets in it? Scrapped again? Cant you do anything you say you will do devs? What about combat balance, will it be utter crap as well? I, personally, cant even concieve of you guys doing something that good.

TH I got to say I think your the only thing that holds this community to this game, the Devs have lost themselves and your the only one keeping this chunk of the MMO market believing in your DEV team and from looking for a new game.

I am most upset with this decision, fine if you want to give credit to Holo Grinders for grinding Professions trying to hit their "5 professions" they deserve it.

Cheating us into thinking that there were fewer professions to "Unlock" on than there really was is not fine. Setting the limit for credit due only to Holo Credits is not fine, People who have spent their time grinding any profession should not be more valuable than time people spent grinding the secret professions. This by no means penalizing Holo-Grinders in fact its the opposite, you get credit for ALL the time you put into the game, not the time you got lucky on.

Its understandable you want to slow the Jedi population growth, but raising the secret unlocks and then taking out the Holo's Hints penalizing newer players, or players that didn't capitalize on the opportunity, is not fine. I didn't take the opportunity to find or buy holocrons to determine my professions, I just grinded 10 professions and said, Logic I've got about 1/3 of the total professions, that should give me 1 or two tree's. Or at least put me some where into way of your quest system. Instead all the time I poured into this game is absolutely meaningless. The Time I wasted over the past several months being worthless is NOT FINE.

But to go ahead and say, Hey Guess what, we've taken two publishes and several months to put in this new Jedi system, and all this new content that YOU CAN'T ACCESS! Is by no means acceptable. I like every other paying customer pay the same amount of money, and dedicate what time I can. I Bought this game at launch, I followed this game for years before launch, and Still I'm treated like crap, it doesn't make a difference that I've dedicated time for an entire year, or I've paid your subscription for an Entire year, You've taken my money with a smile, and coaxed me into believing things that weren't true.

Even with the Correspondence Summit, we still know nothing, yet you've taken the time to convince the 20 some odd people who we BELIEVED were on our side into saying the same thing you've been saying for years, yet they won't show us any proof That my friends is BULL**edit**, I don't care how true it is or how much you believe in it.

You can keep telling this fan base to keep waiting, but what you really mean is keep PAYING.

The Fact of the matter is your losing customers; with each of these posts more people cancel their accounts, and the longer you wait the more competition your going to get for these people. The Difference between this game and the ones on the horizon, People don't believe in you any more, you've failed to harness the "Vision" Where as these games still have their vision, they know their better than you at launch. Some people will stay, some people will come back.

Let me give you a little Line up of Our Horizon,

I want you to keep these things in mind when your thinking of what you can get away with.

Internet Gamming in the world of Massive Multiplayer Online Games IS A DRUG, and if you can't give us the Fix we need, WE WILL FIND SOMETHING STRONGER!

The Game City of Hero's is growing strong, and is arguable one of the Best MMO's to date, The Subscription base is 180,000 ACTIVE members(at the start of august), AND Happy Customers! I can't imagine these people having more than one account, the average SWG player has 2 accounts or more, recently you've boasted 500,000 members yet you won't mention if these are active members, or if these number count the players who have 2,3,4, or even 5 accounts. (And to Clarify, Those with multiple accounts don't have them because theylove thegame, they have them because onecharacter is not enough to enjoy SWG)http://www.cityofheroes.com/

Next in line is Worlds of Warcraft, which may not be the revolutionary new game everybody thinks it is, but will deliver the service that people believe in. You can consider a good chunk of your market leaving for this game on the Spot, not counting the continuing to dwindle numbers. http://www.blizzard.com/wow/

Now Beyond that we have Guild Wars, which promises to take interactions of guilds an environments to the next level, sporting top of the line graphics and game play, is also nearing completion. http://www.guildwars.com/

Wish promises to stimulate 100,000s of thousands of players on one server, AND have a live story team that will make the game not about being the strongest player, but evolving an actual plot. Story Something that SWG can, and will not have, you've made it very clear that the way Lucas arts operates that progressing a story in the game is nigh high impossible, despite the amount of books and content written about the time periods. They may claim that they are a revolution but their nothing compared to this next game. http://www.mutablerealms.com/

Atriarch

Maybe you've heard of it, maybe you haven't it all but disappeared due to a lawsuit 2 years ago, but its back in action.

You want to claim that your core system is good, that your water effects are realistic but their not. Atriarch Boasts REAL Physics Engine that includes Gravity, Friction, Weather Patterns, Seasons, Even Astrological Cycle with its 3 moons. Not to mention Actual Deformable Terrain.

As if that weren’t enough, the players like wish will be consolidated on one server supporting hundreds of thousands of people. The Landmass of this game world?

Total Surface Area: ~1,766,250 km2 (~682,000 miles2), Diameter: ~750 km (~450 miles)

There’s So much I could tell you about this game that would blow your mind, but here is the kicker...

Persistent Characters - Whether you have 1 hour a week or 20 hours a week to play Atriarch, your character will always have the opportunity to make progress, even when you are offline. You no longer need to worry about your friends passing you up just because you don't have as much time to play as someone else. Practice skills, gather resources, travel, or decide to play it safe. The choice is yours.

Maybe you don't know it, but the original market SWG was trying to tap was that of the casual gamer that doesn't have the time that a 9 or 13 year old has, and still be able to keep up. Those Casual gamers leaving the SWG experience because they cannot keep up with the power players will inevitable find themselves here. http://www.atriarch.com/news/news.html

Good Luck Starwars Galaxies, I hope you've got a Hell of an Expansion on the way, or your just not going to cut it. I ask you besides Jedi and Spaceships? What do you REALLY have? Star Wars is not a new experince, I can get what you offer from any Star Wars Game.

I am apparently misunderstanding this. My main Character's Holo went silent in October 2003. I continused to grind 15 more profesions, then decided to wait till patch 10 and get my credit. He has 77 Badges and Colonel Rank in Rebel Faction.

From TH's quote I logged in expecting to be "glowie" and then wait the 1-3 days for my visit from the old man. Where I would begranted 5 Branches (Silent holo and all) then start the quests from there.

This was not the case. When I logged in this afternoon and /check "You feel a surge of the force within you." came up not "glowie". Now I apparently still have much to do, and fear that once that is completed I will not get the promiced credit.

Another worry is the fact my Account has been active since July 2003 never missing a payment, and played regularly. My main character also never recieved the "painting" at 1 year anivercery. This leads me to think there is something wrong with the tracking on my character. I called CSR on the phone, they told me to make a ticket, they could not help me with in-game issuses. I made a ticket, and they told me to post on the forums.

Any one know how I should procede and what I should expect ?

Uhm, I think ye got the "run-around". I would recommend to get 'em on the horn again (errr.. call 'em up again). and state yer problem. Should ye get the same answer before, inform the CSR that ye would like to speak to a supervisor or Tier 2 Support as ye feel that the current person has not been able to solve yer problem/concern. And be sure to use good tac and don't get emotional as customer service representatives are based in India. When connected with Tier 2 support, again state yer problem and concern. Do not go fer the run around again (i.e.: submit a ticket, go to online chat, go to the forums) as the in-game ticket ye recieved said to go to the forums. Goin' to forums will not solve yer problem, the Dev's won't read it and the CSR's on the forums can't solve it.

If Tier 2 can't help ye, go to that person's supervisor. Keep climbin' the chain. But keep yer cool while doin' so.

TH,
Just wanted to let you know there are some individuals, regardless of how many professions we have mastered, that are very greatful for the content that this adds to the game. I have mastered a few professions in my 13 months playing SWG and I want to go through the entire path of becoming a Jedi. I want to experience becoming a Jedi the way it was meant to be aquired and enjoy the storyline in the process. Will we be required to "skip boxes" if we wish to become a Jedi. Can we complete the entire storyline and if so, do we just "surrender" points as we do with our regular professions?
Oh, I've played from the beginning, I've paid from the beginning, and I've done the grind.... I have NOT ONE COMPLAINT about SWG. This game is a 70's SW fans dream come true. Take heart TH, there are those of us that can "keep their perspective" in relation to this game and a little thing we like to call "life." You guys are doing a fabulous job. I can't wait to see what SWG will become in another year.

Man, wait'll this guy finds out that the quests are fun, but that three hours later, you're done, and in addition to some very nice lewt, you unlock... a 70,000,000 combat XP grind. Per branch! Hee-hee!

So let me summarize your point there old TH. You have hardly changed anything. You are still giving the holocron whores a head start. You're going to let all the people who spent countless AFK hours dancing away in a cantina and running crafting macros access before anyone else. Yeah, that makes sense to me. Only grant accessto the people who grinded theirSWG play hours away, and let the people who actually played the game wait for god knows how long until the can go being their quest. That isuntil some idot in an office with no windows, who spends his work day playing with his stapler and getting high on glue fumes, decides that the population of playersgoing to the village dies down. Maybee then the rest of us who are just as eligible for access get the visit.

Thanks a lot TH. Becasue I never whored myself out in more than a year of playing I have to wait even longer to even begin to try to become a jedi. I refused to spend my game hoursgrinding professions I had zero interest in, so now I get shafted again with another wait. Yes reward the people who engaged in practices that you yourself are quoted as saying "ruined the game." Sounds like dev logic to me:find the course of action that makes the least sense and then procede that way. Just continue to alienate your player base. But I guess people like myself are the fools for paying for this game each and every month.

Im still waiting for a dev to respond to the player concerns as if they actually care. How long do we have to wait to get a response to some of the questions we have? But thats been your game all along hasnt it? Fooling the players? First with the hologrind. Now with the casual lies and misleading posts.

The question that needs to be answered is what is the total number of professions that needed to be mastered under the old system? Its unclear but it seems that the number is 8 while the community believed it to be 5. I’m not disputing anything I just want clarification on what is the total number of mastered professions needed to unlock. If I completed only my 4 holos does that mean I have 1 or 4 professions left. Without this number it makes it hard to calculate which group we fit in.

Hope ya get better as well

At the end of the holo grind, TH has said there were 4 holo + 4 hidden profs to do.

TH wrote:

In other words, for those players that acquired 32 master boxes, they by default acquired the necessary 8 master boxes that unlocked their slot.

Note, the part about 8 necessary master boxes. He also mentions that elsewhere.

So, if you only completed 4 holos, you have 4 remaining profs to do. Therefore, you will be granted 2 unlocks and be in group 3. For each prof you did beyond the 4 holos, there is a chance it was one of the 4 hidden masters, but you have no way of knowing.

I say again, ANSWERS ARE HERE:

Get a grip!

You people talk like the end of the game is here, you could not be more wrong. What? So the old-man didn't come and sit in your lap before you even finished loading? That is no reason to start hammering the Dev team.

Now, listen up.

There are TWO ways to get visited. Yes, TWO.

First method is the old Holo Grind. Under this system of unlocking, there were four known professions you had to master, and upto four unknowns. If you found them all, you would know by now, as you would have had your message onscreen telling you you feel in tune with the force, or whatever. If this is the case, EXPECT A VISIT WITHIN 72HRS! If you managed to grind all of the known professions, and all but ONE of the unknown professions, EXPECT A VISIT WITHIN 72HRS!

If you still had 2+ Holo Professions left to grind, either unknown or known, you will be in one of the 'group's, and will have a little longer to wait. I would guess at 3 days wait per profession that you did not get, upto a maximum of FIVE profs, or 15 days.

If you didn't grind at least 3 holo profs, and therefor have more than five left out of the eight, I couldn't say what your odds were. Yes, there is no way of knowing, but to be honest, the Glowy / Badge method is so much easier. Sorry for lack of info here, but the Devs are sketchy with the details

Now, the SECOND method.

If, like me, you have been playing the game like a addict on pure caffeine to get as many badges as possible, you may find that you have become in tune with the force. When you type /checkforcestatus you might be told 'You feel an inner glow. The Force is with you'. IF THIS IS THE CASE, EXPECT A VISIT WITHIN 72HRS!

If you are not at this point, go to the Test Centre forum, get the list of badges required and go get them ingame, it is not hard, you can be Glowy within a week of even casual gameplay, ensuring your Old Man visit within 72hrs

Stop griefing the Dev Team, this system is simple and easy, all you need is 72hrs of patience.
