well i started to read the entire thread, til i noticed there were 742 replies. flame me if ive repeated something, but:
i am not a hologrinder, i strictly kill imps and make money. i have been playing since day 2, and ive never talked bad about the devs and ive never been more than a lil disappointed during the early days of "corbugtis".
but now...
i cant even put the words together, theres just so many things...
i love this game and dont even want to say this but - the whole jedi mess is ruining the game.
1st there were hologrinders... afk entertaining became the cool thing to do
now after the last publish, swarms of dark jedi sit around starports, cutting down any overt rebel that happens to stroll anywhere nearby. i am not exaggerating either, there are more perma-overt dark jedi on corbantis than you can imagine.
ive been a swordsman since september. id like to think i can hold my own, im sure theres more than a few imps who get the shakes when they see me in red... ive always been content with it. now i feel i have to become a jedi just to stay on top of things, to keep up with who i run with...
god im done, i was going to write a novel but i dont even want to think about it anymore.
sorry for the half-ass post, but i have nothing else to say except...
publish 10 will likely be the end of my swg experience.

Devs, I am deeply urging you to reconsider here. Put JTL aside for 2-3 months and work on this. In the end, more people will be happy.
You'd be surprised at how much word of mouth works.

TH,
Sorry i dont want hurt you ...but this choice is realy Stupid !
Thrust me ...The great majority ofplayers prefere you make theCOMBAT and GCW rewamp before JTL for sure !!
I realy prefere to have this rewamps and wait more JTL ... if JTL come in 2005 is not a problem.
When you start something, you finish it !! When you say something, you do it !!

JTL is what my character is all about, I have been playing him as asmugglerwhohave a ship thathave crashed and has been waiting for repairs for the longest time. JTL is whatI really burn for with a passion...
but...
I will NOT buy any expansion for a game before one of the major systems of the core game (combat)is still not working and balanced.
I just wont.
People are complaining that there are too many Jedi in the game right now, and you want to prioritate to make more Jedi before making combat (used by 92% of all players) work? Silly Devs...

This is a terrible decision and I hope SOE regrets it by losing a ton of money on this game for the rest of its' existence. That may sound harsh but I've lost alot of moeny on this game.
M account is cancelled....SCREW JTL...SCREW SOE....and SCREW SWG, I'm out

Im sorry but this is really chicken **edit**. At least one class got hit hard with a promise that it will catch up when the rebalence hits. Now the rebalence is put off for what, a fourth time? Now all we will see till then is more jedi changes? I dont mind jedi in the game but there are alot of other aspects that need a ton of help. Im sure there is going to be a mass exodus and I have to say I am seriously considering it. This is my first mmorpg but now that im an addict I have to say hope WOW hits soon because this is bull$hit

I'm at a loss for words. I have no other way to put it.
Can you for once do something that is for the good of your own damn game instead of what is good for putting change in your pockets? This is completely unacceptible, and you will surely pay for this costly mistake.
Congrats, this game is going to crash and burn. You've finally done it, you've made enough bad decisions to completely and utterly destroy the hopes of anybody still playing SWG. And by SWG I mean the real game, not some silly jedi nonsense that you put so highly over the morale and balance of all the other classes in the game. You've really messed up now.
I'm sorry you had to break this news TH. I really am.
And what do we have to look forward to you ask? SPEEDER RACES! WOOOOOOOOOOOO! I really can't wait. Not. That is the lamest thing I have EVER heard in any MMORPG or life experiences.
Enjoy losing LOADS of money as everybody cancels their accounts, and from this folly hopefully gets a clue (like the one I have gotten) and doesn't lay a finger on the wreck that will be known as SWG: Jump To Lightspeed.
I'm out of here for good. Thanks for giving me the heads up though so I don't waste one more month of money in this damned game.

How can you say this in seriousness, when according to you, Jedi are but a small percentage of the player population... Think about how many people the combat balance will affect, and then tell me why you think Jedi should have priority over the combat balance. What I also cannot understand is why you continually add in content that is unwanted and un-asked for, such as loot kits and swoop tracks? Were people demanding these things? Why not put your efforts instead on the issues the community has been screaming and begging for? Your continued success in the game is based on your customers! Why do we take the polls asking us what we want (and if I remember correctly, the vast majority voted for fixing the existing problems first) when the results of the polls are completely ignored and pushed aside for things that much fewer people care about? I've been here loyally since beta 3 and while I've yet to express any malevolent attitude towards the development team, I cannot help but feel indignant about this announced decision. Please reconsider this. I do not want to see the communities that I've enjoyed so much to play in, indeed immerse myself in, disintegrate any further than it already has.

OKay first of all to everyone who wanted the combat balance let me say:
There is no such thing! All the professions should not be equal to each other or "balance." Im sorry but to have a TKA knockdown a 50ft Rancor is ridiculous.
This happened because of the whiners. A 50ft rancor should be able to squash a a TKA. Hello!!!!!!!!! they are bigger than poeple. It was a domino effect, one profession got "nerfed" then anotherand another until everyhting was screwed up and now NOTHING has NO Balancing sense whatsoever! The whiners got what they wanted and they screwed up the game. Now they are whining about the game being crewed up or they left period.
Now everyone who is making these posts are the REAL players of this game. WE NEED TO BE HEARD. Just like in the beginning! We asked the devs not to listen to the whiners and they did. Now we are the whiners! A vicious cycle and costly one too.
I dont blame the devs for this... I blame the whiners. And this goes for Jedi as well. I have been here since launch and I admit I wanted to be a Jedi. But because I am an RP'er. Jedi should not walk around with a title under their name. The majority on my server who are jedi do this. This is an RPG game. And it should have stayed that way!
I blame the devs for listening to the "minority whiners" and not the "majority whiners." And I blame the devs forlack of content to all professions, the original bugs that have yet to be fixed... ( I still cant see the necklaces in my crafting screens), and I blame them for the downfall of thisgame. I am a 3 person guild. Yep, 3 accounts, all my characters... everyone else has left.
I admit I wontbe canceling my subscription. I waited this long for JTL, Imight as well waita little longer... then I am out for good because I cant play 10 charcters on City of Heroes and play 3 accounts onSWG. I dont havethat kind of time.

p.s.DEVS if I were you, I would check out the City of Heroes forums and listen to what EX-Subscribers are saying about your "best MMORPG" that you claim to be creating.

They likely won't say anything of substance. They never do. They have only let our rants go for now because they believe that we will "get it out of our system" and go back to the mindless lemmings most of us have been since launch. Think about it. This game is full of bugs, exploits, unbalanced classes, to many damn jedi ect but after a few days of bitching we (for the most part) go on. In fact, we find something new to **edit** about while we keep paying our $15 per month. Well, I hope and pray we don't let this one die. The devs **edit**ed up completely on this one and we shouldn't stop until they change thier minds (which will never happen) or they beging locking and deleting threads (which should start happening in about 30 sec I'd assume). At that point, I hope most of us are clear thinking enough to walk away from this POS game. That, though too late, will likely get the message across. I am so utterly amazed at the continued poor decisions these people make. Hey TH, how many subscribers do we have now btw? I'm guessing it isn't anywhere near the <cough> 300k we had back at launch. Any thoughts as to why this is?

I haven't cancelled yet, because I want to see what the Developers say about this a day or two from now. I don't think they can ignore this overwhelming demand.
We want space just as bad as you do, Devs. But you don't seem to want to fix the current game as much as we want you to.
Look at the responses. Do a poll on the site. Do a poll on the game. Just gather our feedback here and please use it. That's all I ask of you.
Remember "Let the wookiee win?"
