Which option would you choose?
Option 1 :
Havea backup server/mirror server in case of a error!
(obviously not enough money is being made off this game for mirrors at 15 bucks a head every month)
Option 2 :
Slowly allow people to test hardware until you are sure it can handle the full load!
(again money eliminates this option, this would require hiring/rewarding people to put up with bugs instead of people who pay you to be Beta Testers for life)
Option 3 :
Tell everyone about it, and let them deal with the problems it causes!
(the most cost efficient method, and the downtime saves a few bucks in bandwidth... tell the kids was a system problem)
Option 4 :
Throw out theout-dated IBM 486's and upgrade to a Dell.
(oh no!!! that is not even an option, not only would no money be made in the process but they would have to spend some)
"The dynamic nature of a MMOG requires efficient and informative communication with your customers"
SWG is like Quake, sure it was HUGE but due to the Developers being pricks Counterstrike will forever own! More mistakes these guys make now, less I will have to deal with later in a game where they actually care about more than how many subscribers they can get next month!!!! The above statement Death Blew Quake, where as the developers for Counterstrike all but worship their customers...
Love the game, hate the bugs and lack of communication/support and that fact that there are NO MIRRORS!!!

I logged in this morning with my main and my jedi, it's now Ahazi. All the cities on Tat were as they should be. Although it's Ahazi from about 10 days ago.

Just tried this morning before going to work and it still won't let me connect. I can't imagine its a cap...I just think the Login Server went belly up. It is a shame SONY (I like using the parent company name whenever I can as I hope it makes the higher ups cringe as to what they are doing to the SONY brand name) couldn't get this working. I know things happen and sometimes there's problems, I'm well aware of that, however, letting people know whats going on is part of dealing with things going wrong. There has been no communication from SONY about this as far as I can tell. Worse yet SONY has its Customer Service people directing everyone in chat to this website for answers when they must know there are known to be found -- thats just mean.

no, its not you....SOE put a damn population cap on the server so no more then like 2000 people can get on at once!! I think its pretty stupid if they are trying to test out how many people can be on the server at once before it crashes......

lol.... If only they'd put up another PvP Server... I'm a MRM on Eclipse so I'm no good in PvP, might as well use this chance to experiment and see what classes I'm better at
