Thread: SWG Changes Part 3: GCW Occupation System
Think about it, especially on planets like Tattooine.
If you are a Rebel, and you let the Imperials overrun the planet, you will be TOTALLY lacking a safe starport to travel through.
Rebels may get Anchorhead but it has no starport. This raises the spectre of having Mos Eisley & Mos Espa becoming as heavily patrolled as Mos Espa & Bestine. If the Imps get a monopoly on the starports of planets such as these, they can strangle the economies of Rebel controlled cities as its nearly the same effect as having a blockade.
Way I see it Rebel cities on Tat will have to fight to avoid being blockaded in. This could be a real problem for Rebel cities on Dantooine as well since the Imps automatically get a starport because of their outpost. IF they latch onto the other two, things get messy.
And Lok, well Lok wont change much, I dont see Nyms getting occupied by anyone but Nym (also seeing as how its the ONLY NPC city on Lok)

There is no such thing as 'neutral', you are either a happy citizen of the Empire serving it, or a citizen rebelling against it.
or a criminal trying to make some money. forgot that part.

Excellent. Will this affect Player Cities in any way?At this time, no it will not.
Right now there are random crackdown squads that wander the country side and scan people. There are also Imperial Probe droids that show up and scan and call in reinforcements. Will these be affected by the changes? They have to be affected somehow becuse right now they change you to overt which can't happen after these chagnes go into effect...

This sounds great, but will the space above each planet be counted in some way or change in some way.
Give us more of a reason to fly in space and let space zones change with the GCW

This is an excellent idea. Tieing in the space game more with the ground game is needed and this is a good oppertunety to do just that.
Also player cities are in bad need of some love. A city should be able to openly allied itself with a faction and gain a patrol of that faction. The more tightly controled that planet is, the more patrols the player city has. If the player city is in opposition to the control faction, then those cities can be 'raided' by the controling faction from time to time. Neutral cities will should get scanner patrolsfrom the control faction from time to time as well.
I can't say this enough, having player cities involved and not just the those on the big 3 planets, will have a much bigger and more exciting impact than NPC cities that are rarely visited. I would go as far to say to scrap the NPC city plans and do the player cities first, NPC cities later. These changes are very interesting and can potentially add a lot to the game but only if people are at those places to enjoy that content.

While neutrality should be supported fully as a viable gameplay option, the game is about the war (Star WARS), and therefore every effort should be made to make players want to participate in it. What we have now is an underwhelming sea of neutrality, where even the majority of the factioned players are little more than cosmetically Imperial or Rebel. It's just not working.
So, I'll stop just short of saying if you don't want to pick a side in the war, don't play. But I will say that, while the neutral option should remain viable and supported by gameplay features, the war should be the primary motivating factor to choosing SWG over another MMO. We didn't pay George $8 each time (plus $14.99 for the DVD) to watch a series of movies about chefs trading food to Bio Engineers so they could craft better components for tailors to make new leotards for dancers. I, personally, paid to see Luke Skywalker and Han Solo shooting Storm Troopers (and Obi-Wan and Anakin cutting up battle droids).
The war is what it's about. If this is all successful, the majority of the players won't be neutral. They'll be factioned and fighting tooth and nail to win the war for their side whether through direct combat or providing supplies to their favorite side.

it sould be if a Imp jedi get scaned they wont bring powerfor force, but if they are a rebel they will call for powerfor force. o ya every thing else is AWSOME!!!!!

Incase you didn't notice, there are only supposed to be 2 Imperial force sensitive figures: Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader. So Imps revealing and attackingJedi/Dark Jediin their ranks is 100% continuity. As is the rebel alliance not revealing and attacking Jedi in their ranks.
Lets just hope that the Imperial communitydoesn't whine about this so much that the Devs feel the need to take it out. We Rebels have a hard enough time as it is!

And, you will be locking out Dark Jedi from major planets.
Just too unbalanced and unfair.
