Yeah, I have a little news. It is very important and Shug had some important input on the matter so we've re-tabled the discussion. We're trying to find a balance between putting cool stuff in the game for everyone and deciding which items should be for everyone and which are for vets. We just want to make the right decision for everyone involved.
I hope you guys take this issue very seriously. One of the biggest issues with the long-term playability of SWG is the utter lack of time-based advancement, and since this actually seems to be a design goal of the game I assume that Vet rewards is your way of compensating for this absence. While obviously you should not restrict an entire class of item to an external factor (like the collector's edition players being the only people in SWG who get to experience eyewear), there is nothing wrong to give better/more desirable versions to Vets.
Am I biased? I'm sure - but I also know what would keep me as a player playing or not. While it's unlikely that Vet rewards would be a game-maker (although the lack of any type of time based advancement has beena game-breakerfor some, by proxy), people currently have little to look forward to in terms ofnon-grind personal development. This will be only amplified after JTL, when unarguably the biggest "feature" people are waiting for/have left and said they would be back for, will be live in-game.
Oh, and to save a second posting, on 19 answers :I know you didn't seem to care for the "19 Answers" threads, but to most people on these boards that was the best example of effective, relevant communication you guys have ever done. Some people are saying it was about making the boards look better for E3, but I don't think that's true - please prove them wrong by returning to your promise of doing it weekly and regularly. Please, TH - do the right thing and stick to the schedule you laid out in the first 19 Answers post.
Even if people don't like the content ofa specificanswer, the reliability and accountability those threads provided could be very valuable in keeping the boards in the "tone" that you desire.

This idea has no worse problems that we see with rare resources or peko peko feathers. With rare resources how to camp a resource before it spawns? If you really want to find a peko peko alb feather you can, I did so this week and guess what, not a camper in sight cause the spawn points are fairly well spread and there is more than one place to find them.
All in all how can this idea, carefully though out, hurt the game?

I completely dissagree.
Forced player interaction is NOT FUN.
Especially when one played in the odd hours when no one else is on!
I have no problem with interacting with others. In fact I enjoy it. But I DO have a problem with having NO choice but interacting is REQUIRED if one needs to advance in the game.
Right now, my biggist problem is Apprentice points.
This is COMPLETELY balls up for me, since trying to find someone to train is almost IMPOSSIBLE when im on.
Something needs to be done about this, please.
I will agree with your point about AP points as I myself, playing on TC in the wee hours of the morn, af trying to figure out how I'm ever going to find anyone to train ever. This problem could be sloved with the option to use AP points to master a prof or a quest type system.
However, the interaction would NOT be forced as you say, all the things could be sold on a vendor. Besides it may even give you something to offer to a vendor that someone would want/need. Besides, as I've tried to point out, the componets would be optional, so you would not have to use them. The items you use now seem to serve you well, so even if someone hated people and didn't wan to talk to anyone they could continue to do so and the games items would be the same as they are now.
Well, Blizzard is looking for a web page correspondant and assistant, TH, if you're tired of working for a company that puts out products that they should be ashamed of.
It would be nice to see some honesty in a state of the game letter, something along the lines of "god, it's f***ed, we know"
I am curious. Why are there so many annoying bugs still? Stupid s*** like power-ups that say +mind cost a year after release, when it actually lowers it? Is the game so complex that you just don't have any spare hands to go around and fix all the errors? Do you just not care? Are you even reading this far?
If it says two stats on the SEA, it should add two stats when being used..
I would be really happy if you could fix this problem.
Daily annoyances:
* this board software is a shame - every mom&pop site can afford something better. Instead of making it work you give us a new "design" (just like those cosmetical changes in SWG....)
* stomachs dont clear when you die
* Pets are getting more and more a total waste of time and effort, my MCH is just useless. Often they just dont react, not even to /tellpet (and yes I use 2-letter commands) or disband/dissapear right when you need them in a battle. Pets are also useless in PvP, and the BE pets are just as quickly killed. You really made CH from being the top wanted profession into being one of the most useless ones. The CH population is dissapearing fast, you over-nerfed it.
* Guild hall costs 9 lots and stores 250 items. As a guild leader it means i am PUNISHED for my effort. I cannot place houses for my members (no lots left), cant use harvesters to push my crafting profession and while the floorplan is enormous the whole thing holds less then what a 4-lot house can hold. Put that down to 6 lots and 450 items and you got balance.
* "You cant do that for another 1 second" - that message always annoyed me, it takes 2-3 seconds to display it....
If I could start a poll Id ask if the game gets MORE or LESS bug with every new patch. My impression is that for every 2 bugs fixed 3 new ones pop up at the moment.
I have repaired my swoop several times, sinking nearly 30k into it, and it's still coming up as non-repaired. It's becoming cheaper as an Artisan to just let it run into the ground and make myself a new one each time.
Seems to start out as massive lag then eventually it stops and the only chat system that still works is spatial.
Was happening on saturday late in the evening and happened this morning before the patch hit there is a thread about it on the chimera boards :- http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Chimaera_Euro&message.id=57541
Tis most annoying as a problem please fix it soon as possible.

If anyone wants to see tuskan observers, head to 0,0 on Tat. That's the only place I've seen them.
Tusken fort this past weekend, 3-4 to observers and an executioner. Took 20 people about 20 mins to kill just the executioner. Lots of FUN
I am ok with dying and still being too full to consume more food/drink and head back into battle. I understand why this is the case but, if there were a way to accelerate the reduction in fullness that would be better than having to wait the standard duration before you can re-engage.
