Thread: Publish 10 Feedback: Jedi Revamp Part 2, The Jedi Trials

I know this isn't the feedback you're looking for but I'm really disappointed that I may have to wait 1-3 days to experience the new publish that was already delayed by a week. I've been putting in extra time in the game for the past week to get myself ready for the Village and now it turns out I may have to wait until Friday!
I know the Village is going to be overcrowded but... it really isn't going to be any better in three days either! :/

If you are curious as to how the response to the /check command effects you in the whole fs thing, here they are..:
Glow > Strong Sense > Surge > Faint > barely > no connection
(taken from jedi_spam.stf string file in publish10.tre)
Note: This relates to how many skill tree's/boxes you will recieve ONCE then old man visits you, not as to when he will, as TH said its random...if anyone has any quarms im sure a dev will gladly back me up on this info
i may be understanding it wrong, but from what i have come to know, the Glow > strong sense, etc is NOT how many unlocks you get but your eligibility for the old man to visit you.
IF you are GLOWING you will get an Old Man Visit in (according to TH) 1-3 days. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR A GROUP NUMBER. YOU HAVE UNLOCKED THE OLD MAN THROUGH THE NEW SYSTEM!
If you are NOT GLOWING and YOU DO have "Holo-Credit" YOU ARE IN THE GROUP SYSTEM. IF YOU ARE GLOWY OR BECOME GLOWY YOU WILL MOVE OUT OF THE GROUP SYSTEM AND INTO THE NEW SYSTEM.

I have no reason to play the game until the old man visits, but the old man won't visit unless I play the game.

First of all...sorry about the double pst :S
With response to the question: "Which 6 skill branches are required to qualify for the Padawan Trials?"; any skill boxes will qualify you for the trials, as long as you spend 24 skill points on force sensative skills you will qualify for jedi initiate (which means you can finally wield a lightsaber, even if it is justa training one). Once you get initiate you will then qualify for the padawan trials, which involve killing some npc called Melichae
if im not mistaken...
close, but not quite right (again from what ive come to understand)
you do need 24 skill boxes but it cant be just ANY 24 skills boxes. it has to be SIX TREES (IEa tree of combat prowess (level 1-4 of a skill)) in order to make padawan. Each tree has 4 boxes, so 6x4=24.
Again to restate it, YOU NEED SIX TREES, not just 24 skill points in force sensitive stuff.

The only thing I'm concerned about with this new system is this:
My main character is what he is ... I would essentially have to drop skills that I want and intend to keep, get my robe to get my second slot, then drop Jedi and FS skills and re-"grind" the skills I've already earned... all in order to have a second character to work towards Jedi.
I've also got the same problem. The way I roleplay my main character, he doesn't even believe in the force "hoeky religion... ancient weapons" and all that. He's got a lot of badges but I dont know if he's got the glow yet (I'll find out after work tonight). I'll have to take him through the whole process to Padawan so I can unlock an extra slot, then give up all the Force skills so that I can get back to where I currently am and just roleplay it like it never happened for him (or maybe he can think he was almost brainwashed into joining a cult).
I know that giving up some points and having to reclaim them isn't as had of "work" as the hologrinders went through, so I'm trying not to complain. Maybe it'd be better if when you were visited by the Old Man that it unlocked your extra slot at that point, so you could choose to go through the trials with the character that you wanted to bea Jedi... but the current system isn't that horrible I guess...
