Thread: Desired Rewards
give us badges at least for completing the theme parks... They give **edit**ty loot, which I can deal with sort of, but if I dont even get something to show I've done it, whats the point?
And as a master weaponsmith and a bounty hunter(separate accounts), I'd say I can reasonably see both sides of things... Looted schematics would be great. Also, looted rare/uber-resources not in current shift possibly... I remember the description of the veermok cave on naboo included a bit about rare resources. At least give a higher chance of good stats... I hardly ever find a high-end gun, and when I do, its stats are as bad as a fully experimented cdef... why even bother making them drop in that case?
I REALLY LIKE the component drops... it'd be nice to see a larger range of them... Also, as a weaponsmith I feel like I'm mistreating riflemen and carbineers to a point, because I wont make weapons with krayt tissues for them, because they use more tissues, and it'd be wasteful... how about moving the optional component onto the final combine, or onto the barrel? Also, those poison weapons some people are concerned about... why not make the poison thing a loot drop component, that you can place in the weapon, instead of looted weapons with terrible stats? Oh, and a 5 min, 5 max, -0.5 projectile rifle barrel is **edit**. If enemies are going to drop standard components that can be crafted, at least make em good... I hate getting a /tell from someone asking what a "projectile rifle barrel" does...
Fix skill enhancing attachments... I was really thrilled when I finally got enough together to get 110 food experimentation, expecting to get an edge over the other master chefs... then it turned out it didn't do anything, and neither have any other SEA's that I've tested
It seems to me that an excellent reward would be a permanent powerup - such as a 3% reduction on hams - that could be added to any weapon -- or something that reduces a cost on armor - since armor is very ham sensitive.
These would neither imbalance the game nor upset crafters since they would be add on's to crafters.
It would be nice if there were crafter missions that could be run for components that are more powerful than normal - so you could have an item constructed around it using artisan help.
Or a special class specific schematic...
lots of ideas ![]()
I would very much love to see the following:
- Unique Weapons!
- Unique Houses!
- Unique Armor!
- Unique Pets!
- Unique Clothes!
- Unique Misc Items! (more)
- Jedi Realated Items!
- Statues or Badges!
Notes on these suggestions:
- The unique weapons would be something that no-one could make, and maybe even unique to the server. Even if they are the worst weapons out there it would be cool to have something that hardly anyone else does.
- Unique houses, who wouldnt want one? Maybe a schematic, or a deed. They would probably be small sized and you get one of five random ones after completing the mission.
- I like the Marauder armor a lot and just started the missions to get them.
- How would it feel to have a pet that no one has ever seen before? Maybe a dwarf rancor? The missions to get these would be something like "Go tame this Maul Grauler and come back for a reward".
- I havent seen much in the ways of unique clothes except for things with weird names and / or attributes.
- More items such as AT-ST helmet, Mystical Orbs, etc.
- Jedi Related items. We have the lightsabre, broken, why not something such as a Jedi Robe, or other Jedi-related objects. Make them very rare though.
- Statues and Badges, something like the peices of art in NPC houses, or maybe a statue of your species, or a badge like the ones you get for doing quests but an object for the badge.
Theres my ideas, hope you like them.

Trophy items for our houses or to wear, such as a krayt skull for the wall, or a Rebellion banner. Or maybe an existing piece of clothing that comes in a unique color, like bright red Crested Battle padding for a wookie, etc.
-Tecumseh
I do agree that loot should NOT be always better than crafter's items. However, a majority of loot after a nice long quest should be something unique and have meaning. Theres nothing like killing a criminal who stole a medpack (bren guy from mos taike) and just getting 30 cr, and some tusken bread or bantha soup...those first of all aren't very nice decorations, and second of all are worthless in the long run and the majority of loot from quests are like this.
I very well like the idea of getting unique schematics for crafters..however, they can ONLY be used once or a number of times. This gives crafters a chance to create cool and rare items! And this is only one of the possibilities!
New loot should not in anyway take away from the crafter, the devs should be a bit more liberal on loot (even though, i tend to go conservative myself!
) and have it built upon existing crafting. Or, have nice cool loot that actually helps your character (not skill enhancers for clothes, more like customizable add-ons maybe?).
Some ideas:
-Rare perm. add-ons to make your gun unique (for the missions that give this out, make the loot random to include several versions of this add-on that effects guns differently or effects a certain type of gun!)
-Rare customizable items that can be used to enhance avatar (could be big with IDs) like maybe tattoos, or wearable eyewear (like eye-patches!
), or something that gives you a more unique you!
-Rare randomly spawned quests that give rare armor or guns. Could be a very good quality gun that a crafter can match, but has a unique perm. add-on (no more of these crappy NPC guns! Leia's launcher pistol for example!)
-Rare temp. weapon power-ups given that can't be made by a crafter
Well, thats all I can think of at the moment. Yes, cool loot would usually not be able to be crafted by a crafter and swg could turn into EQ..but be creative, where there are only one or two very unique items that are uncraftable (there are already things like that in-game) or items that can be crafted, but are unique in a certain skill enhancing way! Or as I mentioned, rare customizable items that can be used on avatar! This is all I ask, all SWG is lacking is the pepper! Spice things up a bit, and they will come!
More stuffed toys like the bantha statue! ![]()
Or in the case of a really hard quest, give out mint condition action figures still in the box. And actually give it an interesting description when you examine it.
Has anyone played Asheron's Call?
The most fun I have ever had in an online game I would have to say was the first time I did the Gaerlan Quest. It's a quest that requires you to have a group composed of characters of varying specialties (much like the base takeovers). But the BEST things about that were:
1) A great setting. An opportunity for some of the games BEST animation work and graphic detail.
2) Traps that challenge the PLAYER not just the character...you have to think your way through it and some of the action is based on your PLAY not just your statistics.
3) A CUSTOM loot drop....at the end of Gaerlan you get to raid his treasurey....which automatically generates a loot item SPECIFIC to that player. And the best part.....a graduated loot drop system where the second time you get a better drop also specific to you. (a timer of course)
4) Something you can wear that shows "I completed the such-and-such quest"....in AC for Gaerlan you got his robe. And the sweetest thing was that if you were the one who did the most damage...you got a SPECIAL robe to differentiate you from the others!
I know this is SWG and not AC. But this quest really really works. It has great replay value, it is a fun group activity, it challenges you beyond just your stats and there is NO boring waiting involved (wait for creature to spawn....one person gets uber loot drop...wait for next blah blah those quests suck). Everyone gets a reward which is good for them and something they can wear to show off that they did it.
If you could make something like this with a Star Wars theme....people would love it I gaurantee it.
We need more things like Krayt Tissue, High Velocity Loaders, etc...
Trying to figure out where to get the things, running around with friends to get them, then taking them to a crafter to build a superb blaster is the way I like things. I honestly think that puttingthese things in the game is one of the best decisions that you guys have made for the game.
What motivates me to go hunt Krayts is the reward at the end of the tunnel. I enjoy myself while I'm out there because of the people. What is discouraging, however, is that people continually jump in with a larger group or ATSTs and steal the loot, or a member of my own group loots the stuff in secret. Hopefully the AT-ST for non-faction PvE will be fixed soon and the group notify options being turned by default will help remedy the other problem.
How about
1. tatoos
2. badges that hang on your armor or clothing
3. sockets that go into armor or clothing
4. power ups like krayts drop.. that you can give to armorsmiths or weaponsmiths to make you an uber item.
5. New titels.
6. time buffs like they had in AC2 .. these buffs wont last forever. but for swg they should last 1-3 days :-)
7. Also food buffs that chefs can't make..or items that you give to chefs to make you uber food.
8. Some kinda cool art picture of a Dragon or eagle that you can paint on your chest plate or helm and have them be diff colors.. these would need a tailer to put them on your clothing or armor!
9. oh you one more tatoos tatoos and umm tatoos :-)
Components that can be used to make great weapons or armor. Perhaps a series of missions/quests/dungeons that give you the needed parts to make a great pistol, or set of armor segments that you can then take to a weaponsmith/armorsmith. Also there is no chance of a critcal failure!
Some profession specific quests would be cool too...
Although I really like a lot of the ideas I see including the schematics (maybe Uber resources for the crafters as well?) what I really would like would be some unique looking wearable item. Maybe something for my home as wel (pictures, statues, etc) but cool looking clothing, jewelery, armor and weapons would be nice. If the armor looked good enough, I may actually start wearing some!
