Thread: Publish 8.2 Feedback: Group Enhancements

Since the patch the 'nearest waypoint' shows up as advertised. However... we have encountered waypoints not dissapearing when the lairs are destroyed. In addition, when the waypoints do not go away, the mission does not payout. My group has not encountered this bug in many months and has only started up since the last patch.
Yeah, same here. In more than 50% is the missions I did, the nearest mission waypoint stayed on the last WP, although the lair was destroyed.
Groups
- When in a group, a waypoint to the nearest group mission is displayed. The nearest mission is the mission closest to the most people in the group.
Nice addition, however you should add an option to turn it off (if there's none?).
- Group member status bars will continue to report position information, even if the player is on the other side of the world. If the group member is on another planet, the planet name is displayed in the status bar
Good Idea, but it's bugged.
I was in a big group and some people where not in the area, later I flied to another planet. There were some things wrong:
- as soon as someone is out of range, younow see the arrow and the distance to him, however the name of this player disappears, same if someone flies to a planet
- some players do not update if you fly to a new planet, maybe half of the players were "disabled" (like it was previsouly to the patch) and you couldn't see where they were, the other half only showed the planet but not the name.
If you fix the bugs it's a nice feature, but now it's bader than post-patch.
Haven't gotten to play with the new group mission waypoint since we went off to do other things instead. However, a couple notes. We had one member of our group who just couldn't sit still while they waited for the rest of the party to show up. They kept taking missions and it would add it to everyone's datapad, etc. Nothing major and we never did them but it was kind of annoying cause it just kept coming back cause someone else would just have to do it during the lows.
I love being able to see the location of the other members when we are jumping planets to hunt elsewhere BUT not having their names just the planet was agrivating because if you forgot who was in the group and they went AFK unexpected you couldn't remember who to pester with a tell to find out if they where still coming. It's a minor thing but it does make a difference.
We did have some problems with the group list not updating when someone left. We had about 10 people in our group for several hours and as people came and went, somehow to phantom slots remained. Nothing would get rid of them until you jumped planet or shuttled.
Finally...and maybe there is a way...how do you kick someone from your group if they are out of range (the kick option doesn't work if they are out of range). As the hunt leader for our group, if I am not RIGHT on top of the activity and someone decides to leave or has to rush off (logout unexpectantly) the only way we can get rid of them once they have left range is to disband and restart a group. It's insane when you have a full group and want one more person but can't because you have two people not even playing but still in your list and no way to ask them to leave.

P.S. Can someone please fix the dang posting thing so I can log in once and not have to retype my post over and over and over again until it decides I am logged in! Or take me off to the home page when I want to post in a thread that took me hours to find.

Missions in a group will not complete when lair/base is taken out. I think this has to do with the new group nearest mission waypoint thing, PLEASE give us a way of turning it off or disable it untill things are fixed.
Ifthe yellow arrow isreally bugging you then just right-click on the waypoint monitor bar and select the "[x]" next to "Nearest mission for group". That should turn it off.
everything else good
since we have the group wayp we actually dont need the nearst mish wayp. Do we?
When actually hunting in a group, it was annoying having to find out who had the closest WP after each mission, this gets rid of that problem completly.
I do agree that it can be slightly annoying when in a sologroup, but I am going to make the assumption that this is intentional.
An option to turn it off would be nice though, not only when you are in a sologroup, but sometimes when out hunting you skip a few missions because you need to check out vendors, and the nearest group mission thing can get a little annoying because you have 4 - 5 vendor WPs activated.
The_Bishman wrote:All I really heard today was...."sorry folks, were all working on jump to lightspeed...please come back in a few months...".This is stupid, things which are more important to this game should be the main focus of developers. I mean if tailors couldn't see necklesses from launch, why wasn't it fixed nearly a yeah ago?!I think the developers should just take a time out from all the new jedi updates, JTL, new dungeons and quests to make a small publish that fixed (or attempt to fix) the common and anoying bugs in this game.As a publish name it could be called..."Publish 8.5 : SWG Rebuilt".Whats more important to me? a: The fact that I have to reapeatedly repair my vehicle again and again because a bug make it look like I never repaired it after going to a garage. (after storing)or b: An expansion that hasn't been released yet, does not have an impact on the way I play this game and will not due so for some time.My two cents.
If you had taken the time to read the JTL interviews, you would have known that the team that is working on JTL is not the same as the team working on these enhancements / fixes.
Regarding the "necklace is not showing" problem, well, I work as a developer, and any cosmetical bugs that don't affect the product (you can still wear the necklace and it shows then, right?) would fall to the bottom of the list.
I think this was a good change. It helps a lot of people, and with the combat rewamp, I am guessing that sologroups are history anyways, so it might even help you sooner than you think.
Your complaing is that rather than doing this they should have spent their time fixing more important bugs..... I'm sorry, but the bugs you think are more important are cosmetical, non-functionality stopping bug, that make no difference in gameplay (I mean, seriously, who cares if you can wear a necklace or not alltogether)?
Its not that it bugs me its just that after it was put in game we are having atleast 50% more missions not finish, if we had a option to turn it off we could see if it really is the problem because I don't know if just clicking the x will really turn it off. I've found that its not just group missions, they will still bug solo which could still be happening because of the new waypoint thing.
