Thread: Bounty Hunter changes...
The attention paid to our mission/xp issues is greatly appreciated, as the grind toward MBH will be somewhat less tedious. Thank you.
That said, I am in agreement with the above statements regarding defense: we desperately need some mods that allow us to compete. As has been pointed out by thousands of us previously, our investment in skill points and time needs to be meaningfully reflected in our abilities. This does not appear to be the case, however, when pistoleers can dodge my every shot while I stand there helplessly as they hit me with stopping shot, or when TK fighters ignore my dizzy, brush of my shots, and then beat me senseless because, not only do I have NO real defense versus melee or dizzy (or anything else), but I also can't even effectively hit my target before he is in range to attack me. Something seems wrong with this picture. Please, please, please give us some defense and thus make us the powerful class we (as our SP expenditure indicates) were intended to be. As crucial as those mods are in any PvP situation, I struggle to understand why our profession was denied them entirely.
Dear lord, you people will whine about anything, won't you? I don't know why they call these Developer's Forums or Discussion Forums, seems to me that most of the messages are people bitching and whining about...well..just about anything.
Admittedly, some do include posts that are worth reading, but those are few and far between. I've seen some good points made, and some fine suggestions, but I'd imagine it gets hard for the Developers sometimes to sort through all the griping and sniveling in order to get to the worthwhile content.
I like my Bounty Hunter, she's fun to play, bugs and all. Yeah I get irked when my mark spawns inside a building or something, but hey, games have bugs, deal with it and go get another mission, or is that really too hard to do?
Pfft.
PS Thanks for the xp and rewards boost, muchly appreciated. The suggestions on defense are good too, after all, Bounty Hunter is a tough Profession to get to, we should get something out of it. ![]()
thank you for the adjustment made to investigation. i was about halfway through 3 towards 4 when it went live and i was seriously losing my religion about it - it had taken me over 2 months to get that far, and i was looking at another week at least, but low and behold - boom two days to finish up and get to master. that was great.
now, maybe you can tell us some things. like, how come at master we have worse defenses than a master dancer? how come we're only going to get melee mitigation, when we don't even have a melee attack? how come one of our master specials, fastblast, is purposefully gimped in favor of the enemy? (since incap results from one ham getting to 0, having damage spread across all 3 is the most enemy-friendly way for that damage to be applied).
i mean, if we are supposed to be all-offense, then how come our offenses are not strong enough to warrant such an approach? if we're not supposed to be all-offense, then how come we have no defenses/dodges/etc?
i'm seriously curious. the only class i've wanted to play since i started at the beginning of july was a bh, from what i read in my handy little manual that came with the game, and from what i know of bh's from the eu/movies/other games. i'm a master bounty hunter now, and let me tell you, this is not what i was expecting, and not what a lot of us were expecting. is that intentional?

seriously tho eyeshot is not that strong.. it's just idiots think it's cool and smart to migrate thier action and health stats up high and decide to sacrafice mind.. if you got 500 mind and 900 health and action... you can bet I'm going after your mind. it's nothing more in dmg than a rifleman can do. also using the scatter... that has some armor piercing I admit. but ummm so does the t21. trust me the spam eyehot thing aint the mold. you just have no mind ( as proven by your post).
But ummm what I dont get is why when you examine resists for other profession they all have something. EXCEPT us.

I mean yeah our skills are good..but not good enough to warrent us not not having any defenses. Heh I dont mind if they up our current skills to the level where we dont need defense (/emote immagines a carb attack that hits for over 500 easy) but as things are we need them. More than 85% of the master and novice BH I talk to on our sever agree it needs SOMETHING for defense.

yes and they work about 1 in 3 times in PVP and ALSO once again examine the other elite professions they also have knockdown skills except commando ( as if they need it, the flame2 and 3 is a INCAP skill
most professions have some knockdown DEF as well.

BUT nothing.. look we use up the most skill points in the whole game.. BH leaves what? about 30 skill points left over? the other elite professions even get to dabble to get additionaly defenses.. take a carbineer that dabbles in pistol line 3toget the def mod line. or better yet take my swordsman friend that is dabbling in other melee skills when he is done not olny will he have KDdef and others ( see brawler and TK skills)... but he's also going to have over +100 ranged defense. And we are supposed to be the highest skill point using profession in the game?HA! We can't even HIT him half the time. I dont mind not being able to dabble that's what make us elite in my opinion.. but it's insane that other elite professions can dabble 20x the defense we can. just because they have the skill points.. this def dabbleing I guess was not researched properly by the dev team..even COMMANDO can dabble for additional defense, and quite effectively.
By all means give me another "But Masuvius" and I'll shoot that one down with logic as well.
Sure we do okay in PVP, but the biggest reason for that is that alot of people pick up BH because it is THE PVP class. So people wanting to do PVP are usually either Commando; Creature Handler ( see: poke-mon masters), or they are Bounty Hunters.

WELL do something to try to make it happen, if people dont listen, post on other threads. But dont stand there and let the novice pistoleer ( carbineer, TK,rifleman ,commando ,pikeman, ect) kick your butt. unless you are a novice in in one of these professions, in which case just shut your mouth and PVP as much as possible now before they fix us. Because we ARE a huge population it WILL get fixed or you'll start seeing less and less of bounty hunters paying SOE so that we can suck.

Thanks to this change I made MBH on Saturday.
Dev's--I'm curious what are the long term visions of the BH proffession and especially MBH. I HATE going to the BH boards cause it's nothing but grief....grief....grief. I can only imagine that you feel the same way. Essentially "no matter what we do people are not satisfied." I try to focus more on the positive versus the negative.
Personally I think we should be more powerful (given the skill point investment and the fact that it takes us so long to master our proffession), but I'm not the type to scream to the hills flaming the devs or other proffessions. I understand that you have a job to do and you want to try to provide as much balance as possible to keep everyone as interested in their proffessions as possible. I also understand the motivation
All said, I would be curious to know what are some of the contemplated directions you are considering for BH. It could help me with my strategy in game play.
