If you are doing a lot of bazaar redesign, might I suggest you start a thread for general suggestions on improving how the bazaar works. I realize that some of the suggestions could not be implemented in the desired timeframe, but you might get some that could and you might get others you could do later.

Personally, I would love to have some more search functionality. When I'm willing to scour the galaxy for a particular resource or item, I hate having to slowly slog through page after page of small print. Especially with the number of people willing to put a single unit of a resource or the 50000th CDEF pistol or broken datapad up for sale...

TH,

I know your job is really tough, but I think the #1 thing that the player base is looking for (especially on the weekly roundtable forum) is a simple acknowledgement that you are hearing what we are saying. Perhaps a simple post such as "I have read all posts up to 4pm on XX/XX/2004. -TH" would make a lot of people VERY happy.

Thanks a ton!

I certainly hope that youdo not regretthis decision to cripple cross-profession and general gameplay discussion among the community as you continue in this game's development.

The stated benefit of having 'everything' in one place is absurd. There is no room in this one thread for discussion on EVERYTHING that does not fit neatly into a 'profession'. There isn't room in one thread to discuss 1% of it.

I don't understand what has happened to change the value of our input as a community, you folks used to pretend you cared, at least now there won't be so many folks pouring hours into well thought out discussions that will never be acknowledged by anyone who matters.

I think the idea of switching to single threads to discuss individual topics just leads to thread hijacking in one form or another. Frustrated people generally try to get their point across by any means possible...

and I completely agree with an edit button

Sure, everything is getting looked at. TH,

Call me crazy, but communication usually means oh I don't know discussion, talking, posting or something. You guys made a huge deal about how you were going to improve communication in this new year. So far I have barely seen squat. If that is how it is going to be, fine. BUT you should explain to the community what your new communcation system really is. I'm sure it is all fine and dandy and helpful for you guys. But the last couple of weeks have been as bad or worse than the time before they hired you.

You say deal with your correspondent, well I haven't seen anything new from my correspondent (weaponsmith) in months. Considering that you are planning on changing/reworking something with weapons, I find it suprising that we haven't seen or been asked anything as weaponsmiths. Maybe you are still working on the system and aren't ready for feedback, maybe you just don't care what we think. We just don't know. (My guess 50/50 on both of those.)

I'm not trying to whine and moan here, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who got excited to see some 'new communication' from you guys with all your big announcements and fancy new forums. But as far as we can tell you have just cut off 95% of all 'communication'. If thats what you reallywant,PLEASE JUST TELL US and call it whatthese board are really becoming: big focus groups.

The grade I give your new 'communction' system so far this year: D-

We're having an issue with the Dev Tracker ignoring Thunderheart again. While we slap it around to get it to like him, I'll try to bump his posts so they appear on the Dev Tracker. Kids, don't try this at home (in other words, "bumping" isn't allowed, this is a short term solution).

The issue is STILL the fact that your forum search engine truncates after a certain number of posts AND truncates such that it cuts off the most recent instead of the oldest.

Agree with above. I can't search for anyone's posts, or even within my own because of this truncation "feature."

i'm not sure that this IS a bad idea, if only people in general weren't idiots. i've worked with the public for YEARS, and when you work with a group of people, the dumbest people always cause problems. if you have a forum for "other" then you will get all the crap people think isn't getting listened to in the CORRECT forums. i think if people merely read what was being posted before them, and posted appropriately according to topic, then there wouldn't be any realy problem with putting miscellany in one thread, but people can't stick with miscellany, there is always a zealot championing one cause or another ready to jam it in anything that even vaugely resembles a channel of communication.

so, i agree with you that this "one thread can handle it" thing is off, but not intrinsically, they just thought we had a more sensible and selfless player base. i think a sensible and selfless player base is a little fantasy that game developers dream about. sorry
