I wasted an hour running around Tatooine to talk to three artist to read some dull text and got nothing in return if thats what you mean. WOULD IT HAVE BEEN SO HARD TO HAVE THEM SHOW YOU THEIR WORK. instead of jsut describing it ort is this just a text based game?


What did you like?


So far nothing. Nothing seems any different or better. (same goes with the so-called Imperial Crackdown)


What didn’t you like?


Running around hearing a bunch of NPCS mouth off and getting nothing in return and finding out that the Talmont missions are now giving FXP and since i did them ages ago i dont get any.


Having to run a round and REDO things i did 6 months ago to find out if the have changed. only to find they havent.


Could you guys maybe SPELL OUT what is different in the Patch notes instead of just giving the vague one liners that tell us little to nothing.


All in all Publish 6 is a big yawn and still no bug fixes or profession improvements, unless you are a chef i guess.

I"ve seen a lot of people posting this in this, and other threads: Can we get an answer on how long the voting in the bestine election and the museum contest takes? I started both of these last thursday and as of lastnight still no resolution. I've heard there are some cool items as rewards for these two quests and i'd like to see the difference in bestine depending on who is in power but nothing.. and it's getting to be a pain to keep going back to tatooine to check.

These are just my thoughts, don't take this as a flame as I am only trying to help.


This is where I have a HUGE disagreement with you and SOE. Adding these little things should not be considered content! They are things people do becuase they are bored, and that is not content.Actual "content" (IMO) would be creating professions that served an actual purpose.


For example: Create aGCW Profession (say Guardsmen).



  • This profession would require you to be a Master Pistoleer (or Carbineer/Rifleman) and Master Squad Leader or Master TKA (any of the Brawler type) and Master Ranger (you can create any combination with multiple purpuses)

  • They guard and protect a GCW Stronghold (Bestine or Anchorhead) and they (the actual player)would do the inspections and stuff that the NPC Stormtroopers are suppose to be doing, but here the ACTUAL players would be doing it and there would be many per city and they would have NPC support (this should be for IMPS and REBELS).

  • Be able to detect covert players (with in a certain range).

The point is that CONTENT should be based ongiving the different professionan ACTUAL PURPOSE and then tieing those profession together - that creates content.



  • Guardsmen would also beon the look out for Smugglers.

  • Smugglers would have their own missions and content that requires them to transfer "stuff" from planet to planet and city to city. They would have to be on the look for these Guardsmen (and other professions) to make sure they do not get caught and lose their cargo (not complete the mission).

  • Missions could come from other players, say Weaponsmiths or Armorsmiths who would need to hire a Smuggler to get their resourse off another planet (since they would not be allowed to).

  • If the Smuggler fails the mission,the Resourse would be returned to the Harvestor (not lost) and another mission made. The point is, the professions are tied together via the CONTENT.

  • Bounty Hunters would be tracking down smugglers that fail to many missions


Theme Parks and Point A to Point B quests are not content (IMO). I have a more detailed post on this here:http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=GCW&message.id=104216

Is the Bestine election bugged? I did the whole quest(as well as prefect talmont) on the day of the patch, and yet Sean STILL tells me hes thankfull and will reward me if he wins. When will we find out if our candidate wins or not?

Its exceedingly annoying just waiting and waiting for the election to end, and although I understand you have to allow lots of people a chance to participate, anything longer than a once-per-week cycle for these votes is just over the top, and also boring.

What did you like? nothing.
What didn’t you like? Is it just me or do others think this whole voting thing then having to wait forever just to see IF you won anything is a P.O.S.?

I am truly unimpressed by this whole thing. 1st I go and start the aids investigation only to get back to the gov and find out the vote just finished and I missed it! Now I get to wait HOW LONG for the next time around?? And then after that get to wait HOW LONG to find out if I won??? What a piece of crap.
Then I go and do the museum deal and fly over to mos eisley them mos espa. talk with the artists, fly back to bestine and vote for the one I like only to discover not only do I not get anything I get to wait an unknown amount of time to find out who won. Then on both of them I get to make sure and come back at just the right time and see if I won anything. what a pain in the a$$!!!

Don't get me wrong, I think the voting to see what direction the city "events" go is kinda cool. I also think having a hand in who gets their art exibit is cool but, hey, we went through the motions of investigation and voted for who we want, now let us have our reward based on who we voted for. Not, lets wait a month just to see if all our efforts were in vain. Oh, and don't forget to go back at just the right time to get that reward (if you won). you wouldn't want to miss it!

I grade it a solid "F".

To be honest the voting system are to complex. you go there and try find the candiate and you have to do a mission. First problem is that where is the person ? no sign .run around all room 15 min before i found my guy. Second i need do mission to help my guy .AH ok i though they gave me an idea and i found the woman in the poor quarter but the person in medic senter was there not. So i cant vote.


The prosess should be easy and fun for all part,it is not. i played 7 th month and if i have so big problem what will a new beginner have?.


There should be one voting box in mayor room. one waypoint given out to the room where both candiate have a table at each side of the room. There you should have people standing and speaking about the campain.


If we need run silly mission aleast do it like this. If you dont want too just go back to the mayor and vote, that would count as 1 vote for youre guy.(that way all can do it)


Two have an active mission for peopel who want to help out like today, if they manage do it they get to vote 3 votes for the person they choose. call it they go and find other npc that give them right to vote for them.


This way you get both group happy.





also i want to shoot back on the covert peopel who attack storm trooper. i was declared and i could not shoot on the person who killed them one bye one.People who attack storm trooper should get a flag even if they are neytral so normal imperial can help out.


the star wars feeling.


Well i had that feeling last night. we where a group of people from imp matrix (chilastra server) doing rebel mission to earn faction point. we where out in the dessert and suddenly one guy told look up what is that. out from the clear sky a imperial shuttle was coming and pop out 12 storm trooper and whent off. the storm trooper run strait to oure target and helped us kill the rebel.


I got real star wars feeling here, this was just like the picture from the last movie against the droids. i know that must have been pure luck, but it was a golden moment and i hoping for suprice like this in the future.I only dream that this will happen more in the future. i did not belive my eye,and was the best thing i have seen in all my 7 month as player.

Yes I did.

As far as I know nothing was re-designed. Only difference I noticed was the piles of dead ST's and increased Rebel presence.


Do you like the rewards?


Havent seen one yet.

Didnt feel like doing yet another Fed-Ex task as I heard how much "content" this particular event had.

How the consept was not implemented to the game.



To give you some pointers if you try to make this thing work.


Theres an election going on in Bestine? You cant even notice it. Make some banners, more npc's to the city hall so it actually looks like theres something going on and so on.


Spawn tougher Troopers if the cannon fodder gets to be fodder for the cannon. Garrison buildings, Imperial shuttles, static Imperial npc's, Troopers guarding important buildings like hospital and shuttle ports.

I think there is something missing from all of the tatooine cities. There is a lack of activity. I'm sure there were more than one starport per city. The towns feel like a ghost town. NPCs should have something going on in their lives. Let them fight eachother in cantinas. We need stuff like ships dropping down from the sky, unloading cargo and people taking it away to make it look like there is something happening. I remember AO had the notum wars expansion pack. They added these ships that flew to the ground from motherships rested and went back up. They werent collidable and added alot of mood to the game. You have the ships in the sky, but they fly overhead to no destination, make them enter the city and such. the cities dont have the hustle and bustle they should, and lastly there is a lag issue, someone needs to address it again. Cities like theed and large cities bring me to 1 fps. Im on a good machine with a t3 connection too.

Now then, as I have just come back to the game I have to say it's all very exciting. The changes that have been made are fabulous! I've spent alot of time in Bestine and to me it now has a flavor to it that makes it distinct from the other cities on Tat.

If the st's did do 1 shot kills the movies would be pretty short wouldnt they, read the books and you will see that st's are pretty elite soldiers, they arent boba fett, but they are alot stronger than f.ex tusken raiders who seem stronger in the game than the st's, anyway, no rebels ingame are luke, yoda nor han soloor close to be as strong as thoose, so therefore they should be stronger.


otherwise join the "oh no a st owned omfg nerf nerf its hard beeing a rep"
