About Jedi:Now I'll actuallytry for it (when the change is made). There's no way in hell I'd ever "star over again" ...When Luke began his training, he didn't manifest intoanother dimension as a different person. The current system kind of defeats the whole 'point' of Jedi.

Let's look at what they said in context:

"[17:41] [Keldarin] Enabling your Force Sensitive skills will no longer require revoking skills or significantly changing you character.

[17:42] [Keldarin] There also won't be a specific Force Sensitive slot anymore, you will actually enable the Force skills for your current character and progress from there."

Specifically, let's look at: "Enabling your Force Sensitive skills will no longer require revoking skills or significantly changing you character."

From the sounds of that, your Jedi skills will not cost you your current skills. What this could mean is the Jedi tree opens for your character and skill point wise is seperate from the regular professions. This makes sense and fits continuity. Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and Jaina Solo are all excellent pilots as well as Jedi. Let's wait and see what the full plan is.

I applaud the new jedi concept. I was always against this jedi profession, since it hurts the SW continuity, but anyway...

I think legacy jedis (players who already unlocked their slots) should not have an advantage of having two characters.

They should give the player's first char jedi xp equivalent of their jedi character, enough so the main char could develop the same skills.

Also there will be need for a big revamp on jedi auto suficiency, since there will be no rich main char to support it...

Anyway, i hope to see fewer jedis, and only really hardcore players at that, more in line with the star wars universe

I disagree with the hardcore opinion. On my server I have a million credits waiting to give to the first Jedi I see actually BEHAVE like a real Jedi. The current system has attracted nothing but pure power gamers and the 733t d3wDs. Jedi should be one of the most roleplayed classes in this game. Yes it should take work, a lot of work, but it should not be so forbidding that the only players to reach it make a complete mockery of everything the Jedi stand for in Star Wars continuity. While official numbers have not been released in a while, conservative estimates have this game at 300,000 boxes sold, with a current player base of 100,000. That means 2/3 of the players that buy this game are leaving. Some of that is bugs or poor saps picking professions that were broken, but a large part of that is a game tha twas advertised for casual players and roleplayers handing their best feature to the powergamers. More than anything this game needs to stop trying to cater to both ends, and needs to pick what side of the fence it is going to sit on. Here's hoping the don't forget the R in MMORPG like so many MMORPG's have.

#1 reason Jedi slot plus main slot are needed. KRAYT PEARLS. How is a Jedi gonna get a Krayt pearl solo? He has no skills to make money, he can't even harvest meat or hide to sell.

What I am worried about is the fact that future Jedi will have one character per server, where current Jedi have two. Devs, will you be addressing this imbalance? If not, why not, and if so, how?

This is very distrubing news indeed. This is a serious breach of contract as far as I'm concerned. Haven't seen the transcipts yet and I would like some more details if anybody has them. I'll did through stratics a bit.

If there are people who pay $15/month and have 2 toons, then I want to pay only $7.50 if I can't.

[17:42] [Keldarin] There also won't be a specific Force Sensitive slot anymore, you will actually enable the Force skills for your current character and progress from there.

I hope we get more info on this soon. I only have one char. Everyone I know if this game plays on the same server.

I know that I am making assumptions, but it looks like in order for me to see what playing a jedi is like I'll have to do one of two things:

1. Have my main become force sensitive. I don't like this idea because I would like to be able to play with the people I know without worrying about bounty hunters coming after me.

2. Make a new char on another server. I don't have time to level up another char to the point where it would be able to do the Jedi quests. I also have no desire to play on a server without my friends. This option seems similar to holo grinding since I would be mastering professions just to do the quests and would be grinding as fast as I could so that I could play my main again.

Many people may argue that if I really wanted to be a Jedi then I would have no problem doing one of these 2 things. I understand that point. I just think the Jedi system should increase the fun of the game and neither of the two options above seem like any fun to me. Becoming a Jedi Master is sort of the end game and if it's not an enjoyable experience then what's the point of trying.

ok...i worded it a bit wrong in my first post. I was just trying to say that I don't like option 1 because I would never be able to hunt or run around with my friends/PA without the PvP worry. Some days I'm just not in a PvP mood. I realize that as a jedi I would have BH after me, that's part of the excitement of the class. But what about on the days where I don't want to play a jedi? That choice would be taken away from me.

Of course I could always go with option 2, but I really don't want to play without the people I know. I've known them all for several years and through many games. This would make becoming a Jedi a boring grind. I would eventually meet new people on this new server but it's not the same as playing with people you know really well.

I'm just looking for the fun factor of being a jedi from the eyes of a more casual player. I know a lot of people love the idea of your current character becoming FS, I just wanted to show a different point of view on the idea.

Jediblues,

Jedis are supposed to be rare, and any system imagined to keep this so will always benefit the powergamers.
If a system was devised so the casual gamer could create a jedi, everyone would have a jedi, and this game would have to be changed to a "Game based on Star Wars".
I do agree with you that almost all jedis are and will be the worst players possible, simply because they will never act as a real jedi, no roleplaying, etc.
So there will never be a perfect solution unfortunatelly.
IMO Sony made the worst move when they added jedi to the game, but at the time, it was their biggest attraction too, since every since human being always dream of being unique, it is part of the human nature, i suppose.

Fellstaff, regarding the problem where jedis need an economic support, specially about Krayt pearls and other rare and expensive loot, it is to be expected this issue will also be taking into consideration when remaking the jedi system.

All in all, only time will tell, and we can only make assumptions, we will only be able to see how things will end, when the system is announced, but i am pleased so far, since my biggest fear was loging in one day, and seeing nothing but jedis running around...

The system needs to be difficult. It needs to require thinking, strategies. It needs to be different for different people so that you can't just go to the web and print out the "Jedi Walkthru". But it should still be fun and accessiblefor both power gamers and casual players, even if it take the casual players a year or more to achieve it.

There are big possibilities for this and I can't wait to see what they come up with. The devs should go back and study some of the theories from before the whole profession/holocron things was revealed. There were some great ideas out there.
