If you die as a Jedi and then get Rez'ed by a doc, the next time you die, you lose double the xp (i.e. 400k) if you get rez'ed twice, then the next time you cloan, you lose 600k (etc.)

Armor and Weapon Timers SUCK Donkey. The rest of the publish seems great. For the love of god, undo these timer things, they are sucking my will to live. HEHE. Well, I don't like 'em.

Ahem - Thunderheart, he asked about "outside of combat" and you replied with a "during combat" answer?

why is there a delay outside of combat when taking armor on and off?? where is the balance problem with this when you are NOT in combat??

The 3 second delay during combat was put in because of the armor and weapon equipping macros. Some of the problems associated with "instant armor" areinstances like theJedi "armor macro" wherebya Jedi could press a single toolbar button that would unequip all of their armor instantly, allow the to then use their force powers and then press that button again and re-equip all of their armor instantly. There are other situations in the game where players were getting unfair heals and weapon advantages because of this.

Bounty Hunters have a particular pain with this because it hamstrings some of their most effective combos. There are other examples of this as well, but the change was necessary. The other aspect to this is that players were using these macros to compenasate for certain combat shortfalls. The right answer for the game is to address those things in the combat balance.

TH,

I STRENOUSLY disagree that there are ANY battle advantages to armor switching macros, and I think the devs REALLY screwed the pooch on this one...

First, let's talk about jedi. Jedi armor switching is a moot issue. There is NO reason WHATSOEVER, to nerf 33 classes just because it is unbalancing for one, single class (jedi) to macro switch armor.

(snip)

Why are devs being so clueless about this, and why can't they see that the solution is 10 times more annoying and game-breaking than the alleged "problem" itself?

Why?

What a waste of forum space.Quit complaining about your win button being taken away. You are wrong on alot of what you wrote sorry to say.

Well I notice he offered discussion to try and prove his points. What do you offer to try and prove yours? (that he is wrong on alot of what he wrote)

i whole heartedly agree with you on this moon. though i know the reason why the armor was fixed this way it is annoying for you to have to put up with the childish comments from other players while your going though the 30 second armor equip. Something must be done for the female characters when you are equipping your armor. Cant you fix it that they do keep clothed until the armor is put in place?i back you up 100% moon

TH,

Hasn't the Jedi aspect of the "instant armor" been rendered moot? My understanding is that Jedi are now unable to wear armor or would their robes be considered armor. I realize that there may be other issues that you are looking at as well like swapping DOT weapons and stacking them. Could there be a more effective solution here such as applying a DOT timer instead of an equip timer?

No, Jedi can wear armor - - they just can't wear armor and use Force powers. And fwiw, its not *just* because of Jedi...there were other instances as well. That was just the best example.

Was it really necessary and were there NO other options available other than nerfing EVERY SINGLE PLAYER of the game because of the obscure exploits of a handfull of people? I highly doubt it. I cannot stand not knowing what weapon, if any, I have armed because there's some mysterious three second pause. I've NEVER cared that a Jedi could do anything, yet because of the devs unhealthy obsession with Jedi I personally suffer now. You cannot "fix" the game by making people suffer who would otherwise have been completely unaffected by the root problem.

Okay, the previous few posters and so many before them have done a good job of covering some of the ingame technical reasons
on how this armor/weapon speed 'correction' was a poor decision. Sorry for the negative start to this post, but it's on my chest, has
to be released. If you just look at the response how can there be any doubt that the changes were ill-conceived, heavy-handed and
most important: ill-TIMED. You keep on speaking of 'combat balance', but why saddle us with this sweeping gameplay-affecting
change months BEFORE the balances go into affect that make these changes viable?

(snip)

Sorry if this post had an overly negative tone, but these changes--as implemented--were obviously quite reactionary in nature and very clearly their impact on the various classes was not thought through. Or if they were putting them in NOW was quite ill-advised. As so many have said, if it's 'going to get better with the Balance' why put it in NOW in the first place?
Respecfully,
Mik

You make this point well. I wish you had been by our side when in Dec 2003 CH was nerfed for exactly the same reason "in prep for combat balance". In our case many months before the balances.

So hose everybody, eh? I don't use macros to put my armor on and off. I put my armor off before I fight, and remove it when I'm done. As such, I've never taken advantage of any of these exploits you're talking about, and am now pissed that you've stuck me with a 30-second time sync to put on my armor. It's B.S. I fail to understand how you people can call waiting fun.

Well.. it's all good that you've made the change with wearing armor vs. force powers... but why can't we at least wear backpacks..... I mean... seriously... Luke jumped around like a madman with Yoda on his back... and we can't even use a simple backpack.

Can we please get that ability.

here's an annoying bug.

Issue: Enemy warping
Server: Kauri
Planet: Dathomir
Location (x,y): Most anywhere
Your profession: Rifleman/Ranger
Instructionson how to recreate the bug: If you kill some rancors, when their health gets to the point the start to run, they warp instead. Generall the warp is approx. 100-110m away, and in the air a good 20-30m. This issue doesn't happen every time, but it does happen a lot.

Good luck on the fix.
