Personaly i think it should work like this. Proffesions preiviously masterd should count, perhaps everyone one perfesision will shave a few quests of and a holo maby more, outher then the fact that it will probly take a few months of questingit is a good idea

I do remember reading at some point that while these quests will be more fun than hologrinding, the new method shall take longer to achieve a result. Whether or not this new method will be anymore difficult however remains to be seen

this is just great...
I have been proffession grinding in hopes of being able to advance in the new system.
Well Devs, if you are going to renig on your word in the SACRED JEDI ARCHIVES - take it out of the Jedi archives so you quit misleading people. In the Jedi Archives you say that credit will be given to professions mastered. Well in this cute village idea you nerf that progress.
You guys need to post something in game or on the front of the website - that says "We lied, were going a different route" Sorry for wasting all your precious time spent on playing our game, not to mention your hard earned $$$ for buying multiple accounts.
Gimme a break.
Somehow i saw that the devs can track how many holo professions were done, just not the specific ones. Can u back date your logs to Pub 9 and see how far along people were. IE - I had 3 of my holos done out of i total i think of 5 professions. If you balance out the last profession as carrying half the weight load - I would be almost half way done on my path to Force Sensativity OR be able to progress almost twice as much (you could do that as lowering the Jedi XP per box in the force boxes of the FS Path)
So some credit needs to be given. I didnt pick this game up to play for 7 months towards Jedi and find that it is all nothing. the game was $44 + $105 for 7 months (excluding account number 2). the box says "follow the pathto become aJedi", not "try your hardestto become a Jedi then WE push the RESET button and you now start over - mwa ah ah ah ah..."
SOME CREDIT HAS TO BE GIVEN
I like the village idea - best creativity I have seen from this company in a while. All the garbage that has been going on with the push backs makes me want to go apply for a job there and give you guys some creativity and motivation to get things moving, because City of Heros is looking promising. Heck I logged on to Everquest the other day.
Oh and the quest journal - sure why not put it in there anyway.
Yah, I am little cheesed....

Village of Aurilia=Great Idea
Quest Journal=Best Addition to SWG Ever
Just one question: Will you have to complete all of the FS quests and have all the skills to become a Jedi, or will you have to just master one full FS profession (4 blocks by 4 blocks with a novice and a mastery block), or will you just need to complete one column of 4 (like you do now when you are becoming an elite profession like Carbineer or Armor Smith)?
I see no reason a Jedi should be required to be FS in all fields, most Jedi are actualy best in just one specific thing.

Really great ideas, both village and quest journal...
Still wondering how to figure out the person who would invite you... I hope that won't be a random NPC showing up only 1 min every day or any hermit-like quest... Maybe a NPC coming up to you when you're making what your prof makes... crafting for crafters, fighting for fighters, healing (or more like boffing
) for docs, etc...
Really got no precise idea for the quests themselves... I'd like them related to the skillboxes you'd like to have... The problem is to find a way to make it hard (not like "deliver this to npc X or kill 5 womp rats") but not almost impossible (random npc spawning...). make something that takes time (like having to find special ressources to craft an item, find them in a specific place, and conversing with npc will give you hints on where this ressource is located, as it should be a different place for everyone), etc
Good job devs, keep on it

Maybe the Village of Aurilia can be a continuation of the Rebel Themepark/Imperial Themepark and you get to return to Luke/Vader's. I just finished the Rebel Themepark and and realized that Luke was becoming more aware of the force the more i talked to him. The way this can work is for the Rebels at the end of the first part of the Rebel Themepark you talk to Luke again and he'll tell you of the Village of Aurillia. He'll tell you that his old friend had told him about the place and it seemed to be of some interest to Luke. Luke will ask you if you want to continue help the Rebel and go to the village. For the Imperials, Vader will say that he has heard reports of minor problems on an unknown planet he will ask that you check it outand kill anyone that defies the Empire. He'll ask you if you want to continue your journey for the Empire and help. For the Imperials it'll be a little different from the rebels since they were sent to kill the people of the village. When the imperial arrives on the planet he will be persuaded to keep the village a secret and in return they would teach him the ways of the force. The only thing i didn't think of was a way for the neutrals to do thecontinuationquest thing, but maybe Jabba the Hutt Themepark could work for the nuetrals.

At this point... I don't care. You'll do what you want anyway. Just let us know when you're done screwing around. I just might reactivate my accounts then.

Village is a good way to start the quests.. but not a good way to finish them.
First: You should have to earn the respect of the people camping outside the town before you are trusted to enter. Small quests that are not difficult but complex to complete.
Second: Once admitted to the town then you must do various tasks to get you force skills and learn the ways of the force(the known part to get a jedi). You can choose the "difficulty" of the quest to give more or less Jedi XP. Quests should be geared to take more time rather than being difficult single mobs. Quests cannot be dropped once they are known OR a dropped Quest gives you euqal - Jedi XP ( Drop a quest that yields 2000 XP and you loose 2000 XP ). This prevents the drop and re-take for a "easy" one.
Third: You have learned more that the people in town could ever teach you about the force (you have vested 20 points). Now you are given a clue the first of say 40 different "mini" quests of which you will have to do say 12 to get your last 4 boxes. The 40 random quests are clues to who to speak to. Once the person is found they require you to do something in order to learn your last points. The last 4 things you get are always the same.
The Final 4:
Doing the required quests will yield you:
A. A Jedi Robe (which you cannot yet wear).
B. The ability to make a Refined Crystal.
C. The ability to make a Saber Crafting Kit.
D. If you choose to become Padawan you are given the Ability to make the a Training Saber and wear the Padawan Robe. If you do NOT choose to become a Padawan your last box is trained and you loose the above 4 abilities / Items. If you decide to become a Padawan later you drop 4 - 4th level boxes and re-do the last 4 Quests.
Quest log is a MUST!
Also, possibly put the person on the Bouty Hunter terminals as they gain more visibility. The Emperor KNOWS you are gettign stronger with the force. He is now begining to hunt you down! (negate the 200K of Jedi XP loss though!)

i remember once when i was in my first few weeks of the game iwas running back from my friend's house near mos eisly back to the mos eisly starport, when i was running back a twilek NPC ran towards and me and said "quick take this disc, they after me, i dont have much time..." iwas given a set of options (ie. sure ill take the disc, and no keep it, whatever) seconds later after i answered her two stormtroopers show up and shot her in the back, killing her, they questioned me on whatshe said, after a bit they let me go
BTW-The above events actually happened, i still dotn know what the heck that disc was for, couldnt decode it or anything, just was a very cool random occurence, im sure it's happened to someone else, oh, and the village really needs to be instanced, it would really ruin the experience of being in a "lost village" type thing if theres 100 other players in there with you

Love the idea of the village of Aurilia and the quest journal. Anxious to find out how previously mastered professions will help one on the path, but love the new choice of force-sensitive disciplines.
