Respectfully,

Jedi will be no fun if all you do is fight.

But if you put in an entire system in which to stage those fights where decisions have to be made and plans have to be thought about on the fly then that changes everything.

It is unrealistic to think that there is a "happy" medium to be found by allowing the Jedi to interact within the normal confines of the game. It breaks continuity, leads to balance problems, and could and will cause ill will between players. This can all be mitigated in most circumstances and completely eliminated in some.

Also if you read my plan at the bottom of page 18 you will see that I do not propose Jedi vs Jedi only. I propose Jedi vs NPC, Jedi vs.Jedi, Jedi vs Bounty Hunter, and if they really want to (there should be built in deterents) Jedi vs whoever. And of course duels would still be allowed.

Aye Smee, I have to agree with you on saber damage. We have seen sabers used for everything form melting balst doors to slicing potatoes lol. Id like to see the dmg made non resistable except for BH armor and other Jedi robes. All others should take full dmg to it. Since we are going to be full overt and we are supposed to be the most powerful class in the game..Id like to actually see us with some advantages. So far everything seems class normal. Maybe I expect too much.

One thing I think that some people are going to be a tad upset with is that some who are holo grinding may not be "combat ready" for any kind of trial. This means they have to go and build the character back up, just so they can do the trials. No I know we dont have a clear picture on what exactly the trials will hold as missions or tasks, but I can bet it wont be limited to ..

"Hello <name>. One of our Jedis hasstubbed hitoeand needs to be escorted to the Jedi temple. Please take these bandages and heat cream to him and carry him back to the temple"

So get ready to remaster a profession all over again. Maybe it wont be so bad if you remember the faster ways to get xp.

Question to devs or anyone else that has accurate info for an answer:

As far as PvPbeing the only means for getting xp to advance in the Jedi Master tree. I am curious as to the xp loss that will be assumed for the loser. In any PvP situation, there has to be a looser and it seems that I recall a rumor about loosing an entire cell for dying in place of perma-death. If there is a DB due to a PvP ranking duel, is the same penalty in play or will there be a lesser impact for the death / incapp? If you are forcing players into a PvP role and the only means of xp is to duel, then you really have to choice but to PvP. For someone like my self who stinks at PvP right now, I expect to pulling my sabre out of my butt several times before I start to get good. At 1.6 million xp for the top cells, I really dont feel lilke busting my hump to fill the cell and then go to a PvP fight and lose it. Is there any information on this?

Thanks

Jedi Kehi

is there any chance that we can address the issue that there is only 1 small area of the galaxy where jedi can get xp 1nce they reach a certain level, it really concerns me what is going to happen after pub9 with the new PvP aspects, I run into 5/6 other jedi / day and as the day progresses and the number of spawns drops it becomes impossible to find anything to kill that will give decent xp

Yes it is a Quest system to get a Padawan after Publish 10 goes live, but not until.

You can earn up to 24 Force sensitive slots, from what I've read, and then qualify for Padawan trials.

Keep in mind that earning 24 Force sensitive slots will take longer than mastering 32 professions.

well ive been playing the game or a since launch and if that is the case then i might aswell cancel my account now, i mean does the devs know how to do anyhthing right. if u r correct then this system is going to be like a profession grind just that it will be with doing quest instead of mastering the professions. and if thats the case then i prefer the old system. because i could get it in 11 professions while this new system well take a fissure 32 profession time

the devil walks the earth and its name are the swg devs

The problem with Jedi is simple, in all actuality.

The Jedi in Star Wars, for the most part are pretty "uber", of that I don't argue. The problem lies within the game and the way it coddles, er handles, Jedi.

In the movies they are uber, but have a code they all follow. This stops them from being "12 year old griefers." In the game however, they've been given all the power you see in the movies...and none of the responsibility.

Prior to all the changes, there were ways implemented to keep them in check.Permadeath is a good one that comes to mind. TEF'd for pulling your saber out in the middle of a crowd (which in this timeperiod shouldbe a no-no.)

But the 12 year olds complained that this was unfair to them, even though since the beginning of the game the Developers have stated time and time again that being a Jedi would not be easy.

So the Developers in their ultimate act destroyed those "rules".

Now, there is no longer a real way to keep Jedi in check, or to guide them into behaving like the respectable Jedi of the movies.

Seriously Devs no offense...but I know (off the top of my head) no less than twenty of us here that could have implemented a Jedi system far superior to yours.

That is, after we fixed the priorities in this game first. You remember them, don't you? The combat balance, the Galactic Civil War (I'm still 200% certain the name of the game is an Empire Divided, not Jedi Gone Wild), Base exploiting, bugs since beta, lack of mobs, etc.

Please !

Kill all the jedis, they are anachronism. They are all supposed to be dead excepted a few !

I'm playing in a game which isn't respecting the universe that i like.

My life isn't depending of that game and it isn't so important, but I like to pay for the thing that has been sold to me !

Thanks for your understanding <== bang !!!!!
