Thread: Publish 7: Major Features
Why? Labor dispute? They run out of power packs for their blasters?
Oh, and use a bigger font next time!

I appreciate all your great feedback so far. Thunderheart is out on vacation which is why you are not seeing a lot of Dev responses on this thread in the last few days. I did want to take a little time to update you on what we have decided in regards to changes to removing the camp restriction for calling pets, droids, mounts and vehicles. We have decided to alter our changes so that calling a pet, mount, vehicle or droid will work like normal without the new time delays when called from a Scout camp or inside a city. Effectively, this means calling a pet, droid, mount or vehicle will work the same in Publish 7 as it currently does when called from a Scout camp or city. When calling outside a Scout camp or city, the new changes will apply.

I could kiss you for this post.
I won't, and I don't really want to, but I could!

...and then scouts will be useful in groups againThis will probably have little effect on ppl other than probably more ppl picking up nov scout as a nov scout can place a basic camp.
Yes, I think this will be very positive overall for the scout profession in spite of those who think that it is taking away.
Scout was easily the most dabbled profession in the game - meaning that many, many people had it but few people had even one full tree. Inherent functions, most notably harvesting, were devalued because most people had some sort of Scout and could just do it themselves.
People dabbled for two reasons : one, to move faster in-game (playing without Explo III outside of a city feels like slo-mo) since we had to run everywhere, and two, so we could call camps to call our pets.
Enter mounts/vehicles, and one of those reasons to dabble goes away - but the other remains. So many of us saved a few points by dropping explo, but were still dabbling in your profession so we could call our vehicles.
I honestly would have been happy if the camp restriction was only lifted for vehicles/mounts and not pets in general, but I assume that was an issue because mounts are also combat pets and am pleased with the change.
Less people dabbling in scout means less people can harvest, which means even more value to those that can in groups. Although undoubtedly some people will still dabble for this function, the amount of people who felt that it's absoultely necessary to get scout just to be able to drive vehicles will be reduced dramatically.
I would really like this to be a springboard for a revamp of the Scout profession - or at least some nifty additions. With less people dabbling the profession should be allowed to get more powerful - now that we have vehicles, a whole tree about moving faster (Explo) seems a little weak. It will be very interesting how this all works out in the end - I'm just pleased as punch that they actually listened to players and eliminated this archaic rule.

such as?....
Runesabre or TH, can you tell us anything about wookiee armor because you, TH, said or promised that wookiees would have armor or equivalent in patch 7....
So the Warcry wont be affecting targets already fighting? WHEN ELSE WOULD YOU USE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I've dealt with the changes to this point having been on since the launch, and have "rolled" with them, but this is out of hand. There is no mention whatsoever about balance for wookiees, ie lack of armor. As well, one racial bonus we had was that of +10 on Warcry, which is being made useless by the sounds of this patch. As a Wookiee from the start, I have tried to find ways of using my strengths to counter the fact that we have no natural resists or armour and warcry has seemed to work. This makes sense seeing that we were given it as a racial bonus. Plus the fact I have no idea what wookiee roar is all about cause it seems to be a gimped version of my intimidate 2 but on a timer. Yeah, that's real usefull.
TH, I'm not going to through a tantrum and am not about to leave the game. All I ask is to let me know if now is a good time to just scrap my character and start fresh. I guess I should just be a human so I can migrate all my stats into mind, get the best comp armor I can find and train in whatever the flavor of the month is, and forget about rp'ing my character all together.
Me too, I love the game and I wont be leaving anytime soon, but I have tried as well to work with the Wookiees only real strength the racial bonus to warcry . Having some *reasonable* success with a Master Wookiee Brawler andutilizing wookiee roar and warcry2is going away now
Why are you intent on doing this to Wookiees? No armor no clothes, a laughable bowcaste weapon that is good for decorating your house. Cmon this is getting ridiculous, give at least *ONE* reason to play the Wookiee without a freaking handicap!!!!!!
