STOP THE WHINING!



I spent two hours today doing rebel missions and got 9k faction pts. Don't whine to me that's too hard to get faction pts.


Spend some time on your combat skills, and stop whining that your AT-ST got killed cause you can't fight yourself.


Instead, I'm spending my 9k faction on a nice turret to protect my property. You wanna come destroy it? Go ahead. I'll spend two more hours and get 9k more faction, and half a million credits while I'm at it.



Play the game and stop whining on the forums. Part of the fun is surviving the changes, and the challenges.

What about the issue with AT-ST's inside biuldings I know there great for raids, but content wise this shoulden't work

Omigod this is a funny thread LOL the imperials are all going off like we actually have to work now....we cant just hide behind 3 virtually invincible machines and kill rebels , dark jedi's, kraytz.....bah this game sux I quit!! LOL!!!! Haha now you actually have to play the game!!!!!!!! hehe and to that guy that said he worked his butt off to get his Atst boo hoo!!....Working your butt off is accumulating 45,000 faction points (actually 60-70k if you count the required promotions) and with out a frigging Atst to help you ...now thats work.....im so glad SOE is making this long over due change it makes no sense for one imp with 3 atst's to waltz in to AH or up to a rebel base and kill 50 rebels effortlessly KUDO'S SOE!!! Keep up the good work!!!

Erm.. relax. It is just a game. I agree that AT-STs are too easy to destroy permanently (as opposed to knock out, which should be a do-able if unarmed Ewoks can do it). But "insulting and disgusted [sic]"?

Well, the Imps on your server must really suck. On Lowca, Josh and his Goons (that should annoy them ), together with BBFE, the Consortium and other organised guilds, are able to take on anyone on the server. And I speak as a rebel. They get their act together and (with the exception of a very poor raid a few days ago which went wrong and ended up with the last Imp /galloping off in to the sunset with a fishing rod as his weapon) tend to wipe the floor with the rebels through sheer tactical ability. It makes me wish I was an Imp. Faction perks would never do that.

I agree, that expecting them to survive solo in enemy city is silly and totally ridiculous. To those who say that it should be easy because bunch of Ewoks could do it. Go to Endor and walk solo to Ewok village and just see how long you will survive against them. The cuddly little buggers can fight 50 or 60 Ewoks will wipe even large party if they all come at them at same time.

Its not so one sided as you would believe. I have a master commando on the Eclipse server and a TKA on Farstar. Yes,I have been responsible for the destruction of players ATSTs, which is usually followed by a cacaphony of /tells cursing the bones of my ancestors, yadda yadda yadda.


But. The ATST (and by extension, its owner) has a range of 64 meters in which they can demolish anything that moves.


The commando on the other hand can only put his DoT on the ATST from 16 meters. Thats a long way in which you can spot the flamethrower wielding loony and keep him at arms reach - by just typing "a."


Its also worthwhile noting that the commando is theONLY character type that can take down an ATST (by design - commandos are supposed to be anti vehicle specialists) everyone else has to run like girls. Personally, I prefer to stand back and use a rocket launcher as its far more fun.


But a commado will still fall in one shot to an atst, they are not supermen. Your biggest advantage as an atst owner is range but if you use an ATST in an urban enviroment, then you can expect to have it damaged as you are losing your advantage. Even modern armies are loath to use heavy armoured vehicles in built up areas.


My take on this whole mess, lower FP costs for ATSTs, limit them to one per owner, make them repairable and devise a method of removing a flame dot....fire extinguisher perhaps? (extend this to players too).


You Imps though, have to realise that you cannot linger in uberness forever more and demand risk free use of this exceedingly powerful pet. You must accept that if you use military equipment in battle then it will take damage and perhaps be lost. And you must also realise that you have a MUCHbetter chance of killing a commando-the one player class which you must fear-than he has of killing your machine. IF you are bright enough to use it in the right circumstances.

For the rebels saying that an imperial can walk into AH with his 3 at-st and kill 50 rebels lol i wanna move to your server.. groups of 2 rebels can take an at-st out in 20 seconds if they know what there doing...


And to TH your nerfing the at-st now cause of the unbalance issues it brings into the game then u counter with a "The Empire has a big boost coming soon" what the funk??? lol so where gettin another advantage as an imperial i dont mind but if i think about it i can think like this it took me a long time to get my faction for my at-st and now there useless so u come back with a promise of sumthin new oh oh oh i want it i want it another great time sink lol and after we all faction up for this new "BOOST TO THE EMPIRE"u will nerf it and do somthin else lol.i think its cool to have new stuff to use but you dont have to make the old stuff useless in the process.


And btw give the rebels sumthin to actually have fun spending there faction on i want to be able to wipe a rebels hard earned faction out in 30 seconds lol.

I dont know what to think now. THe imps are suppose to have the advantage in military tecnolgy. The at-st is one of the most feared factional support u can own and now there going to be a expensive joke. Commandos take these down at alarming rate. Now i hear that u can only have 1 out at a time which is fine. However they are not a ch pet. Ch pets dont die, at'st do. This whole thing is ripped, now rebels role over our 9000 fp cost. Big rip off, very big. Ty Devs but now u will see a huge turn in how many stay imp. I didnt save 20k fp's to buy 2 purple heart boxes.

i play an imperial rodian, an at-st costs me 28500 fp, i have 1, but i only use it to get high lvl faction missions, it's the only thing it's good for, as soon as i get 2 missions i store it and go about my business.


with the proposed changes, my use of my at-st will not change.


i am also a colonel, the only reason i went for rank was to delegate fp to a human smuggler to buy me faction perks i.e. st armor, other than that rank is useless.


being able to only use 1 faction pet seems lame to me, seeing as i'm not a ch, would it be possible to make a faction clvl? arbitrarily put it at like 200, meaning you could have an at-st and maybe a trooper or two. i think that would make a great tie in with having a high rank as so many others have said before me.

all you lot are complaining about once again is.. ooh im gonna lose this and i worked soo hard to get my AT ST ,, well i can tell u this i worked a **edit** site harder for a **edit** site less to get my CH and y? cos BH ain't all that,
u complain u had to work hard but the missions are easy and well paid so by the time u can get an AT ST u'r a millionaire.. but i digress
the point behind this post is this
i have no objection to imp clans trying to get a little control over the krayt spawns but what i do object to is that it took me a very long time and a LOT of cash to get the skills,pets and resouces to actually go and hunt a krayt dragon,i get out there and start attacking one all is going well then... oh yes u guessed it! 2 spoilt children (i know this cos they admitted they were) with 3 AT ST come over shoot at my almost half dead krayt then continue to rape the nest ,, 6 krayts in all were out by now but the AT ST just mowed them down, wasting my day,time money and resouces,this is VERY sad and is also my only complaint about AT ST not the use of them but the fact that i can now not go krayt hunting because the massive imp city nearby just spews out hundreds of skilless AT ST using thieves. and there is nothing anyone can do about it, this also happens when holocron hunting and so far i have not managaed to loot any of my targets due to this rediculous fact that anyone can attack my target then take over the looting leaving me out of the loop, this really must be addressed. an idea would be that the first person/group that shoots at a creature, npc etc first are the ONLY people allowed to loot it this should reduce the amount of lame arsed moraless cowards who only go in to steal off others hard work.

And i agree that there should be more imperial weapons/machines etc (im a rebel) and that it should be harder for us but then at the same time u guys want all rebels to be running around with sticks and heavily out numbered while the imps run around with massive weapons powerups and vast numbers.all i can say to u lot is WATCH THE FILMS READ THE BOOKS. Yes the imps had bigger better droids etc but that didnt stop the rebels from stealing some and reprogramming them, we were not idiots in the film and we also had some good weapons, however in this game we dont, i mean Ewoks set traps to tkae out AT ST's with rope and logs and yet a fully skilled ranger (and master of traps) cant even trap gorg let alone trip an AT ST .Y THE :@:@ NOT?
r the charecters in this story all stupid? the ranger being a master trapper should be able to set rope traps to trip at st's

well im gonna stop there cos at the moment there are too many annoying things that are easy to fix but judging from what sony did to PS i presume this game will go the same way (catering to children claiming to be sick so they can stay home and play) ruining the game which when it came out just needed a few MINOR tweaks but at this rate of patching will be a pile of PS in no time at all.

DONT ruin this one sony by catering to the babies who feel life is unfair (mummy doesn't wipe my botty anymore types)
just add the little touches that will make what is already a great game better.

ITS SUPPOSED TO BE UNEVEN THATS WHAT OPPRESSION MEANS WHICH IS WHAT THE 'EMPIRE' DOES. (i presume most of u have learnt what an empire is by now)

Ok....Ok.I havesublimelyshed all remaining tact and reserve, and must finally interject a basic that i feel has been swept under the rug time and time again in favor of the shiny,neon sign totingAt-ST.


Ok first point: Reality...The AT-ST is, as its name implies(all terrain scout transport), a VEHICLE....requiring two highly skilled and trained pilots.(and dont give me that crap about even two ewoks and a wookie can drive it. That's fantasy) to operate its weapon systems and auxillary systems. If...and thats a mighty big if, everyone were in favor of reality we would not be here, writing on this post, about a "game" based on a movie...which despite my most deep desires and yearnings, is not in fact based on reality...


Second point: Canon: I can not recall right off hand, nor have i the desire to count now, the number of times i have heard the comment of ;"We try to make people who play this game feel like the scenes and events they experience could have been taken right out of the movies.", by not onlydevelopers, but marketing directors, customer service representatives, and players alike.


Therin lies the problem.The only thing we have to go on about the "accurateness" and "Starwarsiness"of the at-st are "ROTJ" and a collection of books and comics. So if you want to make the AT-ST more in line with the movies, it would be a fiersome foe indeed and heres a brief explanation. First it mounts laser turrets, heavy grenade launchers, and a concussion missile launcher....i swear on all that is holy ive never seenanything but its lasers used inthe "ROTJ" or this game...maybe the devs should give it a rocket launcher and a proton grenade launcher?" also the at-st is primarily an open cockpit "scout transport" meaning it wasnt designed to be a tank...regardless of what people misinterpret. Im currently in the military, and when someone mentions all terrain scout transport to me i think of "Hum-vee, or bradley fighting vehicle, not an m1-a1 Abrahms main battle tank. Go figure...The at-st isnt a tank, however the AT-AT is...and much more. So do what you will to theAT-ST...i as an imperial do not now have one at my beck and call, nor do i require one.


My last point is this...In a PvP showdown, Most "smart" players i know do not use npcs, strictly because they are distracting, cluttering, slow, and linear. This can be attributed to a self reliance motto i believe...and in this case i agree more with the majority of rebellion players. PvP is player on player, not rebels against my at-st while i sit behind it type "a" and things die and go boom...


Which makes me wonder also, on the other hand,why wouldanyone want to go to war with an army of at-sts anyways? impervious to laser fire? bah, chewie took one out with one swipe of his trigger thumb to the rear armor of an at-st, and dont forget Luke blew up an AT-AT with aC-22 anti-personell grenade for chrisakes...my point is this is a game, not the movies, lets not confuse thetwo, nor confuse the game with the "real World" physics limited world we liveand play in.


Im all for change, change is good. I just look at it as a new set of challenges for me to overcome when and if the at-st changes that much. I rely on my own strengths and the stregths of my fellow players to get the job done in PvP andPvE. Call me old fashioned, but at least imstill having fun, and thats the point right?

Hmmmm, only 1 pet, is that faction pet, or does it include mounts? Does it mean non CH can have only 1 pet in the data pad?
