Thread: AT-ST changes on Test Center
I tried an experiment to see jus how bad the situatin had gotten. We had a bounty hunter torso shot an ATST in a city then run away. He then came back later and did it over and over using buldings for cover. Since this was a frindly experiment between rebs and imps, the ATST was not destroyed. We then experimented with CH pets and found that the ATST will die from torso shots as fast as a Bile Drenched Quenker will go incap. This is just SAD. A friggin armored rat is as strong as the current ATST. So tis official ATSTs have one purpose left: raising the difficulty of your missions so you can go hunt Faama of find holocrons faster. Thats all folks. ![]()
BTW: I can't wait to get a new BE tweaked KIMO, or a level 70 BE Rancor. Thes thinks will beat the crap out of an ATST, and if they go down they don't die.
Sorry for the rudeness. I am just disgruntled. This is not intended as a flame.

Not all imperials are Humans! Not even close to it! I am a Rodian by choice because I'm a human in real life and it's boring, I want to be something different. I also want to be Imperial, so I get this HUGE penalty on buying faction perks. 9,450 is not even close what I pay for one, I pay 3x that which is 28,350! Think how bad I felt the day of the commando patch where they actually "fixed" flame throwers and I had both my expensive AT-STs die to a single commando flame cone. I died and couldn't store my AT's before the DOT took them both out. I learned the hard way and have bought another one since then and I'll tell you I will NEVER use it for PVP!
Anyway... I would love to see how angry TH gets after he grinds 56,700 FPs to buy 2 AT-STs, then takes them PVP'ing.
And no, I've never bought a single FP, I grind all mine by myself and actually sell them.
This is one of the main drawbacks of playing Imperial, which is why I thought we had some perks, like working ours asses off and actully having a valuable asset like the ATST. With the severe nerfing of faction pets and especially the ATST, where is our compensation for this large drawback? Rebels can play any race they want with no drawbacks. I think I will make an alternate character on a different server a rebeland see how it is, if its better receiving the Dev's preferential treatmentas opposed to continuous nerfing maybe thats where I will stay...I recommend every Imperial player make a Rebel character, if only to show on the statistics that maybe Imperials are not particularly happy.
I agree with you on the preferential treatment. This is not Star Wars Galaxies anymore. Its **edit** Wars, "The Way the Rebels Want It.
They outnumber us, they can slap storm troopers in the face, there is no noticeble effect of the "total police state" the empire enforces, I've never seen an AT-AT, Darth Vader sits on his butt all day (ok so do Han, Chewie, Luke etc), there is NO mood of oppression in any aspect of the game except for flavor text on missions.
Sometime I wondre what the rebels are fighting for in this game. There are no trade restrictions (you can put powerful military drugs forsale on ebay/the bazzar). I see more player opperssion in player cities (the militia). Why aren't storm troopers citywarning players in Bestine. I see more oppression in the US government than in this game.
This is probably going to be viewed as passionate non objective flaming, so amybe I sholdn't even bother. I'm sorry in advance for offending all those that read this.
LOL these devs just crack me up. Hey Guys just jump on the test server and grind 40 hours of missions so you can buy a ATST that cant be used in pve and dies in 1 min or less in pvp BAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH. --Thunderheart man, Do you even play the game? How about you grind out the 40 hours it takes to earn a atst and then use it in pvp with a commando or 2. No you cant use your dev cheat of adding fp to your pool. EARN the fp then LOSE the AT and then come back and tell us what you learned.
With some very basic macros, a lot of patience and maybe a gameboy at hand for those long sessions of sampling the highest concentration garbage resource available, Master Artisan isn't so difficult.
If you actually intend to *play* artisan, not just grind it, that's a whole different story. It's long, it's boring, your products are, aside from the powerups and when you finally have acces to vehicles, worthless and just suck your money dry while you play up to that point.
As for the AT-ST, well... I wouldn't say it's entirely unfair to make them mortal, but this latest nerf is a bit much. And you Imperials who are whining that your non-combat can't do high level destroy missions without his beloved robo-gods, go find yourself a strategy.
Thanks Thunderheart for finally responding. Im sure everyone appreciates it. But you still have not answered all of our questions, specifically the ones about faction rank and its affiliation with factiontroops or why is it that creature handler has anything to do with faction troops.
THUNDERHEART,
You respond to a question about how your crafting character is coming along in this thread and yet dont reply to others about what the thread is about? LOL .... Simply cannot believe this.
I think you missed the point. I don't know how those imps got 9k faction points so quickly. Frankly, I don't really care how they did it. I legitimately earned my faction points and it took a long time. So I don't haphazardly throw my AT-ST's around. Especially when all it takes is one commando flame dot and they are at half wounds or worse. I will grant you, yes they do a lot of damage. Yes all someone has to do is hit A and someone dies for the most part. But all that commando has to do is hit his flame dot once and our time goes down the drain, even if he dies immediately after... the DoT is there.
Furthermore, in your particular example you gave something that is not the norm. A server startup. Great, so one exploiting imperial on a new server startup is the basis for your entire claim. You didn't have any commandos yet. Well let me tell you, there are plenty everywhere else. I applaud your group for coming up with a way to kill the exploiting Imp owner. Good for you. However in a situation where the rebels outnumber the Imps, which is oh... every server, there are plenty of commandos to go around. Especially since they are so god awfully powerful and especially so for rebels who like to shoot down two weeks worth of work for some imperial stupid enough to bring his AT-ST out in combat.
That is why I dont' take them out in PvP. It's an excercise in futility. If I want to waste time, I will go to a city and stand around at the starport making small talk. Granted it would take two weeks worth of standing around to equal the time it took me to get that AT-ST. But hey, that's ok right, cause your a rebel and you outnumber us and you always get your way.
If you had read the rest of the posts, you would realize that many of us have made many other valid suggsetions. I have been following this thread for a while. There are a lot of valid suggestions presented here, including by other rebels, that would fix both the problems you are reffering too and the problems we are reffering too. But it would appear now that we are instead going to be waiting after this upcoming patch for a few more patches before we even have an idea of how they are going to balance this out. So much for hope...
Long Live the Imperial Resistance!
HeyThunderheart why not have certain areas, like the Krayt Graveyard for example, have an area effect radius around it where no faction pets can be called or used there. If brought in to the radius they would auto store. Sorta the reverse of a city radius. They already have something like this in effect for the battlefields, CH's cant use thier pets in them, or call them there.
Recode that and put around the static spawn sites.
I cant understand why stormtroopers or rebel troopers would just stand by and watch thier commander by slaughtered by creatures or say....pirates and never fire a single shot to defend them.
Maybe thats why the Empire lost at Endor, the Ewoks werent rebels ![]()
I was going to respond to a couple at once, again, but I just want to know, if people are so worried about the Krayt problems why don't you kill the Imps doing it?
If I sat here and whined about the fact that you rebs basically are ALL CH in some form you'd just laugh at me. (Even though it appears to be true)
I agree with one rebel that told you to balls up. You whining little cry babies should quit the game instead of ruining it for people that play by the rules. Instead of ballsing up and killing the Imps, you cry to the devs. Does this help Star Wars? I say no.
Cafa Asia
I am NOT a wookie!
I just have to say something here. I have not yetboughtan AT-ST (and as it stands now, will propably never want one either). Few points about AT-ST:
- The AT-ST is a vehicle
- As a vehicle it should be repairable. Give it vitality andallow it's HAM to be repaired in the garages. No matter if it costs 100 000 credis to fix, it must be possible. When the vitality goes to 0 the vehicle is totaled and can not be repaired anymore. Some damages like blasts could drop vitality faster than others (ie. if most of the damage is done with blasts the vitality drops by 10, otherwise by 1)
- The AT-ST is airtight, meaning it should be totally impervious to all gases, poisons and other toxins. Also as it is designed to be used in different hostile situations / worlds it should be also totally impervious to flames. Flamethrowers are anti-infantry weapon and has never been intended to be used against armored vehicles, so why should flames be so deadly to laser impervious metal?
What really is needed that the AT-ST is brought back to be fearsome weapon it should be. Nowdays it is joke to the rebels, who laugh on how many AT-STs they have wiped out in any given week. The change that only one AT-ST per imperial is good, I agree it was ridiculous to see anyone using three, when the empire only gives one per HQ. But as there only will be one per imperial, and as many are yelling for more opression and fear from empire, it would be good to once again make them a weapon that it was meant to be.
Give imperials something to oppress and cause fear with. No single person should be able to stand and win against a tank (and that what AT-ST is in Star Wars). Only with team effort and united work should they be brought down.
have you guys ever watched return of the jedi?
do you remember how the defenceless ewoks took out atst after atst?
they arnt some massive all encompasing beast that is top of the food chain, they are just an uber soldier
it makes sence that a commando- a person who is top of the line combat veteran should be able to take out an atst with ease, especially when small groups of short furry creatures can take them out
if you use your atst strategically instead of using him to do all your fighting for you then you will see the fun of playing a nice atst will be
use your character not your faction pet, sheesh if he has a commando use a tk artist against him, and use the atst to bombard him while the tk keeps him occupied....and thats only one suggestion
also if you complain about imp compared to reb number you should look at this, imps have a bad reputation because of jerks thatplay imps and give you guys bad names, i know most of you are cool guys and all but imps have a bad rep, you also shoudl realize that the recruiters are not always NPC you guys can recruit too
just my 2 cents
