I normally dont say anything i tend to just roll with the punches but my goodness what else do we have to do.
I unlocked between 9-10 and have been waiting yesterday and today for the old man to pay me a visit. I do not
have a problem doing the entrance and exit quests to become padawan.
Here is where my problem comes into play. I understand the gating of the old man visit but what i dont understand
is how can someone who is glowing without unlocking between 9-10 gets invited ahead of all of us that have unlocked.
I am really trying not to flame here but after being online for 7 hrs yesterday and well on my way to being here for
another 7 hrs today what do i need to do. Is there something I am not doing right?
Someone in another thread stated that if they just let us post 9 unlockers just get thru the village then alot of the traffic concerns would be eliminated and thus no need for the gating or little if any needed. I tend to agree with that but how many post 9 unlocks can there be 200 on eclipse at the most??? Anyway I am just babbling on now thx for your time. Back to doing nothing.

I unlocked post pub 9 with 29 professions.
Logged in for publish 10 and /che reports inner glow.
It took me about a day and a half for the old man to visit.
After he visited I just carried on as usual (mostly shopping) until the server finally went down early.

K guys you know I am not one to post a lot because I dont see myself as one who has an audience that wants to hear,but it has come to my attention that something a little scary has been shifted in with this patch.
Rem the good ol days when you could create your jedi play around get vis etc then go ok time to be serious....and RECREATE your jedi?
Guess what I have a jedi that I have wanted to recreate since pub 9.....i tried recreating during it but guess what?...."cant create untill patch 10"
Now today I send in a trouble ticket wondering how I go about xp and such in the new system with my jedi.......HERE IT GOES......IN THE NEW SYSTEM YOU CANT I REPEAT CAN NOT REMAKE YOUR JEDI......YOU MUST START FROM SCRATCH WHETHER YOU UNLOCKED AS THE FIRST JEDI OR JUST GOT IT THAT IS YOUR PERM JEDI

Sorry to disagree with you, Mandrim, but the worse mistake SOE ever made was the holocrons. They did more damage than all the bugs and nerfs put together. They damaged the community, put an entire line of professions, the entertainers, out of work, ruined things for the serious crafters as hologrinders flooded the market with cheap crap to use up their resources and make a buck for their next grind, etc. I could go on for hours. This was a needed change, but when it was needed was a year ago.

i visited the old man...
i happened to be heading home with my alt, to the house where my main was logged and i ran over an old man with my swoop. i immediately burst ran from my hovel (about 400m north) to where the old man was... i walked up and talked to him.
but i dont have over 25 professions, and i know people with over 30 still waiting...
did i hijack someone's grandpa?!
lol either way it happened right before the spontaneous shutdown so it seems it was of no consequence... my question is though, can you 'jack' someone's old man? intercept him en route to speaking to someone else (wouldnt work if you werent already glowy of coursE, but if you were, could you old-man snipe?
and i too continued to shop

wow. a lot of hostility in here. i think i've figured it out. SOE hates us all and wants us all to quit playing the game so they purposly sabatoge anything that we want. they nerf things to piss us off, they add things to piss us off and they remove things to piss us off. they are OUT to GET us and wont stop till we all quit playing their game.
ok, now for a REALITY CHECK. This 'game' (yes, it's a game people) is a VERY complex set of programs put together to create something that is, in my opinion, a wonderful program. With any wonderful, complex program, you will ALWAYS have problems. I've been writing programs and building games for the past 17 years and rarely do i make a deadline with 0 bugs, 0 problems and 0 things i or my client wants changed. this is real life, not some fantasy world where with the right resources the product always ends up the same.
you people act like your life is based on this game, and that really is sad. you people act like SOE is purposly keeping you in the dark. I've had contracts in the 6 digits that i didn't fully complete enough to release until a few hours before it was due. now what would make more sense from my point of view? risk loosing a contract or future contracts and ensight panic and FLAMES by saying it MIGHT not be done or just work my ass off and hope i can make the deadline? if you said anything but the latter, then you're either too immature or too illiterate to step into reality for a moment.
SOE doesn't want us to quit playing the game, therefor DOES care about our opinions, however if you just jump on a forumn and bash them for not sending you out a personal message because they're rolling out a new system, then you're not going to get the respect or response you may want or think you deserve. you can't just release a MAJOR change in the way the game is played and throw everyone into it all at once. #1 you'd have MAJOR lag as everyone would run to the village to do the missions. #2 you dont' want everyone to start in on it in case something goes wrong that needs to be fixed right away. how would you feel if you were allowed the old man right away but you couldn't do anything because the lag is so horid you can't move or because it crashes due to a bunch of stupid things no one thought would affect the game?
you people need to chill out and stop being such masochists. play the game and have fun. if you're so damn upset about a VIDEO GAME, then maybe you need to stop playing it and go to WalMart to get a life.

Here is a tip for those who have got the old man but not the sith: Go have funplaying as usual, go shopping, go hunting, go do something and dont stand around waiting, get a group and go make somemoney and alot of xp.

Hopefully the DEV's are reading this thread
I have now had3 visits from the sith outlaws and3 timesI have looted them but I only got the "you completed your task " and the ability to read to data disk at the 3rd attempt, the other 2 times when I tried to read the disk it said "you must loot this item before you can read it"

well...i only mastered4 proffs...and as an Anti-grinder,none are Holo proffs... i have just 12 badges ... and i got a "Surge of the force"....
so... should i bother gettin my hopes high ?!
if i get the "inner glow"... will it be enough to get the visit ?! or would i have to wait for all the ex-Hologrinders to do it first...???????

Everyone should relax. If you qualify for a visit, you'll get one soon.. I got my visit last night(pre10 unlock) and it went off without a hitch. I have to admit, it was cool and I almost fell out of my chair even knowing it could happen.. lol Anyhow, now to wait for the Sith to arrive and get owned
