unkown, if there is any way you can seriously do it!

I mean if you can come up with a system, really cool (not boring), branched (not stright line), and different to most of us (not the same line for all) then do it mysterious. If not, let it be, ´cause we will be able to read the new mysterious path within hours on the internet.

I am glad I am not a Dev at this point in time.
No matter what you choose it will annoy 50% of the people.

We would all like an individual fantastic way to become Jedi but im guessing it would be imposible to code, do not make it unknown please.

And please please please reward the holo grinders.

It should be mysterious and random.

Maybe have a rare random event where you discover an item somehow imbued with the Force thru a profession skill such as surveying, harvesting from a creature, etc, or just randomly while you travel.

This item would spark "visions" at various times. Havesmallinvisible planetarea that activate a vision, then despawn and spawn somewhere else after a period of time. Also make visions appear at random times and after different actions. After so many visions, you realizeyou'reForce sensitive. But make many different vision sets, thattell a story about (or are told by)a previous Jedi that has gone back to the Force, who in the end informs you of your link to the Force.

For both parts of becoming Force Sensative and for moving on to beinga Jedi I believe they should be done solo. This should not be a case of mass slaughter of beast X or clear out dungeon Y. To discover yourself you wouldn't get twenty mates around to help you.

Why not use instanced dungeons/buildings. That way would it not be possible for the quests to be driven/tailored to the skills of the individual? That way a crafter would get a different flavour of quest than say a combat based character.

If you want mystery then the quests tailored to a story based on the characters build would add an element of randomness. I have no desire to have a huge time sink like the holocrons, however if you give me a story and series of quests I can work my way through over a period of months I will be very happy.

All that being said if its not a solo experience I think as a person who comes on at weird and wonderful times I am going to miss out on the experience.

Well somehow "misterious" sounds and looks better on paper..

But really..

If noone knows how, it's just going to **edit**ing piss people off, and make the rich richer (ie people that are already jedi's)

I believe the path to force sensitivity should be known. And shouldnt be a kill fest. This was thepath that it was before and completely left out the non combat professions. I know folks that were just crafters and happy being just crafters. But, they got frustrated and quit when the word got out about hologrinding and Crystal Cave camping. If the path from Force sensitive to jedi is going to be a long journey of ordeals and quests, that should be enough. Let folks get thier foot in the door with Force Sensitive. Then make them jump thru hell and back on the journy to jedi.

Some say this will lead to too many jedi. Well, an MMO has to give up some continuity. It cant be just like the movie. Everyone wants to be a star and not part of the sea of extras. Give everyone the chance. Alot of folks will discover that it isnt thier cup of tea, drop it and move on to other professions.

What this guy said!

If they are waiting this late to ask usthis question, it's simply, "Do you want to know how to get started on the quests?" or "Where to find the start of the quest?". They are notasking "Design" and "Concept" questions. A lot of good ideas being floated - it's a shame someone didn't have the foresight to ask us questions earlier.

Please make the way known. If I read correctly, you wanted to open the FS Slot when becoming FS with the main char. Many players just don't want to become a Jedi but would like to have a 2nd Char. So, why making it mysterious then? Just because existing Jedi would be angry because of not being unique anymore (which they aren't anymore since some months)?

Well, I know this is a Poll and not an idea-thread... but....

What do you think about this Idea?

To enhance in the Padawan-Skilltree, an Padawan needs to assist Players in their Quest for becoming Force Sensitive. The Padawan can help him, in a 5 to 10 minutes-task, to find the next step in his quest, the next NPS he must go to for example.

This should work like App Exp.

After becoming a Jedi, you have to assist Padawans to enhance in Level.

Give up with the entire mysterious jedi thing. That was REALLY interesting at the begining of the game...when there would be "a handfull of jedi" on the servers. When people wouldnt know how to do it and it would be different for each person. Oh...but then we found out the amazing system you have made was simply master X classes. So now there are a couple HUNDRED jedi on each server....they arent rare...chefs are more rare then jedi are.

So i say give up on the entire "unlock" thing. Just let everyone who wants to be one be one....make it like another prof that just takes CRAZY amounts of exp to level. Those who want to do it can...those who dont ...dont.

Instead work on fixing the rest of the game and put in "end game" classes for everyone else. Make elite elite classes that take the same amount of work a jedi does...make those elite elite classes able to go against a jedi. We are talking Jango Fett level bounty hunter class....Han Solo level smuggler....you get the idea.

The prof in the game right now are a joke...any one can be mastered by a player in about a week if they work at it. (some just take a day or 2 of grinding).

Have the classes we have now as just the start of our character....after we have our "template" and base skills...let it open up another world of skills and trees to go down to fine tune our character. Different things we can focus on...so an elite fencer wouldnt be the same as all the other elite fencers (one master fencer now is the same as the next).

Oh...also might not hurt to put in CONTENT in the game. Things that people can keep going back to and pass the time and bring them into the star wars world. Things that are fun ((not killing some lairs ....)) . Arena fighting....pazaak....holo chess.... there are an endless list of things that could be put into the game that would be fun and rewarding to do.

heh but im not holding my breath you guys will go that far....maybe in 2 or 3 years when the classes are balanced.../sigh

I believe ALL players should be born with a bit of FS from the start of character creation. There should be a NPC trainer and quest giver which helps shape and develope ones FS, to a point. Then thats where player interaction takes over. For lightside and darkside jedi, one must learn under a players tutorship, to another point. Then the system of PVP for darkside jedi and voting for lightside jedi should take over.
