Sounds like my character will be rendered useless and I will have to go bh to pvp anymore. My character was designed to be a pure fighter now he will be a pure weakling. I was a master rifleman, master ch then became a master riflman, tkm, fencer. Now that my second template is getting pretty muched wasted ill have to go be a bh or master ch again. What a load of crap. /cancel account

When, exactly when and how will Faction Bases be fixed, as of now 3 players can get in and destroy the bases with out firing a single shot, and no risk to them selves. Which means bases are garbage right now, and so are any fixs that have been done on them so far.

Adding my own attaboys: Best. Publish. Evar.

These updates make sense and update more chunks of the game to something I'll actually enjoy playing for reasons other than my PA and close friends. Thank you!

TH:

At what point or the Devs going to address DPS (damage per second) and attempt to level the playing field. I have a Master Pistoleer and he is useless in PvP. First everyone mitigates 75% of my max damage, second, everyone has armor the eliminates 90% of most damage and up to 39% of stun damage, and thirdly we are not very accurate. Rifleman shoot as fast as we do, hit mind bar, and do enormous damage in relation to Pistoleers. Even with a left over pre patch FWG5 and powered up to well over 400, my best last ditch shot last night PvP was about 500 with FWG. Net result, virtually no damage. PvP needs an overhaul so that dabblers dont rule and forgotten classes can compete. Even worse, I pitty BH's in current PvP. Even with eye shot they dont stand a chance as they have no defenses to speak of.

My 2 cents...

1. We are getting more player city buildings.... but how about a way to pave some streets or build some walls?? Player cities should be allowed to plant SINGLE trees and shrubs to make for a different environment. How about creating their own ponds, streams or control the land levels (to a certain degree) like adding hills and what not. They won't be true player cities unless we are allowed to customize them more.

2. Vehicles and pets not generating for 30 sec... bad idea. Thats just how long an overt player has after he loads to get out of where he is before he is seen as overt. We need the ability to load, run out of the starport, call a vehicle and get out of there.

3. House colors.... walls... roof... nuff said. Enough of this suburbia america cookie cutter stuff. Maybe even choose type of roof or type of material house is mase out of (brick, stone, vinyl siding? lol)

4. Everyone's buying speeders.... think mounted pet armor/weapons.

5. Flags. Every Guild should be allowed to create a flag either thru a submitted image or thru some kind of creation program in game. Then allow the flag to be waved infront ofa guild hall or even have a flag bearer during PvP fights.

Thats all my thoughts for now

Junk Dealer Revamp: Continuing the loot system changes will include the rebirth of the Junk Dealer. As part of this change, Junk Dealers will have more robust conversations, be willing to buy all different types of NPC loot drops and become a new source of income for players. Player will now be able to go adventuring, collect the various loot drops from NPC’s, adventures and dungeons and take it to a Junk Dealer to sell. Junk Dealers won’t buy just any junk either. Different dealers will specialize in different kinds of junk, so players will have to explore and find out which dealer deals in which kind of junk. Be sure to talk to the various Junk Dealers to find out which junk they like the most!

Ah, why stop there, let us sell the crap CDEF's and low level junk to these NPCs. i got loads of shadowpaw i made while grinding my way up the spice tree. let me sell it an unclog your database!

Vertical Item Movement: Another big player request brings the ability to move furniture and household items up and down. Players in all houses can now move items up and down by either using the Radial Menu or the following commands:

* /moveFurniture UP (1-50)

* /moveFurniture DOWN (1-50)

Players will be able to move items vertically in Player Houses, Merchant Tents, Player Association Guild Halls and all player city structures.

Time to work on my decorating again! this is long over due! But THANKS!

Lighting Objects: Players will now have many craftable light sources in the game that will have the true functionality of a light source. All of the current lamps styles in the game crafted from here on out will now have glow of light. Additionally, many new lamp styles have been added to the game and now players can also have candles. Players will be able to purchase architect crafted candles for players that will flicker and glow for about 2 weeks and then burn away. Lamps will also decay, but at a reduced rate.

Great can we get an on / off switch too? or a dimmer switch. i want mood lighting in my dining room, if you catch my drift... (nudge, nudge, wink, wink... )

Camp Restrictions Removed: After Publish 7, players will no longer be required to be in camps to pull out Vehicles, Mounts, Droids or Pets and can pull them out wherever they are, eliminating the player inconveniences of having to find rural areas far from cities, lairs and other no-build zones in order to build a camp. The basic rules of calling Vehicles, Mounts, Droids or Pets are:

· A player will not be able to call a vehicle/mount/pet/droid during combat or 60 seconds after combat is concluded.

· There is a 30 second delay after you call for a vehicle/mount/pet/droid before it will generate.

· A player will not be able to call a mount/pet/droid while mounted or on a vehicle.

· A player will not be able to call a vehicle while mounted or on a vehicle.

Again long over due! But well worth the wait. I wont have to keep my scout skills so i can use camps! Woo Hoo!

New Mounts: Players have two new mounts available to them with Publish 7; Banthas and Cu-Pa’s!

Aw... I got rid of my Cu-Pa along time ago...

So much for a Smuggler revamp, maybe they should just rename us, it would take less time and be easy to do.
"Useless" would be my first choice as a name suggestion.

of course at this point there is no reason to revamp anything. SOE should just shut the game off.

Well personally I'm not happy with several of the changes, and of course the only way I can speak out against them is to quit, which I have canceled my account, effective March 9th.

It's already hard enough to compete with the "eploitational" crafters you allowed to fly to master (insert craft here), when the game first came out. Now, you want to nerf the "casual" player even more and thus make his crafting no longer as good or on an even keel with these exploited crafters that already have a firm andstrong foothold on the economy? If anything you should have made it eaiser for the casual crafter to compete with the crafters who exploited their way to the top within a matter of weeks during the initial release of this game.

2ndly, you are giving MELEE another bonus to combat? The TKA/TKM is already over-powered and has an unfair advantage in many ways over the other players. Once they get a KD in, it's all over in pvp. They surely don't need another BONUS to combat.

And lastly, nerfing the combined defense by template is wrong, so wrong, when I myself and I'm sure many others put quality time and effort to achieve such a defense within the game. You have now incapacitated and destroyed what I have (as a casual player) built up over time, put a lot of work and effort into and now you have cut it in half or more. It was my greatest advantage when playing pvp vs melee.

Sadly you aren't going to increase your population of this game, it's only going to decrease even more. Another reason I am leaving is this constant "daily" ritual of server resetting that I cannot play for up to two hours during my prime time play time. I pay $15 a month to play, you are cutting my time down 60 hours a month, yeah that adds up, You should have those resets at various times, not just one specific time every day. It's just something else that is cutting your population down.

When I came back, my old server population was so low, there was hardly anyone to group with or even sell items to anymore. When I left I had a thriving business of selling resouces and a few food and drink items, clearing nearly 100k a day, now I'm lucky to clear 10k a day. That's pretty sad when the population is so low and the market is so saturated with items now, with few people to buy them. I found players cities, deserted, burning even, how sad. I found player vendor after vendor, completely empty of goods. In fact it took me a WEEK to find ONE player that still made factories. That's very sad.

Oh well I'm sure one player quitting the game doesn't bother you and you are making these changes for the three servers you have left that still do have a thriving population. Sad this game is nowhere near the likes of Everquest with near 500,000 subscibers and plenty of people to group with, trade with and generally have a large community with. This is the toddlers toy of mmorpg's. I just hope you don't ruin EQ2 like you have SWG's.

Anyone notice that when the questions start coming in about why they are adding pointless stuff like furniture movement but not helping wookies, fixing broken profs, etc, that the devs disappear never to be seen again until after the patch has gone live? I'm afraid all the good suggestions in this thread are falling upon deaf ears.

I guarantee that the other 85% of people who don't generally PvP are loving the other changes. It's not all about you, pal.

What? I didn't say anything about PvP. I asked why the devs don't respond to valid questions asked of them and instead disappear and just let changes that are totally unneeded or unneccesary go through to live. I think you need your eyes check, pal.

Also, the last time I checked this game started out with the title Star Wars, which implies some sort of combat. Fixing broken combat items should be the number one priority in a game with "war" in the title. It's not called "Furniture Movement and Interior Decorations with Christopher Lowell." The combat portion of a primarily combat oriented game is broken, and it needs to be addressed first and foremost. The placement of furniture is secondary to most people in this game except the interior decorators.

This is STAR WARS as in SCI-FI. We are continually making money having creatures be tanks. This type of civilized society should have moved away from this a long time ago. Otherwise we may as well have elephants doing our dishes like the Flintstones. However, I also understand attachments to pets as well, but I believe Droids ought to have a higher handle level than pets. Like the equivelent of CH11 maybe. I believe that in reality we would make driods to be better than animals since we have the animal capabilities to judge them against. Additionally, It takes far many more resources to make a driod than to train a pet. Why should DEs have to work harder for an equal product? There needs to be at least a small advantage of droids over pets to simulate the technological achievement of driods. Not a large one, but maybe an increase in hit% or defense. Just for balance. Or you could make droids as easy to create as pets. Bottom line is, it isn't a fair amount of destruction for the comparitive cost of creating a pet (including a bio-pet) vs. a driod.

First off...

30 Seconds???

LOL....yawn......ok so now it will take a very long time to call something

I dont suppose any developer actually has tried that amount of time yet...or else they would decrease that time a bit.

Also I wanted to add, that the planned publish sounds pretty good.

The Critical Failure thing getting fixed sounds great.....Now if only a Level Box where displayed in the Crafting assembly area for Bio-Engineers so that we could actually be able to make things with out having to guess.

But then thats ok...since I kind of stopped playing alot, becasue of that self same random craft stupidity that was added.

But anywise...the overall plans sound great.

I do have one suggestion for a later publish....maybe this is too radical...but how about Robotic Mounts like Robot horses and things.

I like Droids and all, but I think that they should be able to be used as a mountif the chassis is of a certain type.

Yeah I know this makes Droids more versatile but...hey!!.....thats what they are for.
