something needs to change and because change is never accepted well even if its for the better of the game the devs are just giving in to a bunch of whiners.

What a load of crap. People didn't like the change because it didn't do anything about the problem it was supposed to fix, rather it made the problem worse.

The rich and powerful that have access to 30 lots andtens of millions of credits to buy expensive skill tapes will still excel. Everyone else will still suck.

Hi JustG -

Thanks for the good news. Perhaps you can start an In-Concept thread so we can propose alternate crafting changes that the community would prefer.

Thanks,

Isildur

Whiners win again.

Everyone knows that swg was released before it was ready and that there are countless number of unbalanced things about the game. Yet people still want to stick with the old bugged status quo system. Let the devs do their job and do large changes. I for one am sick of playing a bugged game, why do you people need to keep on impeding change?

This suggestion may get me flayed, it may not be possible, but how about delaying the rolback hotfix until Friday? Maybe even Monday?

Give crafters a chance to play around with the system for a bit more time with their live resources to do a fair comparison. Make it clear that it is just temporary: this should be highlighted, bolded, and flashing on the client login screen, maybe even an in-game email to every character with a crafting profession. It's hard to do an apples-to-apples comparison between live and test when the resource quality varies so much. I'm going to spend tonight making up items and recording the resources used and experimentation successes. I'll spend tomorrow (provided there's no last-minute delay on the publish) doing the same thing. Between food, artisan itemsand armor (the holocron has me chasing armorsmith, currently at 3103) I'm hoping to see for myself how big an effect the new system has when using various resource qualities.

IMO, the idea of resource quality affecting experimentation is a good one. There just hasn't been an implementation of it that works when crafting items with multiple experimentation lines.

JustG,

I was ready toquit crafting. This revert in crafting experimentation will keep me chugging a little longer. Thankyou.

As always, you kickass.

I would have like more than a day to see the difference but we must all bow to the wish of the 'majority' even tho there are untold crafters who dont bother posting to the forums.

Wonderful. Makes me very happy as a potential future weaponsmith.

I still am very, very curious to hear what your designers answers would have been to many of the questions posed. Not because I want to continue a fight, but I'm truely curious as to the types of arguments that were made internally. Specifically things like the estimated length of the "pre-nerf" market for both consumables like meds and not-as-consumables like weapons. also curious about some of the more specific cases of low stat named resources being hit hard by this change, old tweaking of the "ranges" and wondering if maybe there are a few cases where there are bugs hiding in the whole process.

But I realize you all have loads on your plate so I'd more then understand the discussion more or less ending with this announcement.

This is an opportunity for you all to play with the changes for a day, so in case we ever want to go down this road again, you will better understand what it is we want to do.

Thanks for the professional responses to this issue.

Best,

I just read your post again. And I am afraid you will try to put in this nerf again in a couple of months. You did this once before. Please let your Customerservice give you the counts of cancelled accounts just after each of these announcements, then think again, how often you can play this game with us again.

I am sure some of the cancelled accounts you will never see again, even if you retract the nerf.

At least: Make a customer survey, before you start this nerf again.

sometimes i find going back is a good idea but i think this one is bad.

The modifications are great but since noone really tested em (and on purpose, on TC you dont have a great range of ressources) i'm still glad you let us a day (how about a week ???) to test the changes in real.
