Thread: Publish 10 Feedback: GUI Enhancements
2) the material average sorting is useful but i'm not seeing it on all my materials, if i open my aluminum storage i see one set of materials with averages on it but the others lack the number, so i'd say its broken (edit the number took a long time to come up and later i saw all the averages) so very useful for us crafters.
3) xp updating did well but its a bit early for that since it was an intermitent problem to begin with.
4) consider radar is fun, not valid given combat potential does not factor stats/armor, still its a tad bit usefull. i hope that turning it off keeps the extra data from being transmitted for the sake fo those low/fragile bandwidth people.
5) did you really want this mutiny, i have 4 friends quitting and most of my guild p*ssed off. you'd have been better off with a overcrowded village and crashing servers than directly alienating these people. from the sounds of it your gonna damage EQ2's sales with this (not related to the GUI changes mind you) i appreciate the continuos process improvement for gui and stability

- What do you think of the new GUI features?
- Camera Shake Toggle
- Crafting Inventory option
- Con(sider) circles on radar
- Is your XP updating
1. Camera Shake Toggle: More options are great. Camera shake, while a little annoying, can in no way be considered game-breaking. See point #5.
2. Crafting inventory options: Very happy to have this in place. Do these settings remain in place after a logout? How about if you switch characters? Is it possible to have one character set to monitor only OQ, and the other character set to average OQ/PE/Flavor, without having to re-set these average values after every login? Given the non-persistant settings in a lot of other Options areas, I'm a little wary of the answer... Not game-breaking without it.
3. Con(sider) circles on radar: Very helpful, also not game-breaking without it.
4. Is your XP updating: Don't know, don't care personally at this point. I've reached the proverbial "end game" with both of my current characters, and won't be doing any further grinding of a sort that needs experience tracking. I'm quite sure this cuts down on the annoyance of people that ARE still grinding something, so.. kudos on this fix. Still not game-breaking.
5. The rest of the un-announced changes: What's up with the font/color change on people's names? Was this another European stealth font-fix? Why aren't you telling us about these? This one IS game-breaking. Especially to the color-blind, which apparently I'm slowly becoming. Yeah, you can see the like-faction purple names when they're up against a dark background, but believe me, they all but disappear when viewed on the streets of Theed. I don't even want to know what it looks like on Tatooine or Lok... or Dantooine which is already pretty purple to begin with.
By and large, I'm quite happy with the GUI tweaks. I'm only concerned about the ones which were NOT announced. What was the reason behind this font/color change, why weren't we warned/told about it, and can it be un-done? Quickly?

Just some comment on the /findfriend command. I had 263 people in my friendslist i gathered over about 7 months of SWG, being happy to be able to see when they are online. Most were tradepartners, friends, maybe enemys. Doesn't matter. Now, I always thought this was a cut inthe privacy in some kind. Yeah, everybody who wants to knows if I'm online. Okay, it's not a too bad privacy loss. I could live with it, at least it was comfortable.
Reading the full patchnotes today I almost got a shock. "/findfriend? Naa, can't be what I'm thinking." And yes, it was. It completely kills your privacy ingame. I mean, it's just a game. But hell, I like to keep my location and my travelling routes private even in a game. As a matter of fact, the most important person for me in this game got 3(!) tells with his full location directly after logging in after the patching was done. I was like **edit**, addignore, kill from buddylist. And that was what I done. Killed EVERYONE from my friendslist. Thanks Devs.
I really appreciate how you're inserting some of the easiest griefing methods without thinkingit over. What 'bout "revamping" (you love that word, right?) the friendslist so that only people authorized by the person added can add them. And what bout giving an extra checkbox for the /findfriend command?
Just gimme back my damn privacy.
you have the privacy - this does not do anything unless you both have each other listed in your friends list..

Keyboard
- Crafting user interface (UI) now has additional information about resources. This new feature has been added to the options window to help organize and reference resources. Open up your options menu by pressing Ctrl-O and then the Interface button. Scroll to the bottom of the window and you will find a list of crafting values. By checking the corresponding box, your inventory will now display the number of your choice on your resources.

- What do you think of the new GUI features?
- Crafting Inventory option
Thanks!
This is really an amazing new feature!
I have try with some combination andnowi can craft faster than before. If its possible make the list of crafting values a window like those of the buff, i think now is a little obtrusive for change while crafting.
Camera Shake Toggle: Awesome thanks
Crafting Inventory option: Useful but seems slow to update when changing which are your priorities and the weighting option mentioned by others would be nice.
Con(sider) circles on radar: Great idea, too late now but I think this would have been a great novice scout skill
Is your XP updating: So far
I'd also like to say the vehicle from toolbar improvement is my favorite of the UI udates. Can we get droids/pets to work the same way in the future?
# Crafting Inventory option
# Con(sider) circles on radar

Nice to see the toggle go in it can get irritating at times. Seems to work well and as its a toggle I can turn it on again if I want the world to shake from downing a Rancor.
Not used the intentory option but seems like a nice idea
Consider circles are cool but as the consider system takes no account of my ability to heal myself or my buffs its utterly useless.
XP seems to be fine.
Shadow on names gone:
I can't read the words above heads, is this intended to make the world more imersive or reduce lag? I squint enough while playing as it is, I play too much but my eyesight has deteriorated significantly over the last year. Its not a good change please reverse it.
I think the smuggler issue is more of a bug than a UI issue
The 'Potential Energy (PE)' box, for displaying resource stat averages in your inventory/crafter input window, doesn't work properly. I had a stack of carni meat on me, and only the OQ and PE boxes ticked, and it just showed straight OQ underneath quantity in my inv. There was no averaging, or taking PE into account at all.
The names losing the drop-shadows, that's.. annoying, too. Would have liked a tick-box option to enable/disable this, rather than just having it set for me and no say about it. All names are harder to read now, that's a bad thing.
On the other hand, the camera shake option is good, and so are the /con circles on the radar.
