i will have to say it has been a long long long wait for wookiee love.

i've been here since early sept.

many wookiees have died along the way and many have cancelled accounts in utter disgust.

many more have rerolled in frustration or lack of determination - which has hurt diversity in the game.

i am glad the DEV's have finally gotten to work on such a huge imbalance and total disruption in the wookiee players ability to have fun and truely enjoy the game, from pve to pvp much have the game has been shut to us since launch because of this oversite.

i think the worst part was the silence from the devs for so long, which i hope you will never do again when such an obvious problem exists.

at any rate i am excited that this armor is finally coming and will wear it with pride.

i look forward to seeing the other designs and playing my wookiee to its fullest and having the advantages all other races have.

i am glad the dev team is working hard and putting a good foot forward.

i think it would be great if you guys would give veteran wookiees a FREE set of armor as a reward and apology for having to wait so long - much as you gave holocrons - but since armor is such a fundemental dynamic for leveling, raiding, style, pvp and the economy i hope you will see that this is much more important.

even more a set with a special vetern only color pattern that would denote the grief we have been caused.

wookiees shall be the strong and noble species they were always meant to be!!!

i definately agree with the reparations thread.......since the beginning of the game we have not been up to par with the other players just becuase of the race we have chosen.......i have been a crafter since launch....and for the last couple of months have been doing some pvp and find myself at a great disadvantage with the other players.......

I also disagree with the look of the armor........why is all wookie stuff made of bark and leaves?????....i am sure if you guys were designing a bowcaster for us it would be a crossbow made of wood and stone..........ok guys...the wookie is the guy who fights with han solo in the falcon......not the little dudes in the forest that worship C3PO......i dont remember seen chewie.....swinging from vines.....and trowing spears around........

hey....just becuase we are hairy and speak weird does not mean we are are culturally and a technologically retarted race.......

look here is want i want for the wookies for the next patch.....stop work on the combat balance.....and pay attention to this first......you have been addresing the "combat balance" since the beginning.....

...i want bikinis for the male and some thongs for the ladies........pimp hats......a cool cane...(made of any material except wood)........i want a cape...like a super hero........i also want a special wookie vehicle ...specially for us......white...with white interior......a nice cadillac looking car.......not the car from the flintstones.......cadillac........

also......to show the distaste you have for us the wookies.....you have made us wear a big tent dress.....and call it a wookie smock....or something like that........."HEY......that is a big a** dress you are wearing dude....take it off"....is what i find myself telling fellow wookies all the time......and they only cry in response becuase that is the only thing they have for us......other than the leather hood....and a skirt......a skirt!!!!!! man....might as well put in the back of our stuff The Village People....

come on guys......why do you hate us so much.......and dont tell me.....hey...we have nothing against wookies.....some of my best friends are wookies......well i am not buying it..........since the beginning of launch we have been the damm dirty apes in this world......and it has to stop now!!..........please do us a favor......and get another developer or team in our armor.......not the guys you have now working on our stuff....that were raised in by the wolves and really enjoyed wood shop...........here is what i want........gold....lots of gold....i want the armor in my wookie to be seen in naboo when i am standing in coronet........

I think the armor looks great. I admit I was a bit shocked at the concept rendering the first time I saw it, but the art in the game looks great. The rendering reminds me of a scarecrow, but I think the main thingis how barrel-like the chest piece looks. In-game it looks articulated and more flexible, while retaining the protective look.

All the art in the game looks pretty awesome, though. Your art department rocks.

There are some current unanswered posts on the In Testing forum asking who exactly can craft wookiee armor. No answers yet. Some tailors and armorsmiths say they have the schematic and some don't.

i like the look of it ingame alot better then the concept art for sure,but when exactly will we be able to use the crafters apron ,we fix one inequity and start another every toss of the coin.

EVERYONE!!! Look closely. There are TWO horns. The other is pointed right at the viewer. It took me a second to see it right, but when I did, this concept appealed to me a bit more than the previous wookiee armor drawing. The Strawman or King of the Wicker People idea was rediculous and hideous.

This one appears to be made out of wood. Will the next one be made out of brick andoffer 90% protection from Huffing and Puffing?

One point that has been made already in this thread is that the wookiee species isn't retarded. They are quite technically proficient and would use metal to build armor. It might not be what they would use traditionally for huntijng on their home world, but a lot of wookiees have been scattered to wind throughout the galaxy due to slave trade. They've seen technology better than bone, wood and sinew. And, of course, wicker (hideous).They're not stupid. They probably grasp the concept that: wood=strong, steel=stronger. I'm sure they wouldn't let tradition prevent them from protecting themselves from blaster and other energy shots. This concept may have been very effect against lions and tigers and bears (oh, my) but any storm trooper would think this armor is laughable.

But it looks cooler than I thought the first time I saw. I do think a little work needs to be done around the eye cage. Looks like a cumbersome diving suit the navy first used before discovering rubber. Maybe this would be the best place to use a blend of high tech with theprimitive low-tech the DEVS like to associate with wookiees.

Maybe we should get Bow and Arrows for our ranged weapons too!

One thing to remember is yes the armor looks primative. But you have to take in to account this is the first set of armor comeing out for wookies i would think that others will be added later. One of the first sets any race got touseat launch was bone armor very pirmiative looking. Hold out this is only the first set of armor iam sure for us.

why dont we have more race specific stuff throughout the game. other than just the wookies and some twilek items, lets have more race specific items or armors or such
