It's 3 weeks before the next publish and your just asking this NOW?? Wow. If you make it mysterious then I seriously don't know what the hell the point of redesigning it was. I don't even know why this question was asked. :/
They probably have the system all in place. Its just a question of showing us how it works or not. And maybe how much progress we made.
So we're talking about a 'guide' and/or some kind of progress bar, which they can hide or make visible.

You really want to bring upon this game another hologrind age? Last time the path was known what happened? Ruined economies, end of pvp, hologrinding, alot of accounts being cancelled. Honestly, do you want to start that all over again? It is not in the company's best interest to make it a known path.
Alittle mystery is good. Right now the only mystery we have is when some of the ancient bugs will be fixed

I have been playing this game for the last year and have had no chance of ever getting close tobecoming a Jedi. I am a casual player who can only log on for about ten hours a week. I think it should be known. It shouldbe hard not impossible.

I think it should be known, but if possible, different for each person. If there were a way to make various quests that are hard, but not impossible. Each person would be required to do whatever amount is left from their holo-grind credit, they would get a randomly gnerated series of quests, and each persons could be arranged differently.
Obviously not every person can have something different, but make it diversified as possible so that each person is required to work for the goal of unlocking. That way it will make every persons goal different so that others cant tell all their friends how to do it and make it easier for the next person to do.

Probably true, unless pub 10 and/or new unlocks have been pushed back. They don't have time to design, implement and test a new system by August, or even September.
Hence the poll. I guess that's what will really matter--not this thread.
And in that case my vote goes to "known".

For my own i choose " Mysterious and Unknow " !
It's realy important to trying to slow the arrival of a great number ofFS .... Sure you say the Extended Univers of Star wars is not important for you ( i dont agree with thisbut ... You have making your choice
If any player know the system or know the diffilculty of each mission, the number of Jedi can grow up very quickly ! and by this way destabilize the game.
Different ideas for the FS limitation :
- For me the option to becomeFS can be only a gift given to veterant swg players ( 4 or 6 months of playing ).
- Some limitation is needed Like lot of travels in some place, or Npclinked to the Force.
- Try to create a system with a Random spawn of a Mystic Npc ...this Npc can give a limited number of FS Mission ( only 1 at time for each player ) and disapear after they have given this number of missions or after a limited time ( 1 or 2 hours ). The spawn can be limited in a week 1 or 2 times by week too ! this mystic Npc can be limited to a specific side ( dark or light ).
- Each mission need to be realy different each time and different for every people ....
- This mission need to be limited to the player not a group ( like the system of the Corellian corvette, the player enter alone in their own dungeon/mission) and adapted to the player strength. You can create a time limit for making the mission like the corvette too ( for ex: 1 hour when you start the mission ).
- Different style of mission ( Combat, Negociation, Healing, infiltration, delivery .... ) but please dont make only combat missions !!
- It would be necessary FS and Jedi have a chanceto bedetected when an Imperial control ( imperial crackdown ) and be hunted and killedon sight if they are discovered.
- FS can activate BH mission on him if he use FS limited power ( like the jedi system ) or when he is detected by an imperial control.
- FS gain FS points each time an FS mission is finish, but loose FS points each time he is killed by a BH via an BH mission.

I completely like this idea!
Divvur wrote:Here are my ideas, simple in practice but quite difficult to explain, but I will try my best.Everyones path to realising their force sensitivity should be mysterious, random and unique. However, it should not require specific types of skills in order to complete it. Instead the system should encourage you to play your chosen profession as it should be played. It basically revolves around having a hidden chance revolving around doing things based upon your profession. When your character is created, a random number, between 20-30 (remember all numbers can be tweaked so please don't dismiss the idea because of the example numbers given), is assigned to a player. This is how many Force Sensitive Events people need to become Force Sensitive.A Force Sensitive Event can be anything, and is based upon the allocation of skillpoints for professions. Basically, when someone does an action involved with their profession, there is a slim random chance that it was a Force Sensitive Event. For example, when a Brawler kills an NPC in combat, there is a 1 in 100,000 chance that they will have completed a Force Sensitive Event. When this happens, they will get a message saying something like: 'You anticipate your enemies next move with a strange certainty and responded to it with reflexes faster than you knew you were capable off, defeating your enemy.' Obviously, the chance will be modified by a certain number of factors, such as how powerful the enemy is, and how many skill points are devoted to such professions. A Novice Brawler killing one of Jabba's Thugs is less likely to cause a Force Sensitive Message to appear than someone who has spent 250 points on Combat professions killing a high end mob at the end of a cave quest. The idea is to challenge yourself in your chosen field.Obviously the Brawler example cannot be applied to all professions, so here are few ideas for Force Sensitive Events for other professions:Scouts - Someone who is a Scout or a Ranger would have a chance every time they killed a creature, or perhaps used a trap, getting a similar message saying 'You anticipate the creatures next move with a strange clarity and respond instinctively using your knowledge of the creature'. Obviously killing a high level creature, such as a Krayt Dragon has a greater chance of an event happening.Artisans - Players invovled in an Artisan profession have a chance every time they craft an object of creating an event. The crafting or rare loot items, such as a Geonosian Pistol or RIS armour would increase the chances. A message such as 'You have an unusual certainty on exactly how you should put this specific item together so it is a good quality item'. Increasing some of the attributes on the specific item when this happens would be a nice touch.Smuggler - When being searched, a Smuggler has a chance of persuding someone that they are not carrying anything against all odds. A message such as 'The searcher opens a box containing illegal goods. However, they somehow seem to be completely oblivious to the goods and close the box without question' could work. Obviously, being a Hybrid profession Smugglers would also have some chance of causing an event through crafting spices and combat, based on the number of skill points invested in those areas.Medic - When healing/enhancing another player, you can get a strange feeling about what is wrong with them and how you can cure them. You get a message such as: 'You have an unnatural feeling about exactly what can be done for this patient and use the appropriate medicines to cure them.' Having a bonus to that heal would also be appreciated.I am sure many more variables for different professions can be worked it in order to create a system that basically encourages you to do your profession to the best of your ability. Once you have had 20-30 of these Force Sensitive Events, you actually learn how to harness this power in some small way, and gain the Force Sensitive Skill Trees. It also ensures that every path to Force Sensitivity is different, and no doubt many tales will be retold in Cantinas across the Galaxy about the time a Ranger had an unusual instinct that told them exactly how to kill the Rancor they had been tracking, or the time the local Chef managed has a strange urge to add that extra spice to his Sythsteak to make the tastiest in the Galaxy.Your input into this idea is most welcome.

If it is made a secret, then what about the folk who have already travelled part way down the path?
What I am talking about are the people who have already holo'd part of the way to opening their slot. Would they then suddenly be given X number of points in force sensitivity to allocate depending on how far they had progressed and then have no idea how to proceed from there?
While I believe an open method would result in a glut of Jedi running around (bad thing) a secret method would simply lead to the frustration which was seen during the great holo grind phase (also bad thing).
I guess making it known and trying to deal with every man and his dog having a Jedi is probably the only fair way to do it.
2 Cents.

The path to becomming force sensitive should be known. The story has veered from the original story enough already, and this is just a game anyway. People should be able to become force sensitive if they so desire. Anyone who is displeased can stop playing. I've worked hard for a large number of the past moneths to become "force sensitive" and ive still lost the fight to people who have become "force sensitive" after doing only 8 or fewer professions...not right. I, a well as many other players, dont want to be held back any longer.
