"you would have to find that random NPC again"

This phrase right here caught my eye....you cant have people blindly searching for one specific NPC some where on the many planets in the galaxy. They have to be provided with some kinda clue....

Also the idea of waiting a month or even a week for the next mission seems a little crazy...some could lose intrest in the game by then....and we dont want that...

Crafters:A good quest for crafters would be successfully assembling a lightsaber, or successfully assembling a holocron. You could make a series of quests to findcomponents for a (training) lightsaber. Another good one would be for assembling a holocron or other force articles.

Entertainers: Entertainers could have a quest where they have to successfully entertain a crimelord to keep him from killing some kind of prisoners. As long as they keep the crime lord happy he will not execute the prisoners. Maybe put a time limit on it so there is a special strike force team on the way to rescue them and you need to keep the crime lord busy.

Combat Types: Obviously some combination of search and rescue, escort or other types of missions. Also, defeating high powered opponents (rogue dark jedi etc) will help you gain force xp or something like that.

Medics: This one is kind of obvious. There could be a medical emergency (distress call) from small camps or downed ships that require you to keep people alive for a certain amount of time. Similar to the entertainer one I said above.

Scouts: This one is kind of hard. I would say missions where you are to find certain ancient ruins or artifacts that are force sensitive objects. (Holocrons or force crystals come to mind)

I do think that there should be a mix of all of these types of missions because a jedi should be well rounded in all the disciplines.

I like your ideas....but....the combat one can not be impossible just because they choose action to dancing ...im just saying that all the ideas have to be equal in difficulty (this is the failure behind holocrons...imo...all the classes were no equal in difficult...i know I did ARMORSMITH

yo guys hows it going....

Ok let me tell you a little bit about me since this is the first time I am posting a respons. I have never been the very hardcore video game player, i mean i like video games but i barely played.... unitle this game came. OMG so addictive and so much fun- trying to get jedi always makes this game interesting and new to me, because every proffesion is unique and different. Some i dont like (tailor) and some i love (tka). The bottom line is as loing as i know that im getting closer and closer to jedi this game is fun.... My opinions on the quests

I honestly do not think that this long series of quests would be fair to all the players that have been trying so hard to get jedi. I got this game on christmas of 2003 and there hasnt been a single day that i havent played because i want to unlock jedi SOOOOO bad. If the system just changes makeing all the hard effort i put in to this game obsolete, then the fun factor of this game would go from a 10 to like a 1.4 -plus me and all my friends play this game in hopes to getting jediand even they say that if the system becomes so time demanding ( as if its not already) then they also will just quit. I think this quest based system should take effect far far in the futer giving everyone a chance to finihs. if not that it should take effec for the recently createdcharacters only. I mean like i said it would be no fair to pull a 180 on the people who have been trying so hard to accomplish this goal. This would just result in a mass lose of cutomers in my opinion because this game will turn into a responsibilyt rather thaan a pleasure. This game is supposed to be relaxing and fun ( which it most definatly is now!) and i dont think these quest systems should destroy such a good game. ALSO with the quests, more people would try to become jedi since it is a garuntee they will succed in the end. This will result in way more jedi than anticipated. The system now however has effect only on those that are willing enough to waste hours and hours on a proffesion that might not be the chosen one at all. I think that the system should stay as it is- lets face it, if it wasnt for the mistake of giving out so many holos during christmas then there woulndt be anything wrong with the current system because it would still be VERY UNLIKLEY to unlock.

Well thank you guys for reading my post and i hope you consider my thoughts. This is a really fun game and is so detailed that its like real life in a way. Its like a matrix. I dont think anyother game will ever be as good as this one. Dont let the panic of too many jedi trigger a chain reaction of events that will make this game depressing and long caz that would be a catastrophy for everyone!!

PEACE

4) High difficulting in unlocked force slot. Jedi need to be rare. Not everyone gets one but all want to work toward getting one. That is a great idea and should still be in the game.

Looking from a dev's stand point....this is sucide for the game....most people are working for a jedi...if they cant get one....then I see player numbers droping way down.....I understand that It should be hard but there has to be a limit to the difficulty somewhere....

1.) grinding different professions.
Franky there are some professions i just dont want to do. I HATE crafting, so i would not like
to be forced to craft.

AMEN TO THAT- "on a producers point of view this is suicide" i have already been tempted to quit caz getting jedi is so hard as it is now. If it wasnt for my friends i would of quite loooong time ago. IF this system becomes so "time demanding and difficult" as stated, dear devs, dont be supprised id you lose alot of customers. Lets not forget this is a game and its purpose is to be alot of fun so many people play. it was created to make money. If it becomes so insaley difficult and hasslesome, no on in there right mind is gona stick around- not if they want to become jedi at least (which is like 80 percent of the players) people bought STARWARS for jedi. If they wanted to do long hassles some missions as a talilor or entertainer they would of bought "barbies millenia fashion mall" or "marrie kate and ashelye olsens pop mix" something like that.

Afterplayingthis game for quite some time, most people know all about the jedi and how it is you openyour FSCS (Force sensitive character slot). It is my vision that the empathsis on the force is being lost. The FSCSis opened by mastera certiannumber of random professions. This way of obtaining the slot doeshave anything to do with the force. So now the time for change has come and now you have to decide a new system for obtaining the force sensitive slot.I think what ever you choose, please choose something that centers on the idea of a connectionwith the force. If it is a quest a good ideais to make the quests having to do with making a connection with the force and learning more about it, thats what force sensitive shouldmean. I also think that as you progress through jedi you should just start to focus on the lightsaber and combat. But more of a center of focus on the force and ways of drawing your power from the force by means of meditation and expanding your knowledge of the living force. In summary, i just thinkthere should be a way as a jedi to beable to take the way of the force wielder jediinsteadof the lightsaber wielding jedi.

What I think would be nice to see would be the following:

The quest for the Force sensitive slot would be a quest system based on Jedi Faction. The person doing the quest would have to complete each random quest and each time he completes the quest he will either get positive Jedi faction to start out as a rebel or negative Jedi faction to start out as a Dark Jedi. The faction reward would depend on the Jedi's actions.

Some examples would be:

1.) A hooded stranger walks into the cantina and sits down in a corner by himself. When you walk up to him and start talking to him a group of bounty hunters walk in the door and attack the Jedi. If you succeed in saving the Jedi's life you get 250 Jedi faction points. If you die during the attempt then nothing happens.

2.) While walking in the plains of Dant you see a lone storm trooper. As an Imperial you stop to talk to him to offer your assistance. The stormtrooper tells you that Darth Vader sent him to get some help as hes fixing to raid an underground Jedi council meeting. Twenty minutes later you come back with 5 of your best friends and meet up with the trooper. After following the trooper to a waypoint you see a pitched battle going on with between Darth Vader and four Jedi. If you manage to kill the remnants of the Jedi council you lose 250 Jedi faction going towards starting as a dark Jedi.

Make each of these quests totally random in where they appear and make at least a hundred of them where people wont be able to post spoilers so soon. Have the quests also keyed to the first person that talks to them and nobody else will be able to get the reward but them. This would prevent people from killstealing the npc's or people letting the person die only to snag the quest reward.

Also once you get Jedi have the Jedi trainer npc give out random quests. Each of these quests would either give Jedi clothing, Jedi Skill attachments or Lightsaber components. Some topics for the quest could be being sent to another planet or a certain point on the planet your on to investigate a disturbance in the force or have it where Jedi's of opposing factions get missions to kill other Jedi's for around 100,000 Jedi xp per mission completion and a reward.

WOW! some really nice ideas here...i like the hooded stranger one the best...

I say lock the FSS right now, no more new jedi, then start looking for the jedi that exploit and kick them out. Remember if we work together we can rid the galaxy of this problem!

Greetings! Here are a few ideas:

1. Instead of creating a new character, what if the character thatunlocks the fs slotbecomes the Jedi? In this system the Jedi profession would work in just the same fashion as all the other professions, with one exception. Once one skill is put into the Jedi profession, all other skills in all other professions are lost. This way one has to be truly committed to being a Jedi. Master Jedi should require all of the skill points. In many Star Wars stories and games, like in the Jedi Knight series of games, a Jedi can revoke his abilities and live as a normal character, i.e. a smuggler, etc. Or the person can embrace the force and become a full-fledged Jedi.

2. Jedi advancement should take place with pairs of Knights or Masters and Apprentices. It is fitting that the most extremem profession requires the use of the most extreme apprenticeship system. Instead of looking for NPC's to get skillsfrom, or train from, Jedi would look to eachother to take on quests together and advance together, just as in the movies.

3. Just as bounty hunters will someday be able to take on assassination missions from players, Jedi should also take on missions from players, but possibly only at the city level. If a rebel city was being raided constantly by Imperial pvpers with their at-st's and they truly needed help, they could call for the aid of a Jedi. They would be forced to put up a handsome reward if the Jedi was successful. This would integrate the Jedi into the player community and allow more interaction between players and Jedi.
